1.      SANITATION ACTION PLANS PREPARED FOR 10 NEW SWACHH ICONIC PLACES
i. Ten new Swachh Iconic Places of the country came up with the thorough action plans for raising their sanitation standards to exemplary levels.
ii. The plans were formulated at a two-day consultation in Hyderabad held between Central and State Government agencies, local administrations and the Trusts of the iconic places.

2.      PRESIDENT INAUGURATES UDYAM SANGAM-2018 TO MARK UN SME DAY
i. President of India, Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the Udyam Sangam-2018 in New Delhi.
ii.It is a step forward towards consolidating the convergence and synergy of all the government initiatives relating to MSME Sector.
iii.The President of India launched the Solar Charkha Mission which will cover 50 clusters and every cluster will employ 400 to 2000 artisans.

3.      EAM SUSHMA SWARAJ INTRODUCES 'PASSPORT SEVA APP'
i. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj launched the new Passport Seva App.
ii.Now, people can apply for a passport from any part of the country through the App.
iii.EAM Sushma Swaraj has launched Mobile Passport Application on the occasion of Passport Seva Divas (26 June) in New Delhi.
ii. Police verification will be done on the address, provided by the applicant on the app and passport will be dispatched on the same address.

1.      INDIA, BANGLADESH NAVIES INSTITUTE ANNUAL COORDINATED PATROL: CORPAT
i. India and Bangladesh have agreed to institute Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) as an annual exercise between navies of two neighbouring countries.
ii. The first edition of CORPAT between two navies was inaugurated by Indian Navy’s Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba during his visit to Bangladesh.
iii.The aim Navy Chief’s visit was to consolidate bilateral defence relations between India and Bangladesh and to explore new avenues for naval cooperation.

2.      INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING: 26 JUNE
i. The General Assembly of United Nations has decided to observe 26 June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.
ii. The theme for 2018 is: "Listen First - Listening to children and youth is the first step to help them grow healthy and safe."

3.      PALLAVI DARUA CROWNED AS INDIA'S 1ST 'TRIBAL QUEEN'
i. Pallavi Durua, who belongs to Odisha's Koraput district, was crowned as the first Tribal Queen at the Adi Rani Kalinga Tribal Queen competition held at Utkal Mandap.
ii. Panchami Majhi of Titlagarh and Rashmirekha Hansdah of Mayurbhanj were declared as the first and second runners-up of the beauty pageant, respectively.

1.      GUJARAT LAUNCHES 'SURYASHAKTI KISAN YOJANA' FOR FARMERS
i. The Gujarat government launched a solar power scheme for farmers- Suryashakti Kisan Yojana enabling them to generate electricity for their captive consumption as well as sell the surplus power to the grid and earn an extra buck.
ii. As per the scheme, farmers having existing electricity connection will be given solar panels as per their load requirements.
iii.The State and Central governments will give 60% subsidy on the cost of the project.
iv.The farmer is required to take 5% cost, while 35% will be provided to him as an affordable loan with interest rates of 4.5-6%.

2.      SAUDI ARAMCO, ADNOC SIGNED MOU FOR REFINERY PROJECT OF MAHARASHTRA
i. Saudi Aramco and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company  have signed an MoU to jointly develop and build an integrated refinery and petrochemicals complex at Ratnagiri, Maharashtra.
ii. The MoU was signed by Amin H. Nasser, Saudi Aramco President and CEO and Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of State & ADNOC Group CEO.

3.      SEYCHELLES PRESIDENT'S VISIT TO INDIA
i. Seychelles President Danny Faure is on his first bilateral visit to India.
ii. He held the talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reviewed the wide-ranging cooperation between the two countries, including in the fields of defence and security.
iii. MOU between India and Seychelles regarding Indian Grant Assistance for Implementation of Small Development Projects through Local Bodies, Educational and Vocational Institutions,
iv.. Cultural Exchange Programme between India and Seychelles for the years 2018-2022,
v.. MOU between the Foreign Service Institute of the Ministry of External Affairs of India and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Seychelles.

1.      HM RAJNATH SINGH LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR MONGOLIAN REFINERY
i. Mongolia broke ground for the construction of country’s first oil refinery with the help of a USD 1 billion loan from India.
ii.Home Minister Rajnath Singh attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the refinery at ‘Stantsiin Hooloi’ and described it as an important milestone in the bilateral ties.

