1.  PM NARENDRA MODI VISITED MASDAR CITY

i.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Masdar city of Abu Dhabi

ii. Masdar City is a zero carbon planned city .It basically relies maximum on solar energy and other renewable energy resources.

iii.  It is world’s one of most sustainable urban developed city with renewable energy sources.

iv.  It is Reducing wastage to zero.

2. GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCED RAJIV GANDHI KHEL RATNA AND ARJUNA AWARD 2015  LIST

i.   The Government announced the awardees list of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and Arjuna Award for 2015.

ii.  The selection committee was headed by Justice V K Bali, former Chief Justice of Kerala High Court.

i.  Maharastra Government has appointed Sachin Tendulkar as its new Ambassador for Tiger Conservation Project

iii. Earlier superstar Amitabh Bachchan has been appointed as Tiger ambassador in Maharastra .

4. AJIT KUMAR NEW CHAIRMAN OF PUBLIC ENTERPRISES SELECTION BOARD

i.  Ajit Kumar Seth is appointed as new chairman of Public Enterprises Selection  Board.

ii.  The appointment is made for next 3 years term.

iii.  Ajit Kumar Seth has replaced Atul Chaturvedi.

i) Public Enterprises Selection Board makes policies for the managing of Central Public Sector Enterprises and to advise government on top managerial post appointments.

ii) Public enterprises Selection Board is formed in 1987.

5.  ANDY MURRAY WON ROGERS CUP 2015

i.  Andy Murray won Rogers Cup Masters tournament 2015 in Montrial, Canada.

ii.  Andy Murray defeated Tennis World Number One Player Novak Djokovic.

6.  RUSSIA TO BACK INDIA FOR A PERMANENT SEAT IN UNSC

i.  Russia clarified that it is going to support India for a permanent seat in United Nations Security Council (UNSC)

ii.  Earlier United States clarified its support in the Favour of India.

United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is one of the six principal organs of United Nations. The main objective of UNSC is to maintain International Peace and Security. India wants a permanent seat in UNSC

.UNSC have 5 permanent members: China, France, Russia, USA. UK

i.  Indian Archer Abhishek Verma Grabbed Gold in the Archery World Cup state 3 competition at Wroclaw , Poland.

ii.  He defeated Esmaeil Ebade of Iran in the final.

2. DEEPIKA KUMARI AND MANGAL SINGH CLINCHED SILVER MEDAL

i.   Indian Recurve Pair Deepika Kumari and Mangal Singh won Silver medal at the World cup State 3 Competition at Wroclaw ,Poland.

ii.  They defeated pair of Mexican players Aida Roman and Juan Rene Serrano

3. ‘START UP INDIA STAND UP INDIA’ CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED BY PM:

i.  PM Narendra Modi flagged off a new campaign start up India, stand up India to promote Bank Financing.

ii.  The aim is to provide Banks financing for boosting new entrepreneurship

iii.  The scheme is launched on Independence Day

The Banks should encourage at least one Dalit, or tribal entrepreneur and at least one woman for entrepreneurship.

4. KERALA STATE AS ‘DIGITAL STATE’

i.  The Kerala Government has declared Kerala as ‘Digital State’

ii.  Kerala became the first state to achieve it.

iii.  Kerala has 100% mobile connectivity, 75% E-literacy and e-district plans in all district.
