1. UNION GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCED 4 NEW IT-BASED INITIATIVES FOR CITIZEN-CENTRIC HEALTH SERVICES
i. Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J P Nadda announced four new Information Technology-based initiatives to provide  health services to citizens on the occasion of the Good Governance Day.
ii.  The initiatives include three applications such as Kilkari, Mobile Academy and M-Cessation and a toll free number 1800-11–6666 which will provide  counselling and treatment support services for TB patients.
iii. Kilkari: is an audio-based mobile service that delivers weekly audio messages to families about pregnancy, child birth and child care.
iv. Mobile Academy  a mobile-based application aimed at providing training services to 9 million ASHAs  to enhance their inter-personal skills.
v. M-Cessation is a IT-enabled tool to help tobacco users to quit tobacco.

2. CHINA AMENDED ITS ONE COUPLE, ONE CHILD POLICY
i.   China’s National People's Congress Standing Committee gave its approval to amend One Couple, One Child Policy.
ii.  The policy was implemented in 2002 and restricted couples to have only one child.
iii. The Policy was implemented to control country's population structure.

3. SATYAVATI BERERA BECAME FIRST WOMAN COO AT BIG 4 IN INDIA
i.  Satyavati Berera became the Chief Operating Officer of a Big Four accounting firm in India.
ii. She became the first woman to reach the level of a Chief Operating Officer.
iii. The Big Four are the four largest international professional services networks, offering audit, assurance, tax, consulting, advisory, actuarial, corporate finance, and legal services.
iv. They handle the majority of audits for publicly traded companies as well as many private companies, creating an oligopoly in auditing large companies.

4. PM NARENDRA MODI INAUGURATED AFGHAN PARLIAMENT HOUSE IN KABUL
i.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Afghanistan’s newly-built Parliament House in Kabul.
ii. The house was entirely built by India’s government-owned construction agency Central Public Works Department at an estimated cost of 90 million US dollars.
iii. Its foundation stone was laid by the then Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh in August 2005.
iv. It is Asia’s largest parliaments in India.

5. INDIA, RUSSIA SIGNED 16 PACTS TO DEEPEN BILATERAL COOPERATION
i. India and Russia inked 16 Agreements/Memorandum of Understandings to deepen bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, security, technology, etc.
ii. The pacts were signed after the conclusion of the 16th India-Russia Annual Summit in Moscow by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

a.       Agreement, between India and Russia on simplification of requirements for mutual travels of certain categories of citizens of the two countries.
b.      Agreement between India and Russia on mutual travel regime for holders of Diplomatic & Official Passports of 3 December 2004.
c.       Agreement between India and Russia on Cooperation in the field of Helicopter Engineering
d.      Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Railways of India and the Joint Stock company "Russian Railways” on technical cooperation in railway sector.
e.       Memorandum of Understanding between Solar Energy Corporation of India and Russian Energy Agency
f.        Memorandum of Understanding between Prasar Bharati and Digital Television Russia on Cooperation in the field of Broadcasting.

6. ANTI-JAMMING CAPABILITY OF ASTRA MISSILE SUCCESSFULLY TESTED
i. Defence Research and Development Organisation have successfully tested crucial anti-jamming capability of the Astra missile.
ii. Astra missile is indigenously developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation and is one of the smallest weapon systems developed by DRDO.
iii. It is air-to-air beyond-visual-range all-weather missile that can be launched from different altitudes

7. SHIVA KESHAVAN WINS SILVER MEDAL AT ASIAN LUGE CHAMPIONSHIP
i. Indian luger Shiva Keshavan has won a silver medal at the 2015 Asian Luge Championship held in Nagano, Japan.
ii. The first place was grabbed by Japan’s Hidenari Kanayama and the third place is grabbed by South Korea’s Dong Hyeon Kim
iii. Luge is the fastest and most dangerous sports on ice and is part of Winter Olympic program.

8. RELIANCE DEFENCE PARTNERED WITH RUSSIA’S ALMAZANTEY FOR AIR DEFENCE MISSILE SYSTEMS
i. Reliance Defence of Reliance Infrastructure Limited inked a partnership with Russia’s Almaz Antey for producing Air Defence Missile Systems.
ii. It is aimed at fulfilling air defence missile systems, including the TOR-1M missile systems, and radar requirements of Indian armed forces

iii. The partnership will boost indigenous defence production as part of the Union Government’s Make In India initiative.

1. RENOWNED AMERICAN SCIENCE FICTION WRITER GEORGE CLAYTON JOHNSON PASSED AWAY
i.   Renowned American science fiction writer George Clayton Johnson passed away in United States.
ii.  He was best known for novel Logan’s Run.
iii. He had penned the first Star Trek television episode that was broadcasted in 1966.
iv. Some of his famous  novels such as The Twilight Zone, Logan’s Run, Ocean’s 11, Star Trek.

