1. 7TH CENTRAL PAY COMMISSION HEADED BY JUSTICE AK MATHUR SUBMITTED ITS REPORT
i. The 7th Central Pay Commission headed by Justice AK Mathur submitted its report to the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
ii. The commission has recommended 23.55 percent hike in pay and allowances of government employees.
iii. The recommended pay revision will come into effect from 1 January 2016.
iv. The minimum pay for government employees is recommended to be set at 18000 rupees per month.
v. One Rank One Pension proposed for civilian government employees on line of OROP for armed forces.

2. 2ND WORLD CONGRESS ON DISASTER MANAGEMENT STARTED IN VISAKHAPATNAM
i. The second World Congress on Disaster Management has started in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
ii. It was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
iii. It was jointly hosted by the Disaster Management, Infrastructure and Control Society and Andhra Pradesh government.

3. NITISH KUMAR TO TAKE OATH AS BIHAR CM FOR 5TH TIME
i. Janta Dal United leader Nitish Kumar will be sworn-in as Chief Minister of Bihar for the fifth time today.
ii. Rashtirye Janta Dal president Lalu Prasad's son MLA Tejaswi Prasad Yadav  will sworn in as  deputy Chief Minister.

4. UNHCR SELECTED FOR INDIRA GANDHI PRIZE FOR PEACE, DISARMAMENT AND DEVELOPMENT FOR 2015
i. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is chosen for the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development for 2015.
ii. The jury was headed by Vice President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari on birth annniversary of Indira Gandhi.
iii. UNHCR was chosen for the award in recognition of its immense contributions in helping millions of refugees in their rehabilitation and resettlement.
iv. United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was established on 1950 by the UN General Assembly with an aim to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide.

5. CCEA APPROVED EXTENSION OF INDIAN DEVELOPMENT AND ECONOMIC ASSISTANCE SCHEME
i. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved extension of Indian Development and Economic Assistance Scheme for next five years from 2015-16 to 2019-20.
ii. It was approved by the Prime Minister presiding CCEA in view of continued relevance of the scheme.
iii. The main aim of the scheme is to promote India's strategic political and economic interest abroad by positioning it as an emerging economic power, investor country and partner for developing countries.

6. RAM KRISHAN TRIVEDI, THE FORMER GUJARAT GOVERNOR AND CEC, DIED
i. Former Gujarat Governor Ram Krishna Trivedi died on 19 November after prolonged illness in Lucknow.
ii. He also served as the Chief Election Commissioner from 1982 to  1985.
iii. He was the first person to introduce the voter ID cards in Indian Elections.

1. WORLD TOILET DAY OBSERVED ON 19 NOVEMBER
i. World Toilet Day was observed on 19 November across the world.
ii. The theme of the world toilet day was Sanitation and Nutrition.
iii. The main aim of the world toilet day is to raise awareness among the people in the world who don’t have access to a toilet.
iv. Indian government launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on 2 October 2014 to clean india and government is planning to spend 134000 crore rupees by 2019 to construct 11 crore 11 lakh toilets.

2. GLOBAL TERRORISM INDEX 2015 RELEASED BY INSTITUTE FOR ECONOMICS AND PEACE 
i. Institute for Economics and Peace released Global Terrorism Index 2015.
ii. It is a summary of the impact of terrorism in 162 countries regarding lives lost, injuries, property damage and number of incidents.
iii. According to this report deaths from terrorism increased 80 percent in 2014 to the highest level ever.
iv. Iraq topped in list of terrorism and India was ranked sixth in the list.
v. Global Terrorism Index  was launched by the Institute for Economics & Peace,it ranks countries by the impact of terrorist.

3.’ EK KADAM UNNATI KI AUR’ INITIATIVE LAUNCHED BY INTEL FROM TELANGANA
i. Intel India launched Ek Kadam Unnati Ki Aur initiative from Nadimpalle village in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana.
ii. The main of the programme is to promote digitalization in rural India.
iii. It will be implemented in 10 states across the country.

4. JUSTICE T. S. THAKUR APPOINTED AS THE NEW CHIEF JUSTICE OF INDIA
i. The President has appointed Justice Tirath Singh Thakur as the Chief Justice of India.
ii. President appoints new chief justice by  exercising the powers given under article 124 of the Constitution of India,
iii. Justice Thakur is the 43rd Chief Justice of India.

5. UNION CABINET APPROVED GERMAN AS ADDITIONAL FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN KENDRIYA VIDYALAYAS
i. Union Cabinet gave its approval for German as additional foreign language in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
ii. German language will now be taught as an additional foreign language in KVs.
iii. It was agreed to support the respective programmes and efforts in India and Germany to broaden knowledge of each other’s languages in accordance with the National Policy of each country.

6. WADA SUSPENDS RUSSIAN ANTI-DOPING AGENCY
i. World Anti-Doping Agency has suspended Russia's anti-doping agency.
ii. The decision had been taken after Russian anti doping agency had been implicated in the scandal and was accused of destroying samples requested for analysis by WADA.
iii. World Anti-Doping Agency is a foundation created through a collective initiative led by the International Olympic Committee established on  1999 in Lausanne, Switzerland, to fight against drugs in sports.

