1. BIHAR GOVERNMENT BANNED 15-YEAR-OLD DIESEL VEHICLES IN PATNA
i. Bihar government banned 15-year-old diesel vehicles in the Capital city Patna.
ii. The decision is taken in to decrease pollution.
iii. The Bihar State Pollution Control Board has stated that the air quality index of Patna has broken all its past record.

2. GAUTAM H BAMBAWALE APPOINTED AS INDIA'S HIGH COMMISSIONER TO PAKISTAN
i. Gautam H Bambawale was appointed as the High Commissioner of India to Pakistan.
ii. He is presently serving on  the post of  Indian ambassador to Bhutan.
iii. Gautam H Bambawale will replace TCA Raghavan who will retire on 31st december2015.

3. UNION GOVERNMENT LAUNCHED TWO MOBILE APPS FOR FARMERS
i. Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh launched two mobile apps namely Crop Insurance and AgriMarket Mobile.
ii. The apps were launched to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Choudhary Charan Singh.
iii. The Mobile app Crop Insurance will help the farmers to find out complete details about insurance cover available in their area and to calculate the insurance premium for notified crops.
iv. Mobile app AgriMarket Mobile can be used by the farmers to get the market prices of crops in the mandi within 50 km radius of the device and other mandis in the country.

4. PAWAN KUMAR AGARWAL APPOINTED AS CEO OF FSSAI
i. Pawan Kumar Agarwal appointed as Chief Executive Officer of food regulator Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
ii. He will replace Yudhvir Singh Malik, who was shifted as Additional Secretary in Niti ayog.
iii. Yudhvir singh Malik is believed to be the man behind the ban on popular noodle brand Maggi, which has now been removed.

5. PANDORUM TECHNOLOGIES DEVELOPED INDIA’S FIRST ARTIFICIAL LIVER TISSUE USING 3D PRINTING
i. Pandorum Technologies Private Limited developed India’s first artificial liver tissue with the help of 3-D printing technology.
ii. The development is a major step forward in the on-demand manufacturing of 3D printed human organs.
iii. The artificial liver tissue performs critical functions of a human liver including, metabolism, secretion of biochemical’s such as cholesterol and albumin and detoxification.

6. DR. RAKESH K. JAIN SELECTED FOR 2015 NATIONAL MEDAL OF SCIENCE
i. Indian American professor Dr. Rakesh K. Jain has been selected for 2015 National Medal of Science of the United States.
ii. He will be presented this top award for his achievement and leadership in advancing the fields of science and technology
iii. National Medal of Science is an annual award established in 1959 by U.S Government.

7. RBI EXTENDS DEADLINE TO EXCHANGE PRE-2005 NOTES TO JUNE 30, 2016
i. Reserve Bank of India has extended the deadline for exchanging pre-2005 currency notes of different denominations by another six months to June 30, 2016.
ii. Facility for exchanging pre-2005 currency notes will only be available at identified bank branches and Issue Offices of the RBI.
iii. Earlier RBI had set the last date for public to exchange pre-2005 banknotes notes as December 31, 2015

8. 24TH DECEMBER IS OBSERVED AS NATIONAL CONSUMER DAY
i. National Consumer Day is observed on 24th December.
ii. The day is observed on 24th because on this day the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 had received the assent of the President

iii. The Act aims to provide consumers with effective safeguards against different types of exploitation such as defective goods, unsatisfactory services and unfair trade practices.

1. PHILIPPINES BECAME 1ST ASIAN COUNTRY TO APPROVE WORLD'S FIRST-EVER DENGUE VACCINE
i. The Philippines became the 1st Asian country to approve the sale of the world's first dengue vaccine, Dengvaxia.
ii. Earlier the Dengvaxia vaccine is approved in Mexico for use first time in world.
iii. Dengvaxia  is used for the prevention of disease caused by dengue virus serotypes in preadolescents, adolescents and adults between 9 to 45 years of age living in endemic areas.

2. BIHAR CHIEF MINISTER NITISH KUMAR APPROVED PATNA METRO RAIL PROJECT
i. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar approved Patna Metro Rail project's proposal.
ii. The first corridor will run from east to west from Mithapur bus stand to Saguna Mor and Patna Junction.
iii. The second north-south corridor will run from Patna Junction to the proposed bus stand at Bairiya.

3. RBI CREATED DEDICATED HELPLINE FOR GUIDING START-UPS IN INDIA ON FOREX MATTERS
i. The Reserve Bank of India created a dedicated helpline for start-ups in India to offer assistance on Forex matters.
ii. It is started to undertake the cross-border transactions under the ambit of the regulatory framework.
iii. Cross border transactions of  Indian resident are subject to the regulatory  provisions under the FEMA act, 1999.