2. INDIAN OIL CORP TOPS IN 2015 FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES IN INDIA LIST
i. Indian Oil Corporation  has emerged as the country’s biggest company in terms of annual revenue according to the annual list of 2015 Fortune 500 companies in India.
ii. Indian Oil Corporation topped the list for consecutive sixth year with annual revenue of Rs. 4,51,911 crore.
iii. IOC was followed by Mukesh Ambani’s led Reliance Industries at the second place with a revenue of Rs. 3,82,565 crore.

3. TECH MAHINDRA LAUNCHES CONTACTLESS WALLET MOBOMONEY
i.   IT major Tech Mahindra has launched first of its kind ‘Tap N Pay’ contactless digital payment wallet MoboMoney in iIndia.
ii. MoboMoney has been billed as India’s first commercial NFC ecosystem that will allow consumers to convert cash into e-cash for making payments.
iii. MoboMoney is a prepaid wallet issued in the form of a Near Field Communication contactless tag that could be used to ‘Tap N Pay’ for goods and services.

4. SEYCHELLES GOVERNMENT ALLOWS INDIA TO BUILD NAVAL BASE ON ITS ASSUMPTION ISLAND
i.   Seychelles government allowed India to build its first Naval Base on the Assumption Island in the Indian Ocean region as a joint project between both countries.
ii.  Seychelles government has allocated a land on in its Assumption Island which will help to enhance mutual security along our western seaboard in Indian Ocean Region.
iii. The naval base would be used by the defence forces of both countries.

5. SYED KIRMANI NOMINATED FOR 2015 COL. C.K. NAYUDU LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
i.   India’s former wicket-keeper batsman Syed Kirmani has been nominated for prestigious BCCI-instituted Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award 2015.
ii. He was conferred with the award for his contribution to Indian cricket.
iii. He was a member of the Indian team that won the World Cup in 1983 for the first time
iv. Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award is started by BCCI to celebrate the birth centenary of Col. Cottari Kanakaiya Nayudu, the country’s first Test captain.

6. 25TH DECEMBER OBSERVED AS NATIONAL GOOD GOVERNANCE DAY
i.   National Good Governance Day is observed every year on 25th December on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
ii.  The day is observed to mark 91st birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee several programmes were organized nationwide and new initiatives were announced.

iii. Earlier in December 2014 Union Government had announced that National Good Governance Day will be observed on the birthday of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

1. INDIAN ORIGIN SOFTWARE ENGINEER GRABBED UK AWARD
i.   Indian-origin software engineer Nandagopal Lakshminarayanan has been honoured with UK award in the UK.
ii.  He has been honoured  for inventing an innovative electronic smart key system which enables the creation and management of keys and locks that cannot be copied or picked.
2. SRI LANKAN WICKETKEEPER KUSAL PERERA BANNED FOR 4-YEARS
i.   Sri Lankan wicketkeeper Kusal Perera is banned for a four-year ban after his B sample test came positive.
ii.  The ICC has stated that as his urine sample was tested positive in Qatar after the investigation team had originally found that his urine contained banned substance.
iii. He is a second Sri Lankan player to flunk  in a dope test.
iv. Earlier Left-hand batsman Upul Tharanga was suspended for three months after testing positive for a banned substance during the 2011 World Cup.

3. AMWAY INDIA ANNOUNCED BOLLYWOOD ACTOR FARHAN AKHTAR AS ITS BRAND AMBASSADOR TO PROMOTE NUTRILITE RANGE OF THE PRODUCTS
i.   Amway India announced Farhan Akhtar as his brand ambassador to promote Nutrilite products.
ii. Anshu Budhraja CEO of Amway  stated they need a strong and credible face who could help people to understand the role of supplementation in daily life in addition to balanced diet and exercise for a  healthy lifestyle.
iii. Nutrilite is a leading brand of vitamins and dietary supplements.

4. VETERAN ACTRESS SADHANA PASSES AWAY IN MUMBAI
i.   Famous Hindi film actress Sadhana passed away in Mumbai.
ii.  She is known for popularising the fashionable Sadhana cut (fringe haircut) and known for her on-screen simple looks
iii. Some of his memorable films, such as Love in Shimla, Parakh,woh Kaun Thi, Waqt ,Mera Saaya, Geeta Mera Naam among others.

5. RESERVE BANK OF INDIA INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR INNOVATIVE PAYMENT SOLUTIONS
i.   The Reserve Bank of India has invited applications  to encourage innovative solutions in the field of Payment and Settlement System.
ii. “Payment System Innovation Awards” is presented to those which will come with innovative idea in the field of banking technology
iii. Some broad areas which the contest will hope to cover are:
a.          Payment security including fraud prevention
b.         Customer convenience and cost reduction
c.          Mobile payments
d.         Acceptance/electronic payment infrastructure
e.          Use of emerging technologies for payments
iv. RBI has already issued new licenses to 10 small banks and 11 payment banks that would use technology to disrupt banking.

