1.’INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE’ OBSERVED ON 21ST SEPTEMBER
i. The International Day of Peace was observed on 21 September in world to mark the efforts of those people who have worked hard to end conflict and promote peace.
ii. The theme of International Day of Peace for the year 2015 is ‘Partnerships for Peace- Dignity for All’
iii. The United Nations General Assembly has marked this day to promote the  peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.

2. ‘NEW CONSTITUTION’ ADOPTED BY NEPAL GOVERNMENT
i. Nepal government has adopted new Constitution to mark the country’s transition to a secular and democratic republic.
 ii. President of Nepal Ram Baran Yadav unveiled the new Constitution at a special ceremony in Parliament at Kathmandu.

3. ‘AJAY JAYARAM’ GRABBED SILVER MEDAL IN KOREA OPEN BADMINTON TOURNAMENT
i. India’s badminton player Ajay Jayram grabbed silver medal in 2015 Korea Open Badminton tournament in Men’s singles category.
ii. Gold medal was won by World No. 1 Chen Long of China.
iii. Ajay Jayaram became the first Indian badminton player who grabbed a medal in Korea Open Badminton tournament.

4. SEBASTIAN VETTEL GRABBED 2015 SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX OF FORMULA ONE
i. Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel from Germany grabbed 2015 Singapore Grand Prix of Formula One
ii. The Event was held on the Marina Bay Street Circuit, which is the first street circuit in Asia.
iii. It was his fourth victory in Singapore Grand, earlier he had won in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

5. BCCI PRESIDENT ‘JAGMOHAN DALMIYA’ PASSED AWAY
i. Board of Control for Cricket in India President Jagmohan Dalmiya passed away in  Kolkata, West Bengal.
ii. Jagmohan Dalmiya was  with the BCCI from more than three decades since 1983.
iii. He became BCCI president first time in 2001, second time; he became President of BCCI in March 2015.

iv. He had also served as President of the International Cricket Council (ICC) from 1997 to 2000. He was first Indian and first Asian to head the ICC.

i. President Pranab Mukherjee presented the National Tourism Awards 2013-14 at a function held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
ii. Gujarat was awarded for the Best State/UT for Comprehensive Tourism Development
iii. Gwalior The Heritage City  in Madhya Pradesh awarded as the Best Heritage City

2. ‘SANIA MIRZA & AJINKYA RAHANE’ GOT CRICKET CLUB OF INDIA’S HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP
i. Indian tennis player Sania Mirza and cricketer Ajinkya Rahane were conferred with honorary life membership of Cricket Club of India.
ii. The membership of CCI is a prestigious ownership which is awarded regularly to sportsmen and eminent persons as recognition of their contribution to their respective fields.

3. ‘MARIKO KIPCHUMBA’ GRABBED BEIJING INTERNATIONAL MARATHON 2015
i. Mariko Kipchumba of Kenya grabbed  Beijing International Marathon.
ii. He finished the 42.195-km course in 2 hours 14 minutes and 25 seconds.
iii. Ethiopian women runner Betelhem Cherenet won the title in 2 hours 27 minutes and 31 seconds.

4. ‘METRO MAN E SREEDHARAN’ TO SERVE UN HIGH LEVEL ADVISORY GROUP ON SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT
i. Metro Man Elattuvalapil Sreedharan has been invited to the United Nations’ High Level Advisory Group on Sustainable Transport.
ii. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon invited him to serve on UN High Level Advisory Group on Sustainable Transport for a period of three years.

iii. He is known for changing the face of public transport in India by launching Konkan Railway and the Delhi Metro projects under his leadership.

1.  GOVERNMENT HIKES DUTY ON EDIBLE OIL BY 5 %
i.  The government has hiked import duty on edible oil by 5% .
ii. Import duty on crude edible oil has been hike from 7.5 per cent to 12.5 per cent and on refined edible oil it is hiked from 15 to 20 per cent.
iii. Edible oil imports have been increased to 14 million tonnes in the 2014 -15 from 11.6 million tonnes in the previous year.

2.  PM NARENDRA MODI LAUNCES ‘IPDS’ IN VARANASI
i.   PM Narendra Modi launched National Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
ii.   The main aim sechme is to provide 24x7 power supply to every house.

3.  ANTI-TANK GUIDED ‘AMOGHA-I MISSILE’ TEST FIRED
i.   Indigenously developed second generation anti-tank missile Amogha-I was successfully test fired at Babina Army Range, Madhya Pradesh.
ii.   Amogha-I Missile is developed by state owned Bharat Dynamics Limited.
iii.   Target range of Amogha-I is 2.8 kms.

