i.  India has won UNESCO Prize ‘Award of Excellence’ 2015 for the conservation efforts of the Sree Vadakkunnatham Temple in Kerala.
ii.  Award of Excellence is given for conservation effort for take care of Heritage, Cultural and Sacred Sites.
iii.  Sree Vadakkunnatham Temple is an ancient Hindu Temple relating to Lord Shiva in Kerala.

i.  Mumbai grabbed Buchi Babu Memorial trophy in All India Invitation Cricket Tournament
ii.  Mumbai defeated Tamil Nadu cricket association

4. SBI AND ICICI BANK DECLARED AS ‘DOMESTIC SYSTEMATIC IMPORTANT BANKS’ BY RBI
i.  RBI has declared State Bank of India and ICICI Bank as Domestic Systematically Important Banks (D-SIBs)
     Domestic Systematically Important Banks (D-SIBs):Some banks assume systemic importance due to their size, cross-jurisdictional activities, complexity, lack of substitutability and interconnectedness. The failure of these banks can cause significant disruption to the essential services provided by the banking system. These banks are considered Systemically Important Banks (SIBs) as their continued functioning is critical for the uninterrupted availability of essential Sbanking services to the real economy.

5.  TEJINDER PAL SINGH NAMED AS ‘AUSTRALIAN OF THE DAY’
i.   Tejinder Pal Singh an Indian Origin driver named as Australian of the day by common wealth bank of Australia
ii.  He has been deeding Homeless in Darwin for the past 3 years on every last Sunday of month.

i.  Union Government has announced list of 305 cities to be covered in Housing for All scheme
ii.  ‘Housing for All’ scheme is launched for construction of houses for the urban poor.

2.  US EXTENDS ANTI DUMPING DUTY ON INDIAN MUSHROOMS FOR NEXT 5 YEARS
i.   United States extended Anti Dumping Duty on Preserved Mushrooms for 5 years, as India is exporting maximum Mushroom to USA, UAE etc.
ii.   It will have negative impact on Indian Mushroom Exporters

3.  ONE STOP CENTER FOR WOMEN IN DISTRESS ‘SAKHI’ INAUGURATED IN HARYANA

i.  Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched a Scheme ‘SAHAJ’ for online LPG Connections.

iii. She defeated Helab Kiprop of Kenya.

4. PRO KABADDI LEAGUE WON BY ‘U MUMBA’
i.   U Mumba won the Pro Kabaddi league 2015 after defeating Bengaluru Bulls.
ii.  8 teams participated in Pro Kabaddi league, last year the league was won by Jaipur Pink Panthars.

Pro Kabaddi league was started last year in 2014 to promote Kabaddi .This was the second edition of Pro Kabaddi league.

1. MOUNTAINEER JOT SINGH HONOURED WITH TENZING NORGAY NATIONAL ADVENTURE AWARD
i. President Pranab Mukherjee honoured Indo-Tibetan Border Police Officer and mountaineer Jot Singh with The Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award.
i) Tenzing Norgay National Adventure award is named after Indian Nepalese Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay
ii) It is given by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports

2.  KANNADA WRITER DR.M.M KALBURGI DIED
i.   Senior Kannada writer and former Vice Chancellor of Kannada University Dr. M.M. Kalburgi was shot dead by unidentified persons.
ii.   He was conferred with the Sahitya Academy Award.

3.  INDIAN BANK LAUNCHED INDPAY APPLICATION
i.  Indian Bank has launched IndPay mobile application service for customers to operate Bank accounts anytime from anywhere.

3.  TRIPURA TO IMPLEMENT NATIONAL FOOD SECURITY ACT
i.   Tripura has decided to implement National food security act from 1 September 2015
ii. Tripura has become first state from North-East region to implement National Food Security Act.
i) National Food Security Act was implemented in 2013.
ii) It provides 5 kg subsidized food grains to per person per month at Rs 1 to Rs 3 per kg to 2/3rd of population

4. UNION GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCED LIST OF 98 ‘SMART CITIES’
i.  Union Government has announced list of 98 Smart Cities for modern infrastructure and to give a quality life to the citizens with clean and green environment.
ii. The Smart cities Mission was announced by PM Narendra Modi to achieve inclusive Growth.

1.  AIR INDIA GRABBED ‘GURU TEG BAHADUR HOCKEY TITLE’
i.  Air India’s Hockey team has grabbed Guru Teg Bahadur Hockey Title after 7 years in Mumbai.
ii.  Earlier in 2008 , Air India won Guru Teg Bhadur Hockey Title.

2.  ‘AB DE VILLIERS’ BROKE SAURAV GANGULY’S RECORD IN ODI RUNS
i.   AB De Villiers South African Skipper has broke the Previous record held by Sourav   Ganguly.
ii.  Ganguly achieved 8000 runs in 200 innings but AB de villiers became 1st to reach 8000 runs in 150 innings in one day internationals.
 
3.  RAJENDRA GOT ‘STOCKHOLM WATER PRIZE’
i.   Rajendra Singh known as water man of India got Stockholm water prize.
ii.  He got this award for his innovative water restoration efforts and improving water security in rural areas of India.

4. GSAT-6 LAUNCHED BY ISRO
i.  Indian space research organization has successfully put GSAT-6 into orbit.
ii.  It was launched by indigenously built Geo Synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle(GSLV)-6 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre located at Sri Hari Kotta.
iii.  It will provide multimedia communication and broadcasting services in India.
