1. SINDHU WINS MAIDEN SUPER SERIES PREMIER TITLE
I. Olympic silver medallist P.V. Sindhu clinched her maiden Super Series Premier title.
ii.She defeated  Sun Yu of China in the finals.

2. PRADHANMANTRI GRAMEEN AWAS YOJNA TO PROVIDE 3 CRORE AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS ACROSS COUNTRY
I. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched Pradhanmantri Grameen Awas Yojna, an ambitious
housing scheme meant for rural poor in Agra.
II. The scheme aims to provide affordable houses to all those living below the poverty line by the year 2022.

3. ASHWIN 1ST BOWLER EVER TO TAKE 50 WICKETS IN CONSECUTIVE YEARS
I. Ravichandran Ashwin with his 5-wicket haul against England in the Visakhapatnam Test, became  the first bowler ever to complete 50 wickets in two consecutive calendar years.
 ii. He took 62 wickets in 9 Tests in 2015 and has so far claimed 52 wickets in 9 Tests in 2016.

4. UNIVERSAL CHILDREN'S DAY IS OBSERVED ON NOVEMBER 20
I. United Nations Universal Children’s Day is celebrated on November 20th each year.

i. Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and Al Nahyan conferred with prestigious Mother Teresa International Award.
ii. The prestigious Mother Teresa International Award is given  by the Mumbai-based NGO Harmony Foundation.
iii. Shaikh Abdullah was honoured for his work in establishing institutions that protect youth from being brainwashed and radicalised from terrorist groups.

6. MANAVJIT SINGH SANDHU GRABBED GOLD MEDAL FOR NATIONAL SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP
i Manavjit Singh Sandhu clinched the gold medal in men’s trap event at the 60th National Shooting Championship for Shotgun in Jaipur .
ii. Manavjit Singh Sandhu defeated Raninder Singh.
iii. Manavjit Singh an Indian sport shooter from Punjab specialized in trap shooting.
iv. He is a 4-time olympian as well as Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Awardee in 2006 and Arjuna Awardee in 1998.

1. SPRINTER DHARAMBIR HANDED EIGHT-YEAR BAN
i. Haryana sprinter Dharambir Singh, who was barred from representing the country in the Rio Olympics at the last minute for failing a dope test, has been slapped an eight-year ban.
II. The ban is imposed by the National Anti-Doping Agency.

2. TCS AWARDED DIGITAL INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR
i. India's IT majorTata Consultancy Services has been awarded 'Digital Innovator of the Year' in the Ecosystem Excellence category.
ii. The '2016 Digital Innovator of the Year' award recognises TCS innovation and excellence in developing the TCS Digital StoreTM, an expanding suite of ready-to-use digital solutions.

 3. INDIA-CHINA JOINT MILITARY EXERCISE 'HAND-IN-HAND' BEGINS IN PUNE
i. The 6th Indo-China joint training exercise Hand- in- Hand 2016 commenced at the parade ground in Aundh Military Camp, Pune.
ii. The exercise will finish on 27 November 2016.
iii. The joint exercise intends to acquaint both the Armies with each other’s operating procedures in the backdrop of counter-terrorism environment.

1. CHHATTISGARH BECOMES FIRST STATE TO ADOPT RESOLUTION SUPPORTING DEMONETIZATION MOVE
i. Chhattisgarh has become the first state in the country to adopt a resolution of supporting the demonetization of high-value currency notes decision of the central government
ii. This decision to adopt a resolution was taken in the state legislative assembly headed by the Chief Minister Raman Singh.
ii. Union government has adopted new measures to tackle the problems faced by the people regarding the demonetization of 500 and 1000 rupees notes.
iii. Famers have been allowed to withdraw up to Rs 25,000 per week from bank account. Business entities have also been allowed to withdraw Rs 50,000 per week.
iv. In case of Wedding Ceremony, Families having marriage at home can withdraw Rs 2, 50,000 per person from bank account.

2. SACHIN TENDULKAR ADOPTED PUTTAMRAJUVARI KANDRIGA VILLAGE IN AP
i. Indian Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar inaugurated projects worth Rs 6 crore at his adopted village of Puttamrajuvari Kandriga in Andhra Pradesh.
ii. He adopted village under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna .It would be developed with an amount of Rs 3.05 crore
iii.Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna  is a rural development programme.

3. HDFC’S ADITYA PURI RANKED 36 IN FORTUNE’S TOP 50 BUSINESS PERSON’S LIST
i. HDFC Bank’s Managing Director, Aditya Puri, has been ranked 36th in the US magazine Fortune’s Top 50 Business Persons List for 2016. He is the only Indian among three persons of Indian origin in the global rankings list.
ii. Ajita Rajendra of AO Simith is at 34 while Mastercard’s Ajay Banga is at 40th positionin the list.
iii. However, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerburg leads the list with top ranking.

4. RUSSIA WITHDRAWS FROM INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT
i. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, has signed an executive order announcing Russia’s withdrawal from the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
ii. This means crimes committed by Russian citizens will no longer fall under the jurisdiction of the ICC.
iii. The excecutive order was signed by Russia just after ICC released a report blaming Russia’s illegal capture over Crimea.

5. GULZAR AWARDED 2016 POET LAUREATE AWARD
i. Veteran lyricist, writer and filmmaker Gulzar has been awarded Poet Laureate award 2016 at the Mumbai’s literary festival ‘Tata Literature Live’.

ii. Gulzar’s contribution to Indian literature through his heart-touching poetry makes him the top choice for the award.

1. INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR TOLERANCE 2016 OBSERVED ACROSS THE WORLD
i. The International Day for Tolerance is observed globally on 16 November every year.
ii. The Day aims at educating masses about the need for tolerance in society and helping them understand the negative effects of intolerance.