4. INDIA AND US CREATED ‘JOINT CHALLENGE COIN’ TO MARK PARTNERSHIP
i.   India and United States jointly created a Joint Challenge coin to mark their unique partnership in creating a next-generation aircraft carrier for the Indian Navy.
ii. One side of the coin will have ‘Forward Together We Go’ with ‘Chale Saath Saath’ in Hindi.
iii. The other side of the coin which is golden in colour will have the flags of India and the United States and an aircraft carrier floating on blue water.

5.  INDIA-KUWAIT WORKING GROUP MEETING ON HDYROCARBONS HELD IN NEW DELHI
i. The 4th meeting of the India-Kuwait joint Working Group on Hydrocarbons was held on 16 September  in New Delhi.
ii. The meeting was jointly headed by Ashutosh Jindal, Joint Secretary (International Cooperation),Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Dr Ahmad Al-Qattan, representative of the Kuwaiti Oil Sector.
iii. Both countries discussed various issues of bilateral engagement in the hydrocarbon sector and expressed satisfaction at the progress achieved on the decisions taken during the 3rd joint working group signed in 2014 in Kuwait.
iv. They have also discussed opportunities for joint investment in the oil and gas sector in India and abroad.

6.  ‘GLOBAL INNOVATION INDEX 2015’ RELEASED BY WIPO
i. 8th edition of Global Innovation Index 2015 was released by the World Intellectual Property Organisation the rankings of countries are based on the implementation of Effective Innovation Policies for Development.
ii. The index is topped by Switzerland for being the most innovative nation.
iii. Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Sweden, the Netherlands and the United States of America are the world’s five most innovative nations.
iv. India’s ranking has slipped to 81 in the list as compared to 76 in 2014.

1. ‘M.SHIKSHA MITRA MOBILE APP’ LAUNCHED BY MADHYA PRADESH:
i.   Madhya Pradesh Government launched Application M-Shiksha Mitra for teachers.
ii. Madhya Pardesh becomes first state to launch app for development of teachers.
iii. Teachers can use this app to browse salary slip, fund sends to school under various heads, scholarships, teachers can use this application for applying  leave and also e-attendance.

2.  ‘EPFO’ INCREASED MAXIMUM INSURANCE COVER TO 6 LAKH RUPEES:
i. Employees provident fund organization increased the life insurance cover of its subscribers from 3.6 lakh to 6 lakh rupees.
ii. The life cover known as employees Deposit linked insurance that is paid to the family of the EPF subscriber in case of his/her death.

3. ‘NANA PATEKAR’ ESTABLISHED ‘NAAM FOUNDATION’ TO FUND DROUGHT HIT FARMERS:
i.   Nan Patekar established Naam foundation to fund drought relief for farmers.
ii.  It will provide help to overcome draught conditions in India.
iii. The foundation will collect funds from public and use it to provide gainful employment to youth in villages facing drought.

4. ‘PMKKKY’ LAUNCHED BY UNION GOVERNMENT:
  i. Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) is launched by union government to transform the lives of people living in the areas which are affected directly or indirectly by mining.
 ii. The aim of  Yojna is to  minimize the adverse impacts, during and after mining, on the environment, health and socio-economics of people in mining districts.

 iii. The another aim is to  ensure long-term sustainable livelihoods for the affected people in mining areas by  providing drinking water,health care, sanitation, education, skill development, women and child care, welfare of aged and disabled people, skill development to ensure a prosper  life.

1. RESERVE BANK OF INDIA GRANTED ‘INPRINCIPLE’ LICENSE TO ‘10 SMALL FINANCE BANKS’
i.  RBI has granted Inprinciple approval to 10 entities, to set up small finance banks to provide basic Banking services to small formers and micro industries.
ii.  RBI gives license to banks under section 22(I) of the Banking regulation act 1949.
iii.  Inprinciple means license for 18 month

2.  OECD PROJECTED INDIA’S GROWTH AT 7.2% FOR 2015-2016
i.   Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development projected India’s growth at a lower pace than expected earlier.
ii.   It projected India’s growth at 7.2% for this fiscal year.
iii.  It has also projected that India is expected to be the fastest growing major economy in next two years.
     OECD: It is a group of countries describing themselves as committed to democracy and the market economy, providing a platform to compare policy experiences, seeking answers to common problems, identify good practices and coordinate domestic and international policies of its members.

