1.      TRAIN 18: INDIA’S FIRST ENGINELESS TRAIN SET FOR TRIALS
i. India released its first semi-high speed train called- Train 18.
ii. It is India’s first engineless train .
iii. It cost nearly Rs 100 crore and will cut travel time by 15 per cent compared to the Shatabdi.

2.      WORLD’S LARGEST AIRPORT ‘UNDER ONE ROOF’ OPENED IN ISTANBUL, TURKEY
i. The world’s largest airport terminal under one roof with a capacity to serve 90 million passengers was opened in Istanbul, Turkey.
ii. The airport has been envisioned to have a total capacity of up to 200 million passengers, once all four phases are completed in the next 10 years.

3.      ASIAN HOCKEY CHAMPIONS TROPHY (MEN’S HOCKEY): INDIA & PAKISTAN DECLARED JOINT WINNERS,AKASHDEEP SINGH BEST PLAYER OF THE TOURNAMENT
i. India and Pakistan jointly won the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy title in Muscat, Oman.
ii. India’s Akashdeep Singh was adjudged player of the tournament.
iii. Both India and Pakistan were declared joint winners of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy.

1.      RBI TO INJECT RS 40,000 CR INTO BANKING SYSTEM VIA OMO IN NOVEMBER 2018
i. Reserve Bank of India decided to inject Rs 40,000 crore in the banking system on November 2018.
ii. This will done through purchase of government securities under open market operations for an aggregate amount of Rs. 400 billion in the month of November 2018.
iii. This will help ease cash shortage in the system and stabilise debt market rates.
iv. Recently in October , RBI had announced to conduct Rs 36,000 crore worth of OMO purchase.

2.      MICROSOFT OVERTOOK AMAZON AS WORLD’S 2ND MOST VALUABLE COMPANY
i. Microsoft overtook Amazon and regained its spot as the world’s second most valuable company after Apple Inc.
ii. Microsoft has a m-cap of $823 billion whereas, Amazon.com has a worth of $805 billion.
Apple Inc tops the list at over $1 trillion

3.      SIMONA HALEP BECOMES FIRST RECIPIENT OF CHRIS EVERT WTA WORLD NO.1 TROPHY
i. world number one Simona Halep has become the first recipient of the Chris Evert Women’s Tennis Association World No.1 Trophy.
ii. The Chris Evert WTA World No.1 Trophy has been named after WTA’s first-ever world number one Chris Evert.
iii. She was also the first player to hold the distinction of WTA Year-End World No.1.

1.      INDIAN RAILWAYS TO BUILD WORLD’S HIGHEST RAILWAY LINE IN LADAKH REGION
i. Indian railways announced the world’s highest railway line that will run along the India-China border.
ii. The rail line will have a highest road point of 5,360 metres above mean sea level.
iii. It will reduce the time to connect New Delhi with Ladakh region from currently 40 hours to 20 hours, through building strategically-important Bilaspur-Manali- Leh line along the Indo-China border

2.      BLUE REVOLUTION: INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF FISHERIES LAUNCHED BY MEGHALAYA
i. Meghalaya launched the flagship scheme “Blue Revolution: Integrated Development and Management of Fisheries”.
ii. This would enable self-sufficiency in fish production.

3.      TAG INDEX: KERALA & MUMBAI THE BEST STATE & CITY FOR TEENAGE GIRLS IN INDIA
i. Kerala topped the T een Age Girls  Report, conducted by Project Nanhi Kali,
ii. This is the nation’s first report on what it means to be a teenage girl in India.
iii. The parameters for the measurement of the TAG index were:Current enrolment in educational,institutions,Child marriage,Open defecation,Hygienic menstrual practices etc
iv. Kerala topped the charts followed by Mizoram, Sikkim, Manipur and Himachal Pradesh.

