1. ONE BELT, ONE ROAD INITAITIVE BY CHINA’S NDRC:
i. China’s NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission) has released a new action plan One Belt, One Road Initiative.
ii. One Belt, One Road Initiative is taken to establish new routes linking Asia, Europe and Africa.
iii. One Belt, One Road Initiative has two parts:
(i)  Silk Raod Economic Belt (SREB): Linking China to Europe
(ii)  Maritime Silk Road (MSR): Linking China’s port facilities with the African Coast.

2.        1000 RUPEES PENSION SCHEME UNDER EPS TO CONTINUE:
i. Union Government of India has approved the continuation of 1000 Rs monthly pension scheme under Employees pension scheme (EPS).
ii. This move will benefit over 20 lakh pensioners under social security scheme run by EPFO.
iii. This move will cost additionally 850 crore Rs. to the exchequer of the Government.

3. WHITLEY AWARDS FOR WILDLIFE CONSERVATION:
i. Two Indians Dr. Ananda Kumar and Dr. Pramod Patil have won the prestigious whitely awards for their contribution to wildlife conservation.
ii. The awards were presented in a ceremony held in London.
iii. A total of 7 Conservationists were awarded the Whitley Awards for their efforts to protect wildlife in Developing countries.
Note: Whitley Awards are also known as Green Oscar.

4. WTO GETS A NEW MEMBER:
i. World Trade Organization has added Seychelles as its 161st member.
ii. With just 90,000 in habitants, Seychelles has become the smallest member of WTO.
iii. Seychelles has applied for WTO membership on 31st May 1995 but had to wait for 20 years as the country was negotiating its accession terms.

i.  Anil Kapoor is honoured with Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar Award, 2015.

1. WORLD MALARIA DAY OBSERVED ON 25TH APRIL:
i. World Malaria Day was observed globally on 25th April, 2015.
ii. World Malaria Day 2015 was observed with the theme, “Invest in the future, defeat Malaria”.
iii. World Malaria Day was instituted by World Health Organization (WHO) and is among the eight official global public Health Campaigns marked by WHO.

4. INDIA DELIEVERS 3 HELICOPTERS TO AFGHANISTAN:
i. India has delivered 3 Cheetal Helicopters to Afghanistan.
ii. The news that India has delivered 3 unarmed helicopters to Afghanistan was confirmed by the Minister of State for Defense Rao Inderjit Singh.
iii. India will also provide training to Afghan  pilots to use these helicopters.

5.   EARTHQUAKE STRUCKED IN INDIA AND NEPAL:
i. An Earthquake of Magnitude 7.9 was strucked in Nepal and North India.
ii. The Epicenter of the Earthquake was in Nepal which experienced the major destruction claiming almost 2000 lives.
iii. The tremors of the Quake were felt in Bihar, Jharkhand, U.P. Rajasthan, M.P., West Bengal, Haryana, Assam and Punjab.
Note: (a)This earthquake was the worst in Himalayan Nation in over 80 years.
      (b) Bihar Government has announced Rs. 4 lakh compensation amount for any life lost due to this earthquake.
