1.      ISSF JUNIOR WORLD CUP: MANU BHAKER WINS GOLD
i. Shooter Manu Bhaker secured India's second individual gold  in a thrilling final of the women's 10m air pistol event at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Sydney, Australia.
ii. India also won 10m Air Pistol men's event too with Gaurav Rana winning a silver medal while Anmol Jain bagged the bronze.

2.      JS RAJPUT NOMINATED INDIA’S REPRESENTATIVE TO UNESCO'S EXECUTIVE BOARD
i. The Government of India has decided to nominate Prof. J S Rajput, former Director NCERT, as India’s representative to the Executive Board  of UNESCO.
ii. The executive board is one of the constitutional organs of UNESCO and is elected by the General Conference.
iii.The next meeting of Executive Board of UNESCO is to be held in Paris, France in April 2018.

1.      CCEA APPROVES INTEGRATED SCHEME FOR DEVELOPMENT OF SILK INDUSTRY
i.  The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved Integrated Scheme for Development of Silk Industry for the next three years from 2017-18 to 2019-20.
ii. The decisions taken by the cabinet will lead to the formation of a first-ever inter-ministerial panel to boost R&D and technology transfer in the silk sector with a 1,000 crore rupee fund.
iii. The scheme will help to increase productive employment from 85 lakhs to 1 crore persons by 2020. The scheme aims to achieve self-sufficiency in silk production by 202[B]

  1. UIDAI SET TO INTRODUCE FACE AUTHENTICATION FEATURE FROM JULY 1
The Unique Identification Authority of India  is all set to make face authentication available alongside iris or fingerprint scan as means of verifying Aadhaar users from July 1, 2018.
The UIDAI  in January had announced that it will introduce face authentication feature to help those who run into problems in biometric authentication due to old age, hardwork or worn-out fingerprints.

1.      AMBEDKAR JAYANTI TO BE CELEBRATED AS 'SOCIAL JUSTICE DAY'
The birth anniversary of India's Dalit social reformer Dr BR Ambedkar will be celebrated as 'Social Justice Day'.
 Ambedkar became independent India's first law minister, the principal architect of the Constitution of India.
Ambedkar was awarded the Bharat Ratna posthumously in 1990.

2.      ALL INDIA POLICE SCIENCE CONGRESS KICKS OFF IN HIMACHAL
The 46th All India Police Science Congress organised by the Himachal Pradesh Police Department and The Bureau of Police Research and Development began in Himachal Pradesh.
It began with a clarion call to the police by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to stay ahead of criminals by using technology to prevent and detect crime.

3.      SINDHU TO BE INDIA'S FLAGBEARER IN GOLD COAST CWG
Star shuttler P V Sindhu has been named the flag-bearer of the Indian contingent for the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast next month.
She won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics two years ago, the Hyderabad-based World No. Sindhu is one of the favourites to win the badminton women's singles title in Gold Coast.

 Singapore's Changi Airport has topped in the list of 'world's best airport' for the sixth consecutive year.
South Korea's Incheon Airport, Tokyo Haneda in Japan, Hong Kong and Doha Hamad turned out to be the top five in the list respectiveley.

1.      KUSUM SCHEME TO INSTALL GRID CONNECTED SOLAR PLANTS IN RURAL INDIA
R.K. Singh, Union Minister of State Power and New & Renewable Energy strated a scheme ‘Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan  scheme.
i. KUSUM scheme will provide installation of grid-connected solar power plants each of capacity up to 2 MW in the rural areas.
ii. It will also provide for solarization of existing grid-connected agriculture pumps to make farmers independent of grid supply.
iii. Under KUSUM, farmers will be able to sell surplus solar power generated to power distribution companies  and get extra income.

2.      7 TH WOMEN SCIENCE CONGRESS INAUGURATED AT IMPHAL
Governor of West Bengal, Keshari Nath Tripathi inaugurated the 7th Women Science Congress at the ongoing 105th session of Indian Science Congress in Imphal, Manipur.
i. First edition of Women Science Congress was held in 2012.
ii. Objective of Women Science Congress is to inspire young women to be a part of scientific community and engage themselves in active scientific research.

3.      SOUTH ASIA’S FIRST EVER COWORKING & COPLAY SPACE LAUNCHED IN GURUGRAM
Monkey Business, a first of its kind co-working space in South Asia that also provides onsite childcare was launched in Gurugram, Haryana.