1.      GLOBAL AGRICULTURE LEADERSHIP SUMMIT 2018 HELD IN NEW DELHI
i. It aimed to provide the platform towards facilitating farmers connect with the technologies, markets, industry, institutions and the Governmental programs.
ii. The theme of the summit was: ‘Connecting Farmers to Market’.
iii. The chairman of the summit was: Prof. M. S. Swaminathan, Architect of India’s Green Revolution.
iv. Life Time Achievement Award for 2018 is given to Padamsree Dr. KH Gharda
International Leadership Award is given to  Prof. Rudy Rabbinge of Netherlands

2.      SUPREME COURT ISSUES FINAL DEADLINE FOR BHARAT STAGE IV CARS AS APRIL 1, 2020
i. The Supreme Court stated that, no Bharat Stage IV vehicle shall be sold across India with effect from April 1, 2020.
ii. The Bharat Stage VI  emission norm will come to effect from April 1, 2020 throughout India.
iii. BS IV norms have been followed throughout India since April 2017.
iv. Central Government had announced that India will skip the BS-V norms and adopt BS-VI norms by 2020.

3.      INDIA, BANGLADESH SIGNED AGREEMENTS FOR ENHANCING WATERWAYS CONNECTIVITY
i. India and Bangladesh signed several agreements for enhancing inland and coastal waterways connectivity between the two countries for trade and cruise movements.
ii. The MOUs are signed to use  Chattogram and Mongla Ports in Bangladesh for movement of goods to and from India.
iii. ‘Protocol on Inland Water Transit and Trade’ between India and Bangladesh for inclusion of Dhubriin India and Pangaonin Bangladesh as new Ports of Call
iv. Ports of Kolkata and Haldia in India and Mongla in Bangladesh directly connected to north east through waterways
v. Movement of passengers and cruise vessels on Inland Protocol route and coastal shipping routes to commence between Kolkata – Dhaka – Guwahati – Jorhat and back
Reconstruction and opening up of Jangipur navigational lock on river Bhagirathi
To connect Gelephu (Bhutan) as tripartite cross-border route

1.      DR JITENDRA SINGH INAUGURATES 10TH NUCLEAR ENERGY CONCLAVE IN NEW DELHI
i. Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurates 10th Nuclear Energy Conclave in New Delhi
Theme of the conclave was: “Nuclear Power: Towards A Clean And Base Load Energy”.
ii. It was organized on “Growth of Nuclear Power: Fleet Mode Implementation” and ‘Nuclear Energy Applications in Medical and Agriculture’ and ‘Long term perspective of Nuclear Power’ were  conducted.

2.      $777 MILLION DEAL SIGNED BETWEEN INDIA AND ISRAEL FOR ISRAELI MISSILE DEFENCE SYSTEMS
i. India’s Bharat Electronics Limited  signed a pact with Israel Aerospace Industries worth USD 777 million.
ii. Under this contract, the IAI will supply Barak 8 Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile Air and Missile Defence systems for 7 ships of the Indian Navy.

3.      PUNJAB & ISRAEL SIGNED 4 MOUS FOR AGRI RESEARCH, WATER CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT
i. The Punjab government signed 4 MoUs with Israeli institutions to address issues of farmers and depleting groundwater level in the state.
ii. The MoUs will help boost cooperation between Punjab and Israel in areas such as water conservation as well as agricultural research and education.
iii. The MOU are signed for For water conservation and management,For agricultural research and student exchange and seminars, Tel Aviv University  and Galilee International Management Institute.

1.      INDIA, IRAN, AFGHANISTAN HOLD FIRST TRILATERAL ON CHABAHAR PORT PROJECT
i. India, Afghanistan and Iran held their first trilateral meeting on Chabahar port project in Tehran, Iran.
ii. The meeting held discussions on full operationalisation of the trilateral Agreement for international transit and transport through Chabahar port.
iii. In May 2016, India, Iran and Afghanistan had signed a pact for establishment of a transit and transport corridor among the three countries using Chabahar Port as one of the regional hubs.

2.      SIX-MEMBER OVERSEEING COMMITTEE  SET UP TO RESOLVE STRESSED ASSETS
i. The Overseeing Committee that is formed up under the inter-creditor agreement  for resolution of stressed assets will have 6 members.
ii. The members of committee includes Janki Ballabh (former Chairman, State Bank of India), MBN Rao (former Chairman & Managing Director, Canara Bank), M Damodaran (former Chairman, SEBI) and HR Khan (former Deputy Governor, RBI).
iii. Overseeing Committee is set up under the administration of Indian Banks’ Association.
It will approve resolution plans for stressed assets submitted by lead lenders.