4. UNION HRD MINISTRY LAUNCHED THE 6TH ALL INDIA SURVEY ON HIGHER EDUCATION
i. The Union Minister of Human Resource Development launched the 6th All India Survey on Higher Education in New Delhi.
ii. The survey covers all Higher Education institutions of the country including Universities and Colleges.
iii. It will provide complete information about the higher education system so that relevant statistics are available to the Central Government as well as State Governments in order to devise future educational policies.

5. CCEA APPROVED 3000-CRORE RUPEES SCHEME FOR INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF FISHERIES
i. Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs gave its approval for implementation of an umbrella scheme for integrated development and management of fisheries.
ii. The scheme will be implemented with an outlay of Three thousand crore rupees.
iii. It will manage and develop inland fisheries, marine fisherie, aquaculture and all activities undertaken by the National Fisheries Development Board towards realizing Blue Revolution.

6. RAJYA SABHA PASSED JUVENILE JUSTICE (CARE AND PROTECTION OF CHILDREN) BILL, 2015
i. Rajya Sabha passed the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill, 2015.
ii. The Bill permits juveniles between the ages of 16-18 years to be treated as adults for heinous offences.
iii. The Bill  will replaces the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act,2000.

7. UNION CABINET APPROVED LUCKNOW METRO RAIL PROJECT PHASE-1A
i. Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi  approved the Lucknow Metro Rail Project Phase-1 A.
ii. The project will cost government with an expenditure of 6928 crore rupees.
iii. The project will cost 6928 crore rupees out of which the Union Government will give 1300 crore rupees in form of equity and subordinate debt.

1. COW NAMED YAHOO'S PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR
i. Search engine Yahoo named Cow as the Personality of the Year 2015.
ii.The animal managed to top the list among other high-profile contenders for the spot in Yahoo's list of 2015 Year in Review for India.
iii. The announcement of beef ban in Maharashtra led to massive debates and arguments which led it to became the icon of discussions on intolerance.
iv.Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained the Most Searched Politician in 2015.
v.Sunny Leone remained the top position as the Most Searched Female Celebrity for the fourth year.

2. NEW ZEALAND CRICKET CAPTAIN BRENDON MCCULLUM ANNOUNCED RETIREMENT
i.New Zealand cricket captain Brendon McCullum announced retirement from all forms of international cricket.
ii.At present he is the wicket-keeper and  New Zealand’s captain in all three forms of the cricket that is tests, ODIs and twenty20.
iii.He is the first and only player to have scored two Twenty20 International centuries and 2000 runs in T20 Internationals.

3. ANDY MURRAY WON 2015 BBC SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR AWARD
i.Andy Murray of the UK received the 2015 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award in London.
ii.Murray was chosen for the award after a public vote in which he received maximum votes.
iii.In November he led Great Britain's tennis team to a first Davis Cup victory after a gap of 79 years.
iv. BBC Sports Personality of the Year award is the annual sports award presented by the British Broadcasting Corporation.

4. NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY OBSERVED ON 22 DECEMBER
i.India celebrated National Mathematics Day on 22 december  to commemorate the birth anniversary of great Indian Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
ii.India and UNESCO agreed to work jointly in spreading the joy of mathematics and knowledge to students and learners across the world.
iii.National Mathematics Day was started as National Mathematics Day by former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh  in 2012  on the 125th birth anniversary of Ramanujan.

5. ODISHA GOVERNMENT LAUNCHED ANWESHA SCHEME TO PROVIDE FREE EDUCATION TO SC/ST STUDENTS
i. The Odisha Government launched Anwesha scheme to provide free education to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe students.
ii.Under this scheme five Thousand SC and ST children will annually be enrolled into Standard I in leading private schools of the state.
iii.Under this scheme  government will bear all expenses for education of the students .
iv.The expenses for fees, uniform, books, hostel accommodation as well transportation will be sponsored by the government.

6. COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED BECAME FIRST LICENSED INDIAN SHIPYARD TO MAKE LNG SHIPS
i.Cochin Shipyard Limited received certification to build LNG-transporting ships for any client world-wide making it the 1st  shipyard in India to get the approval.
ii.Cochin Shipyard has inked an agreement with French technology company Gaz transport & Technigaz  for its first foray into liquefied natural gas shipbuilding.
iii.This is a new venture in ship-building technology with India and marks a big step for Make in India.

iv.GTT is a leader in design engineering and provides membrane-type containment systems for the transportation and storage of LNG.