2.      ARIJIT BASU APPOINTED SBI'S NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR
i. The government appointed Arjit Basu as Managing Director of the country's largest lender State Bank of India .
ii.He will fill the position that fell vacant following the elevation of Rajnish Kumar as the chairman.

3.      MINISTRY OF WOMEN & CHILD DEVELOPMENT RECEIVED SKOCH AWARD
i. SKOCH Group has conferred the ‘Best performing Social Sector Ministry’ award on the Ministry of Women and Child Development for the achievements in delivering the promises made and for its significant achievements and initiatives from the last 4 years.
ii. Minister for Women and Child Development Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi has received the award on behalf of the Ministry in an event held in New Delhi.

1.      KOTA IN GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS FOR LARGEST YOGA SESSION
i. A Guinness World Record was created in Rajasthan’s Kota city, where more than 1.05 lakh people performed yoga to mark International Yoga Day.
ii. The event took place at R.A.C. Ground in the presence of yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.

2.      MONGOLIA LAUNCHES ITS FIRST OIL REFINERY WITH $1 BILLION INDIAN AID
i. Mongolia launched construction of its first oil refinery that is funded by India in a ceremony that was attended by Minister of Home Affairs Rajnath Singh and the Mongolian Prime Minister Khurelsukh Ukhnaa.
ii. It is planned for completion in late 2022.

3.      TOURISM MINISTER TO ATTEND INCREDIBLE INDIA ROAD SHOWS IN THE USA
i. The road shows were held in several major cities of US including New York, Chicago & Houston.
ii. This is to project India as a ‘must visit’ tourist destination.

1.      NSG PLENARY MEETING HELD IN JURMALA, LATVIA
i. The 28th Plenary Meeting of the Nuclear Suppliers Group was held in Jurmala, Latvia On 14th and 15th June 2018.
ii. The NSG plenary meeting was chaired by Ambassador Jānis Zlamets of Latvia.
iii. The NSG reviewed the developments since the last meeting in Bern in 2017. 

2.      GRAND FINALE OF THE FIRST HARDWARE EDITION OF SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2018
i. The Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Shri Prakash Javadekar inaugurated the 5 day Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2018 – Hardware edition through Video conferencing in New Delhi.
ii. Hardware edition is the first of its kind innovative initiative by Ministry of HRD to provide national platform to young technical minds of India to showcase their disruptive innovations and creative products which can bring out revolutionary changes in crucial sectors like agriculture, health, clean water, waste management, automotive, smart communication, and education.

3.      ORIENTAL BANK OF COMMERCE AWARDED FOR ATAL PENSION YOJANA
i. Oriental Bank of Commerce has been awarded as the best public sector bank for Atal Pension Yojana for the year 2017-18.
ii. MoS for Finance Shiv Pratap Shukla presented the awarded to Mukesh Kumar Jain, MD and CEO of the bank.

1.      INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY: 21 JUNE
i. The 4th International Yoga Day is being celebrated across the globe on 21st of June.
ii. The theme for Yoga Day 2018 is "Yoga for Peace".
ii. In 2015, United Nations General Assembly unanimously announced 21st June as the International day for yoga to raise awareness about the benefits of practising yoga.

2.      VISHWAS MANDALIK AND YOGA INSTITUTE IN MUMBAI RECIPIENTS OF PM AWARD
i. Vishwas Mandalik from Nasik and the Yoga Institute in Mumbai have been selected as recipients of the Prime Minister’s award for outstanding contribution for promotion and development of yoga for the year 2018.
ii. Vishwas Mandalik acquired knowledge of Patanjali and Hatha Yoga, Bhagwad Gita and Upanishad by study and research of ancient scriptures. In 1978, he set up the first branch of Yoga Vidya Dham.
iii. The Yoga Institute, established in 1918 by Yogendraji, completed its 100 years serving the society. The winners would be felicitated with a trophy, certificate and a cash award of 25 lakh rupees each.