3.      PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI TO BE AWARDED THE 2018 SEOUL PEACE PRIZE
i. The Seoul Peace Prize Committee has decided to confer the 2018 Seoul Peace Prize on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
ii. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is conferred this award in recognition of his efforts to improve international cooperation, global economic growth, Human Development of people of India, economic growth in the world’s fastest growing large economy and development of democracy through anti-corruption and social integration efforts.

1.      “HARIT DIWALI-SWASTH DIWALI” CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED BY MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT
i. Environment Ministry launched the 2nd edition of Harit Diwali, Swasth Diwali campaign.
ii. It was initiated in 2017-18 and is aimed at pledging to minimize bursting of crackers.
iii. This edition has been merged with “Green Good Deed” movement for conservation and protection of environment.
This campaign advise to celebrate Diwali in an environment-friendly manner.

2.      “IRON MAGIC 19”: UAE, US KICK OFF TWO-WEEK JOINT MILITARY EXERCISE
i. United Arab Emirates  and the United States started a two-week military exercise named“Iron Magic 19” in the Arabian Gulf.
ii. This exercise aims to enhance cooperation, joint actions and exchange of expertise in military areas.

3.      VICE PRESIDENT CONFERS LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI AWARD ON FALI NARIMAN
i. Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu presented the 19th Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence 2018 in Public Administration to senior advocate Fali S Nariman.
ii. The award was started in 1999 and is provided to a business leader, management practitioner, public administrator, educator or institution builder for his/her sustained individual contributions for achievements of high professional order and excellence

i. 27th International Atomic Energy Agency  Fusion Energy Conference started in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
ii. It aims to provide a platform for discussion of major physics and technology issues and innovative concepts related to the use of nuclear fusion as a source of energy.
iii. Experts from various parts of the world will discuss new challenges faced by the fusion community with respect to number of next-step fusion devices being implemented currently.

1.      ANGRIYA: FIRST CRUISE SERVICE LAUNCHED BETWEEN MUMBAI AND GOA
i. Angriya India’s first ever passenger cruise ship was launched between Mumbai and Goa.
ii. The cruise ship Angriya has been named after first Maratha Navy Admiral Kanhoji Angre and the great Angria bank coral reef near Vijaydurg, Maharashtra.

2.      INDIA’S LONGEST RIVER BRIDGE TO BE BUILT ON BRAHMAPUTRA RIVER IN ASSAM
i. India’s longest river bridge will be built across the Brahmaputra, connecting Dhubri in Assamto Phulbari in Meghalaya, by 2026-27.
ii. It will be a 19.3 km, four-lane bridge that will cut road travel by 203 km .
iii. The new bridge will complete the missing link of NH127B from Assam to Meghalaya.

3.      MAN-ANIMAL CONFLICT A ‘STATE DECLARED DISASTER’: UP GOVERNMENT
i. Uttar Pradesh government made the man-animal conflict a ‘State Declared Disaster’.
ii. The main objective is to help reduce retaliatory killings.
 iii. According to the provisions of the order, a compensatory amount of Rs.5 lakh would be given to family of deceased if the victim of the animal attack dies.

1.      INDIA’S FIRST RAILWAY STATION INSIDE TUNNEL TO COME UP IN HIMACHAL PRADESH
i. India for the first time announced a railway station named, the Keylong station, to be built inside a tunnel at a height of 3,000 metres in Himachal Pradesh.
ii. This will be built along the Bilaspur-Manali-Leh line close to the Sino-India border.
iii. The line will halve the duration taken to cover the distance between Delhi and Leh, from 40 hours to 20 hours.

2.      7TH MEETING OF EDUCATION MINISTERS OF SCO MEMBER STATES HELD IN ASTANA, KAZAKHSTAN
i. 7th meeting of education ministers of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation was held in Astana, Kazakhstan.
ii. Implementation of the agreement between the governments of SCO member states on establishing and operating USCO was approved.
iii. It was agreed to conduct the 8th meeting of education ministers of SCO member states in the Russian Federation during the Russian Federation’s presidency of SCO.

3.      MINAL PATEL DAVIS HONOURED WITH PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL FOR COMBATING HUMAN TRAFFICKING
i. Indian-American woman Minal Patel Davis, received the ‘Presidential Medal for Combating Human Trafficking‘ in the White House, USA.
ii. She received the award for her extraordinary contribution towards combatting human trafficking inHouston.