7. INDIAN CYCLISTS WON FIVE MEDALS IN TRACK ASIA CUP
i. Indian cyclists won five medals on the opening day of the Track Asia Cup in new delhi.
ii. The cyclists won one gold medal, three silver medals and one bronze medal in Track asia cup.
iii. Anu Chutia grabbed a silver medal in the 500m race in the junior women category
iv. Deborah grabbed a silver medal in new national record time of 35.77 seconds.
v. Junior women team of Anu Chutia and Rajesh Nayana won a gold medal in Team Sprint event.
vi. The women elite team of Deborah and Kezia Vargheese grabbed silver in Team Sprint.
vii. The trio of Emerson, Arkaprava Baul and Ranjith Singh grabbed one bronze in Team Sprint event in junior men category.

1. ZARIN DARUWALA APPOINTED AS CEO OF STANCHART BANK INDIA
i. Zarin Daruwala appointed as Chief Executive Officer  of Standard Chartered Bank, India.
ii. She has replaced Sunil Kaushal, who is appointed as Regional CEO for Africa and West Asia.
iii. Standard Chartered Bank is a British multinational banking and financial services company headquartered in London.

2. CHINA’S TIANHE-II SUPERCOMPUTER NAMED AS THE WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL SUPERCOMPUTER SYSTEM
i. China’s Tianhe-II supercomputer is named as the world’s most powerful supercomputer system for the sixth consecutive time.
ii. It was stated in 46th edition of Top500 list of supercomputers.
iii. The Top500 list is published after every 2 years.

3. FOUNDATION OF MEGA FOOD PARK IN TELANGANA LAID
i. Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal has laid the foundation stone of the first Mega Food Park in Telangana.
ii. It is the first Mega Food Park in Telangana and will be set up with the project cost of Rs. 108.95 crore.
iii. Mega Food Park aims to provide modern infrastructure facilities to the market with strong backward and forward linkages.

4. PRITHVI RAJ SINGH ELECTED TO BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF WORLD WATER COUNCIL
i. Prithvi Raj Singh of Jal Bhagirathi Foundation was elected to Board of Governors of World Water Council  for 2016-18.
ii. The elections took place during the seventh General Assembly of WWC Members in Marseille, France.
iii. World Water Council is an international platform to facilitate the efficient conservation, protection, management, development, planning,  and use of water in all its dimensions.
iv. It was established in 1996 and headquartered in Marseille, France.

5. DELHI TO HOST THE 1ST INTERNATIONAL QAWWALI FESTIVAL 2016
i. Delhi is going host the first International Qawwali Festival 2016
ii. The festival is named as ’ Taali Ho’ going to be held from 12 February 2015 to 14 February 2015.

6. IAMAI RELEASED INTERNET IN INDIA 2015 REPORT
i. Internet and Mobile Association of India released a report ‘Internet in India 2015 report’
ii. The report stated the usage of internet on different devices  in different areas (village and urban) and among different demographic segments.
iii. The report has stated that India is the  the second-largest in internet users in the world after China.

7. KIREN RIJIJU HONOURED WITH DISASTER RISK REDUCTION ASIA CHAMPION TITLE
i. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, declared as the Disaster Risk Reduction champion for the Asia Region by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction.
ii. Kiren Rijiju has became the first Indian to be conferred with this honour.

iii. The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction was established in December 1999 and its main purpose is the implementation of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction.

1. SYED AKBARUDDIN IS INDIA’S NEXT PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE TO UN
i. Syed Akbaruddin is appointed as India’s next Permanent Representative to United Nations.
ii. Syed Akbaruddin is currently serving as an Additional Secretary in Ministry of External Affairs .
iii. He will replace Asoke Mukerji.
iv. The United Nations is an intergovernmental organization to promote international co-operation

2. NEPAL FOOTBALL CHIEF GANESH THAPA BANNED BY FIFA
i. FIFA has banned Nepal's football chief Ganesh Thapa for 10 years for corruption.
ii. FIFA accused Thapa of committing various acts of misconduct in 2009 and 2011 during elections at the Asian Football Confederation congress.
iii. FIFA means The Fédération Internationale de Football Association is the governing body of association football.

5. UNION MINISTRY OF FINANCE CONSTITUTED THE GOVERNING COUNCIL OF THE NATIONAL INVESTMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE FUND
i. Union Ministry of Finance constituted the Governing Council  of the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund.
ii. The Governing Council was mandated to consider approval of guidelines for Investment of Trust property and Corpus of NIIF and parameters for appointment and performance of investment managers/ advisors among others.
iii. National Investment and Infrastructure Fund is set up to support new and stressed projects and help restart the investment cycle.
iv. Initial corpus of National Investment and Infrastructure Fund is 20000 crore rupees.

6. ODISHA IMPLEMENTED NATIONAL FOOD SECURITY ACT, 2013 IN 14 DISTRICTS
i. National Food Security Act 2013 was implemented in 14 districts of Odisha on 16 November 2015.
ii. The beneficiaries would get 5 kg of rice at 3 rupees or 5 kg of wheat at 2 rupees from Public Distribution centres in the 14 districts.
iii. The National Food Security Act, 2013 is an Act of the Parliament of India which aims to provide subsidized food grains.