3.  ‘HANGZHOU CITY’ CHOSEN TO HOST 2022 ASIAN GAMES
i.   Hangzhou city in East China is chosen to host 2022 Asian Games
ii.  It will be the Third Chinese city to host the Asian Games after Beijing and Guangzhou.
iii. First Asian games was held in India in 1951
iv.  In 2014: Incheon, South Korea hosted Asian Games, Jakarta is going to host in 2018 Asian Games

4. RAILWAYS SHOT PUTTER ‘MANPREET KAUR’ SHATTERED NATIONAL RECORD
i.   Railways Shot Put player Manpreet Kaur shattered 18 year old national record at national open athletics championship at Kolkata.
ii.  She broke Harbans Kaur’s earlier record of 17.43 meter by throwing shot put at 17.96 meter.
iii.  Now she has  qualified for 2016 Rio Olympics

1. SUNJEEV SAHOTA SHORTLISTED FOR 2015 ‘MAN BOOKER PRIZE FOR FICTION’
i. Indian origin author Sunjeev Sahota has been shortlisted for the prestigious 2015 Man Booker Prize for fiction.
ii.  Sunjeev Sahota’s novel ‘The year of the Runaways’ is shortlisted.
iii. This novel explains about the life experience of illegal immigrants from India in Britain.

2.  INDIAN AMERICAN SWETHA PRABAKARAN SELECTED FOR ‘CHAMPIONS OF CHANGE AWARD’
i.   Indian-American Swetha Prabhakaran a 15 year old girl has been selected for champion of change award.
ii.  The award is given for his work to empower the community by imparting education of internet coding through her non-profit organization.

3.  ‘MALCOLM TURNBULL’ SWORN IN AS NEW PM OF AUSTRALIA
i.   Malcolm Turnbull sworn as new PM of Australia he replaced Tony Abbott.
ii. Turnbull defeated Tony Abbott in an internal party leadership ballot. Turnbull got 54 votes against 44 votes received by Tony Abbott.

4.  RENOWNED CLASSICAL DANCER ‘KALAMANDALAM’ DIED
  i. Veteran Classical dancer Kalamandalam Sathyabhama passed away in Palakkad district of Kerala.
ii.  Satyabhama is credited with purifying the Mohiniyattam dance form by weeding out external influences.

5.  THE INDIAN KALARIPPAYATTU FEDERATION IS RECOGNISED BY SPORTS MINISTRY AS ‘REGIONAL SPORTS FEDERATION’
 i. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports recognized the Indian Kalarippayattu Federation as Regional Sports Federation.
ii. It will promote and give due acknowledgement and importance to sports having regional spread.
iii. It will grant a major role to the Indian Kalarippayattu Federation in promoting and developing Kalarippayattu sport in India.

Kalaripayattu sport is a Martial art sport that is performed in Southern state of Kerala and in some parts of Tamil Nadu.

1. WORLD BANK REPORT ‘GUJARAT’ TOPS IN ‘EASE OF DOING BUSINESS IN INDIA’:
i) Gujarat ranked first in World Bank’s first ever ranking of Indian States on the ease of doing business in India.
ii) Top 5 States in the list are: Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh
Eight key parameters: The setting up of a business, complying with environment procedures, complying with labour regulations , allotment of land and obtaining construction permit, , registering and complying with tax procedures, obtaining infrastructure-related utilities, carrying out inspections and enforcing contracts.

2. ‘RBI AND NEPAL RASTRA BANK’ INKED MOU FOR SUPERVISORY INFORMATION EXCHANGE:
i) Reserve Bank of India has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nepal Rastra Bank on Supervisory Cooperation and Exchange of Supervisory Information.
ii) The memorandum of understanding will promote co-operation and share supervisory information between the countries.

3. TONY ABBOTT EXPELLED AS AUSTRALIAN PRIME MINISTER:
i)  Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott was ousted from power as leader of the ruling centre-right Liberal Party by challenger Malcolm Turnbull on 14 September 2015   .
ii) Tony Abbott lost in  internal party leadership ballot against Malcolm Turnbull . In the ballot, Abbott received 44 votes while Turnbull received 54 votes.

4. UN ADOPTED  9 DECEMBER AS ‘INTERNATIONAL GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION DAY’
i) United Nations General Assembly announced to observe 9th December as International genocide commemoration day.
ii) 9th of December will be observed as International Genocide Commemoration Day to commemorate and honour the victims of the crime of genocide around the world.

5.  GOVERNMENT APPROVES ADDITIONAL 50 WORK DAYS TO FARMERS UNDER MGNREGA:
i) Central Government  to provide additional 50 days of unskilled manual work in the financial year 2015-16 to farmers in drought-hit areas under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act  scheme.
ii) It will bring relief to farmers  which are effected by deficit monsoon in various parts of the country.
