Zahir-ud-din Muhammad Babur (1526 – 1530):
·         Defeated Ibrahim Lodi at Panipat in 1526 and founded the Mughal Empire in India.
·         He was a descendant of Timur on his father’s side and of Chengiz Khan on the side of his mother.
·         On the death of his father Umar Shaikh Mirza, Babur inherited the ancestral kingdom of Farghana in 1494 and invaded India five times. The first real expedition took place in 1519 when he captured Bhera, and he fifth was the defeat of Ibrahim Lodi the first battle of Panopat in April 1526.
·         He defeated Raja of Mewar, Sangram Singh or Rana Sanga, in battle that took place 1527 at Khanwa.
·         In 1528, he captured Chanderi from a Rajput Chief Medini Rai and a year later he defeated the Afghan chiefs under Mahmud Lodi in the battle of Ghaghra in Bihar.
·         In 1530, he died at Agra. His tomb is at Lahore (The tomb of only two Mughal emperors are outside India i.e. Babur and Bahadur Shah Zafar).
·         His autobiography, Tuzuk-i-Baburi or Baburnamah, which he wrote in his mother-tongue Turki gave detail account of his reign.

i. The autobiography of India’s Sachin Tendulkar “Playing it my way” has won the prestigious Crossword Book of the Year Award in the Autobiography category.
ii. The book is penned by Boria Majumdar.
iii. Earlier, it also had entered the Limca Book of World Records for being the best selling.

3. ANDHRA PRADESH CM CHANDRABABU TO HEAD CENTRAL COMMITTEE TO PROMOTE E-PAYMENTS
i. NITI Aayog under the banner of the Union Government, constituted a 13-member committee to promote cashless economy.
ii. The committee will be headed by Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu.
iii. The committee will be formed by Chief Ministers of various states representing different political parties to examine and promote the use of digital payment systems across the country.
iv. The Committee will identify the best global practices for implementing an economy primarily based on digital payment.

i. Susan Kiefel has been named Australia's first female High Court chief justice – ending 113 years of men leading the nation's highest court.

4. UTKARSH MICRO FINANCE GETS FINAL NOD TO SET UP SMALL FINANCE BANK
i. Varanasi-based micro-finance institution Utkarsh Micro Finance has received the final license from The Reserve Bank of India to start operations as Small Finance Bank .
ii. In October 2015, Utkarsh Micro Finance had got the "in-principle" approval to set up SFB as per the guidelines issued by the RBI.

5. PLANE CARRYING BRAZILIAN FOOTBALLERS CRASHES IN COLOMBIA
i. A chartered plane with 81 people on board, including members of Brazilian football club Chapecoense, crashed in Colombia with all of them feared dead.
ii. The plane was travelling from Bolivia to Medellín, where the team was scheduled to play the Copa Sudamericana's final.

i. Akodara village in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat recently declared as first digital village in India.
ii. The village, will use various cashless systems for payments of goods and services.
iii. All transactions in the village are carried out through digital modes like net-banking, SMS or debit cards.

2. INDIA’S FIRST CYCLE HIGHWAY INAUGURATED IN UP
i. Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav has inaugurated India’s first and Asia’s longest bicycle highway between Agra and Etawah in UP.
ii. A rally of 90 cyclists from five countries and across India followed the inauguration ceremony at the Lion Safari in Etawah.

3. BAPU'S CHARKHA AMONG 100 'MOST INFLUENTIAL PHOTOS OF ALL TIME'
i. A 1946 picture of Mahatma Gandhi with his Charkha in the foreground is among the 100 most influential images of all time .
ii. The Time collection includes 100 of the most iconic and history-altering images, dating from the 1820s to 2015.
iii. Among the pictures is the tragic photo of the lifeless body of three-year-old Syrian Alan Kurdi lying face down on the shore near the coastal town of Bodrum.

1. INDIAN TEAM WINS SILVER IN WORLD ROBOT OLYMPIAD
i. Team “High Voltage” from India (Gurugram) won a silver in the 13th World Robot Olympiad.
ii. Over 2,000 students from over 50 countries showcased innovative solutions using robotics technology to reduce, manage and recycle waste.

2. INDIA BEAT MALAYSIA TO FINISH THIRD IN FOUR NATIONS HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
i. Indian Hockey team defeated Malaysia  in the third-place playoff match to secure bronze in the 4 Nations Tournament in Melbourne.
ii.  Akashdeep, captain VR Raghunath, Talwinder Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh scored goals for the country.

3. ICICI BANK’S ADOPTED AKODARA VILLAGE BECOMES INDIA’S FIRST DIGITAL VILLAGE
i. A tiny village Akodara in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat has become the first Digital Village in India.
ii. The village is adopted by the ICICI Bank under Digital Village project in 2015 that developed it as a digitized village with a rural branch of the bank.India’s First Digital Village
iii. The campaign was committed to connect rural India with high speed internet networks, create a digital infrastructure, and improve digital literacy in the country.

4. ANDHRA PRADESH CM CHANDRABABU NAIDU TO HEAD CMS COMMITTEE ON DEMONETISATION
i. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been nominated by the Central Government to head the sub-committee of Chief Ministers of five States constituted to deal with the situation arising out of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination notes.
ii. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley requested Chandrabab Naidu to head the committee which would study various aspects after demonetization and how it has affected different sections of the people.
iii. Chief Ministers Sivaraj Singh Chauhan, Nitish Kumar, Narayana Swamy and Manik Sirkar will be the other members
iv. The main aims is to stop the Opposition’s attack on the Centre’s demonetization decision.
v. The Opposition organised ‘Jan Aakrosh Diwas’ on November 28 to protest against the move.

2. NGO STARTS 16-DAY CAMPAIGN ‘EVERY 8 MINUTES’ AGAINST CHILD TRAFFICKING
i. Association for Promoting Social Action a NGO starts 16-day campaign 'Every8Minutes'against child trafficking.
ii. It is launched to create awareness against child trafficking and missing children in the city.
iii. The step was taken after a report released by National Crime Records Bureau showed that a child goes missing in India every eight minutes and 40 per cent of these children remain untraced.

1. E-COMMERCE FIRMS LIKE FLIPKART AND SNAPDEAL TO DEDUCT TCS UNDER GST
i. According to the new GST law E-commerce giants Flipkart and Snapdeal will have to deduct 2% TCS while making payments to their suppliers.
ii. The new model GST law provides for 1 per cent TCS and 1 per cent tax levied on inter-state movement of goods.

2. INSOLVENCY AND BANKRUPTCY BOARD SETS UP TWO ADVISORY PANELS
i. The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India has sets up 2 high-level committees under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code to consolidate and amend laws.
ii. The Advisory committee on service providers consists of 9 members, the panel is lead by educationist Mohandas Pai.
iii. Corporate insolvency and liquidation panel is chaired by noted banker Uday Kotak.
