1.      ANNA HAZARE TO PROTEST AGAINST LAND ACQUISITION BILL:-
Ø  Anna Hazare along with other leaders such as Medha Patkar, launched his protest at Jantar Mantar against the ordinance on Land Acquisition Bill.
Ø  The vital Land Acquisition Bill is claimed by many as ‘ Anti-Farmers” as the new government has changed it a lot.
Note :- About Land Acquisition in India:-
Land Acquisition in India is currently governed by, “The Rights of Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and resettlement Act, 2013 “, which came into effect from  Ist  January 2014. Prior to this, Land Acquisition in India was governed by Land Acquisition Act of 1894.

2.      IBA PERSUADED BANKS TO CALL OFF THEIR STRIKE:-
Ø  Indian Banks Association have managed to convince Banks to call off their strike.
Ø  IBA has agreed to 15 % wage hike effective from November, 2012.
Ø  IBA has also agreed for two Saturdays off from work every month.
Ø  Two Saturdays off will be 2nd and 4th Saturday of month.

Swine Flu is an infection found in Pigs and commonly known as H1N1. This infection is caused by a virus SIV OR S-OIV.
Ø  SIV-Swine influenza virus.
Ø  S-OIV-Swine Origin Influenza Virus.
Ø  Transmission of this virus from Pigs to Humans is not common and if it does, it is called zoonotic Swine flu.
Ø  The virus first appeared in Mexico in 2009 & rapidly spread all over the world.
Ø  In august 2010,WHO officially declared swine Flu as Paendamic.
Ø  Swine Influenza is caused by influenza ‘A’.
Ø  Four Influenza ‘A’ virus subtypes is Pigs are:-
A.      H1N1
B.      H1N2
C.      H3N2
D.     H7N9
SWINE FLU IN INDIA:
Ø  Currently India is struggling hard against the Deadly swine Flu outbreak. This year’s outbreak of the deadly virus.H1N1 which causes Swine Flu is the deadliest in India since 2010.
Ø  More than 11000 have been infected with this disease and above 700 deaths have been accounted in India till now from 9 different states.
Ø  States like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Maharashtra and Telangana have witnessed a rapid increase in H1N1 cases.