2. UNION BUDGET TO BE PRESENTED ON FEBRUARY 1
i. The government has announced that it will present the Union Budget for 2017-18 on February 1 and the budget session may begin in January.
ii. The government had approved the scrapping of the 92-year old practice of presenting a separate Railway Budget and merged it with the Union Budget.

3. INDIA, ADB SIGN $500 MILLION LOAN PACT TO BUILD 9.8-KM GANGA BRIDGE IN BIHAR
i. The Asian Development Bank and the Government of India on 15 November 2016 signed a 500 million US dollar loan to build a 9.8 km long road bridge across the Ganges River.
ii. This will be India’s longest river bridge.

4. PADMINI ROUT WINS NATIONAL WOMEN PREMIER CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THIRD TIME
i. International Chess Master Padmini Rout won the National Women Premier Chess Championship for the third time.
ii. The Rout played out a draw with her Petroleum Sports Promotion Board teammate Eesha Karavade that made her achieve the hat-trick of title wins.
iii. S Vijayalakshmi of Air India won the silver medal while Karavade grabbed the bronze.

5. CHINA’S SUMWAY TAIHULIGHT WINS FASTEST SUPERCOMPUTER TITLE
i.China’s ‘Sumway Taihulight’ has won the fastest supercomputer title in the 48th edition of Top500 list of supercomputers.
ii. Chinese supercomputer has retained the top spot in the list of the world’s fastest supercomputers for the eighth consecutive year
iii. TaihuLight supercomputer TaihuLight is built entirely using processors designed and made in China.

(1336 - 1565 A.D.)
The empire was founded by Harihara-I and Bukka-I, two of the five sons of Sangama. Harihara and Bukka were in the service of the Raya of Kampili. When Bahauddin Gurshap, a cousin of Mohd. bin Tughlaq, revolted and took refuge with the Raya of Kampili, the Sultan attacked Kampili and annexed it to the Delhi Sultanate. During the course of this war, Harihara and Bukka were both made prisoners of war and taken to Delhi. In 1335, when Tughlaq possessions in the south were in a stage of general turmoil, the Sultan released them and sent as commanders of the Tughlaq troops to restore order in the south, where they came under the influence of a sage and declared their independence.
·         Harihara and Bukka, who founded the empire in 1336, were the sons of Sangama and named the first dynasty of Vijaynagar after their father as Sangama Dynasty (1336-1485).
·         The second dynasty, founded by Saluva Narasimha, known as Saluva dynasty, ruled from 1485 to 1505.
·         The third dynasty, known as Tuluva ruled from 1503 to 1570.
·         The fourth or the Aravidu dynasty ruled till about the middle of the seventeenth century.

BAHMANI KINGDOM
·         Bahmani Kingdom was a parallel kingdom north of Vijayanagar in the same period.
·         It was founded in 1347 by Allaudin Hassan who claimed himself to be descendent of a famous Iranian Royal family and assumed title of ‘Bahman Shah
·         He also had a Brahmin Guru, Gangu, hence he is also known as ‘Hassan Gangu’
·         He made his capital in Gulbarga in Karnataka.

The important kings who expanded and consolidated the Bahmani Kingdom were:
1. Taj-ud-din Firoz Shah Bahman (1397-1422):
·         He was educated and learned man and knew many languages.
·         He built astronomical observatory in Daulatabad.
·         He married daughter of Dev Raya I and was later defeated by him.
·         He was succeeded by his brother Ahmad Shah.

2. Ahmad Shah (1422-1435):
·         Also known as Wali as he was treated as Sufi Saint.
·         He shifted the capital from Gulbarga to Bidar
·         A famous north Indian saint Gesu Daraz (Long Haired), a saint of Chisti Silsila, visited during this period.

1. MOON CAME CLOSE TO EARTH AFTER 1948
i. The moon arrived at its closest point to the Earth since 1948.
ii. The 'supermoon' reached its brightest in Asia on 14 November 2016.
iii. The Moon was closest, only 2 lakh 21 thousand 524 miles .

2. RBI SETS UP PANEL TO OVERSEE ATM RECALIBRATIONS
i. RBI will set up a task force under Deputy Governor SS Mundra to oversee recalibration of ATM machines after the country introduced new banknotes to replace old 500 rupee and 1,000 rupee notes.
 ii. The Panel will provide "direction and guidance" for recalibrating ATM machines to dispense the new notes.

3. PRESIDENT MUKHERJEE INAUGURATES THE INDIA INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR IN DELHI
i. President Pranab Mukherjee has inaugurated the India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan, New delhi which will see participation of over 150 companies from 27 countries.
ii. The theme of the year is 'Digital India'.

4. THIRUVANANTHAPURAM BECOMES COUNTRY'S 'BREAST CANCER CAPITAL'
i. Thiruvananthapuram has been termed as the country's breast cancer capital, with cases at a record high of 40 per lakh of population.
ii. 9 lakh women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year.
iii. The revelation was made during the Kerala Chapter of Indian Radiological and Imaging Association Conference.

5. INDIA'S FIRST CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL STARTS IN MEGHALAYA
i. Meghalaya became the first state to start India's first Cherry Blossom Festival, which is widely celebrated in Japan.
ii. The four-day festival will also provide opportunities to showcase the unique beauty of pink and white cherry blossoms as well as Meghalaya's traditional arts, culture and cuisine to the naturalists and tourists.

6. GOLFER CHAWRASIA WINS FIRST ASIAN TOUR TITLE OUTSIDE INDIA
i. Indian golfer SSP Chawrasia clinched the $1 million Resorts World Manila Masters in the Philippines, his first ever Asian Tour title outside India.

ii. Chawrasia beat Malaysian Nicolas Fung and American Sam Chen on the final day of the tournament.