3.      4 MOUS SIGNED UNDER ‘ADOPT A HERITAGE’ SCHEME
i. Four MoUs have been signed under ‘Adopt a Heritage’ scheme and six more are at an advanced stage, according to Mr Raghvendra Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Culture.
1. Mount Stok Kangri Trek Route, Ladakh: The MoU for adoption was signed between Ministry of Tourism, Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) and the state government of Jammu & Kashmir.
2. Gangotri Temple Area & Trail to Gaumukh, Uttarakhand: The MoU was signed between Ministry of Tourism, ATOAI and Uttarakhand Government.
3. Red Fort, Delhi: The MoU was signed between Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, ASI and Dalmia Bharat Limited.
4. Gandikota Fort, Andhra Pradesh:  The MoU was signed between Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, ASI and Dalmia Bharat Limited.

1.      INTERNATIONAL DECADE FOR ACTION: WATER FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT 2018-2028
i. Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation and Road Transport & Highways and Shipping Shri Nitin Gadkari is scheduled to visit Republic of Tajikistan to represent India in the high-level Conference on “International Decade for Action: Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” on 20-21 June 2018.
ii. United Nations and Government of Republic of Tajikistan are jointly organizing the Conference to discuss key water related issues of sustainable development goals adopted by UN member countries.

2.      7TH OPEC INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR
i. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) will host the 7th OPEC International Seminar at the Imperial Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria, on 20−21 June 2018.
ii. The theme of the Seminar is ‘Petroleum – cooperation for a sustainable future’.
iii. Seminar participants customarily include Ministers from OPEC Member Countries and other oil-producing and oil-consuming nations, as well as heads of intergovernmental organizations.

3.      UNION HRD MINISTER DEDICATES THE NATIONAL DIGITAL LIBRARY OF INDIA TO THE NATION
i. The Union Human Resource Development Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar launched the new digital initiative of HRD Ministry ‘National Digital Library of India’ on the occasion of National Reading Day in New Delhi.
ii. The objective of NDL is to make digital educational resources available to all citizens of the country to empower, inspire and encourage learning. National Digital Library of India is developed by IIT Kharagpur.
iii. It is a digital repository containing textbooks, articles, videos, audio books, lectures, simulations, fiction and all other kinds of learning media.

1.      US LEAVES THE UN HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL
i. US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have announced the US was withdrawing from the UN Human Rights Council.
ii. They claimed the council was a roadblock to genuine global human rights protection.

2.      WORLD REFUGEE DAY: 20 JUNE
i. World Refugee Day is observed every year by the people on 20th June in order to raise the public awareness about refugee’s situations throughout the world.
ii. World Refugee Day was declared on 20th of June by the United Nations General Assembly in the Resolution 55/76 on 4th of December in 2000.
iii. The Theme of World Refugee Day 2018 is: “Now more than ever, we need to stand #WithRefugees”

3.      PUNJAB GOVERNMENT LAUNCHED MOBILE APP- ‘I-HARIYALI’
i. To increase the state’s green cover, the Punjab government has launched ‘i-Hariyali’ app that lets users order free plant saplings.
ii. The ‘i-Hariyali’ app under ‘Mission Tandarust’ can be downloaded from the app store for free.
iii. The users can book a sapling of their choice, a maximum of 25 per person, from a nearby government nursery.

4.      PM MODI INAUGURATES NATURE CENTER IN NEW YORK VIA VIDEO LINK
i. On the occasion of 4th International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a nature center.
ii. PM Modi inaugurated the 'YO1 Nature Cure Center' in the Catskills area of New York through a video link.

5.      SUNIL MITTAL BECOMES HONORARY CHAIRMAN OF ICC
i. Sunil Bharti Mittal, the Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, will step down as the Chairman of International Chamber of Commerce  on June 21.
ii. He will be succeeded by Paul Polman, CEO of Unilever, as ICC Chairman.
iii. He will now function as the Honorary Chairman of the ICC commencing July 1.
iv. Ajay Banga, the President and CEO of MasterCard will be appointed as the ICC First Vice-Chair.

6.      ANUKREETHY VAS FROM TAMIL NADU CROWNED FEMINA MISS INDIA 2018
i. Anukreethy Vas, a 19-year-old Tamil Nadu college student, has been crowned Femina Miss India 2018 in a grand ceremony in Mumbai.
ii. Anukreethy Vas, who was previously crowned fbb Colours Femina Miss Tamil Nadu, beat 30 contestants to bag the top honour.
iii. Meenakshi Chaudhary from Haryana was the first runner-up while Shreya Rao Kamavarapu from Andhra Pradesh secured the second runner-up position.