6. CHINA LAUNCHED DAMPE SATELLITE TO SHED LIGHT ON MYSTERIOUS DARK MATTER
i.   China launched the Dark Matter Particle Explorer known as DAMPE,Satellite to shed light on mysterious dark matter.
ii. It was the country's first space telescope launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.

iii. The purpose of the satellite is to search for smoking-gun signals of dark matter, invisible material making most of the universe's mass.

1.UN ANNOUNCED 5TH NOVEMBER AS WORLD TSUNAMI AWARENESS DAY
i.The United Nations General Assembly has adopted a resolution to observe 5th November every year as World Tsunami Awareness Day.
ii.The observance of the day will help to spread awareness among people across the world in matters related to the dangers of tsunami.

2.BIOCON LAUNCHED GENERIC VERSION OF HEPATITIS-C DRUG HARVONI IN INDIA
i. Biocon Limited launched the generic version of hepatitis – C drug in the Indian market.
ii.The generic version of the drug named Harvoni will be sold under the brand name CIMIVIR-L.
iii.Hepatitis-C is a viral disease that causes liver inflammation leading to diminished liver function or liver failure.

3.IDEA BECAME THIRD MOBILE OPERATOR TO LAUNCH 4G SERVICES IN INDIA
i. Idea Cellular became the third mobile operator in India to launch 4G services in India.
ii. Earlier the Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India had launched 4G services in India.

4.LOK SABHA PASSES BILL TO HIKE BONUS LIMIT
i.The Lok Sabha has passed the Payment of Bonus (Amendment) Bill, 2015 which  will allow doubling of wage ceiling for calculating bonus of factory workers.
ii.The Bill will amend the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965.
iii.The Bill provides for enhancing monthly bonus calculation ceiling to Rs 7,000 per month from the existing Rs 3,500.
iv.The amendment bill will be made effective from April 1, 2015

5.CCEA APPROVES RS 3,000 CRORE SCHEME FOR FISHERIES SECTOR
i.Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has given its approval for implementation of an umbrella scheme for development and management of fisheries.
ii.The Scheme is sponsored by central government on Blue Revolution that will be implemented  with an outlay of 3,000 crore rupees for a period of five years
iii.The scheme will cover will initiatives for development and management of inland fisheries, aquaculture and marine fisheries

6. NORTH INDIA'S FIRST CABLE BRIDGE INAUGURATED AT BASOHALI TOWN OF J&K
i.Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar dedicated the first cable bridge of North India to the nation  in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir  .
ii.The 592-metre bridge was constructed over river Ravi on Dunera- Basohli-Bhadharwah road.
iii.It would provide close connectivity between three northern states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
iv. It is fourth Cable Bridge in India and first in North India and Jammu and Kashmir.

7. ZIMBABWE ANNOUNCED TO ADOPT CHINESE CURRENCY YUAN
i. Zimbabwe announced it is going to adopt the Chinese Yuan as legal tender.
ii.Yuan will be a function of trade between China and Zimbabwe and acceptability with customers in Zimbabwe.
iii. China has become the largest investor in Zimbabwe.
iv.To stabilize its hyperinflation crisis, the nation has adopted foreign currencies, mostly the US Dollar and South African Rand, as legal tender.
v. This adoption helped the country to boost its economy.

8. FIFA’S INDEPENDENT ETHICS COMMITTEE BANNED SEPP BLATTER AND MICHEL PLATINI FROM FOOTBALL FOR 8 YEARS
i.The Ethics Committee banned FIFA President Sepp Blatter and Vice-President of Committee of FIFA for 8 years.
ii.They were banned for eight years from all football-related activities including administrative, sports or any other national and international events.

9. 10TH WTO MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE ADOPTED NAIROBI PACKAGE
i. The 10th World Trade Organisation Ministerial Conference held in Nairobi, Kenya.
ii.The conference has adopted the Nairobi Package that is aimed to benefit poor member countries.
iii. The conference was attended by trade ministers of 162 member countries of the WTO.
iv.India was represented by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Commerce & Industry Nirmala Sitharaman.
v.The Nairobi Package contains a series of six Ministerial Decisions on agriculture, cotton and issues related to least-developed countries.

10. INTERNATIONAL TENNIS FEDERATION ANNOUNCED WINNERS OF 2015 WORLD CHAMPIONS
i.The International Cricket Council announced the winners for the 2015 ICC Awards in Dubai, UAE.
ii.The awards were based on performance of individuals and teams, both men and women.
iii. List of awardees:
a)  Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year is given to Steven Smith (Australia)
b)  ICC Test Cricketer of the Year - Steven Smith (Australia)
c)   ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year - AB de Villiers (South Africa)
d)  ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year - Meg Lanning (Australia)
e)  ICC Emerging Cricketer of the Year - Josh Hazlewood (Australia)
f)    ICC Associate and Affiliate Cricketer of the Year - Khurram Khan (UAE)
g)  ICC Twenty20 International Performance of the Year - Faf du Plessis (South Africa)
