1. UNION GOVERNMENT IMPOSED ‘ANTI-DUMPING DUTY ON CHINESE AUTO PARTS’
i. The Union Finance Ministry has imposed anti-dumping duties on imported Chinese auto parts for a period of five years.
ii. The Anti-dumping duty is used by a country under the multilateral World Trade Organisation to protect its domestic producers and market from below-cost/cheap imports.
iii. Anti dumping duty can be imposed for a maximum period of 5 years.

2. ‘FIRST WORLD INDIGENOUS GAMES’ STARTED IN PALMAS
i. First World Indigenous Games has been started in the northern Brazilian city of Palmas.
ii.The opening ceremony of the multi-sport event was attended by Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.
iii.It is first of its kind of international multi-sport event that will involve around 2000 indigenous athletes belonging to different indigenous ethnic groups from 30 countries.
iv. These Games will include sports events like archery, canoeing, spear tossing and a race through the forest.

3. INDIAN MOUNTAINEERS NAMED AN UNTOUCHED ‘MOUNTAIN PEAK AS APJ ABDUL KALAM’
i. Mountaineers Arjun Vajpai and Bhupesh Kumar created history by becoming first people to climb unnamed peak in Himachal’s Spiti Valley.
ii. They named the peak as Mout Kalam, in honour of former President of India, Dr. Abdul Kalam.

4. ‘ASHWINI KUMAR’ HONORARY MEMBER OF IOC PASSED AWAY
i. Ashwini Kumar  honorary member of International Olympic Committee passed away.
ii. He was 94 years old.

1. PM LAID FOUNDATION STONE OF ‘SHRI VENKATESWARA MOBILE & ELECTRONICS MANUFACTURING HUB’
i. Prime Minister Narendra Modi  laid the foundation stone of Shri Venkateswara Mobile and Electronics Manufacturing Hub in Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh.
ii. Shri Venkateswara Mobile & Electronics Manufacturing Hub will create more than 10000 jobs within a year.
iii. Andhra Pradesh is going to be a preferred destination for mobile handset and component manufacturing companies.
iv. It is country’s first dedicated mobile manufacturing electronics cluster to be established under Union Government’s flagship Make in India initiative.

2. BANKS ALLOWED TO FIX ‘INTEREST RATES ON GOLD DEPOSIT SCHEME’ BY RBI
i. Reserve Bank of India has allowed banks to fix their own interest rates on gold deposits under the Gold Monetisation Scheme.
ii. RBI has said Banks are free to set interest rate such as principal and interest on the deposit denominated in gold.

3. UNION GOVERNMENT APPROVED ‘AMRUT PROJECTS’
i. The Union Ministry of Urban Development gave its approval to the first batch of state level Action Plans under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation.
ii. The Action Plans for 89 cities have been approved under AMRUT project in cities of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan.

1. ‘K CHOCKALINGAM’ WINS 2015 PAUL H APPLEBY AWARD
i. K Chockalingam Noted criminologist  has been honoured with Paul H Appleby Award.
ii. The award was given to him by Indian Institute of Public Administration for his distinguished services to public administration and to the institute.
iii. The Award has been started in honour of a noted author Paul H Appleby in recognition of his works in the field of public administration.

2. UNITED NATIONS RELEASED A REPORT TITLED ‘THE WORLD’S WOMEN 2015’
i. United Nations released a report named The World’s Women 2015.
ii. United nations said Mortality rate among Indian girls below the age of five higher than the boys.
iii. India is among the countries having largest surplus population of men and worrying under-five sex ratio.
iv. Number of girls in India dying before the age of five is relatively higher compared to the boys.
v. Child marriage is the most common practice in south Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. India accounts for one-third of the total global child brides.

3. ‘SEONG-JIN CHO’ WON 17TH INTERNATIONAL FREDERIC CHOPIN PIANO COMPETITION
i. Seong-Jin Cho of South Korea won the 17th international Frederic Chopin Piano competition in Warsaw, Poland.
ii. The second prize was won by Charles Richard-Hamelin of Canada
iii. The Frederic Chopin Piano competition held after every five years and is one of the few in which pianists play pieces by a single composer.

4. ‘RELIANCE CAPITAL’ INKED AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE ‘GOLDMAN SACHS MUTUAL FUNDS BUSINESS’
i. Reliance Capital Asset Management signed agreements to acquire Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s onshore business in India.
ii. RCAM will acquire it after paying some of 243 crore rupees to acqire all onshore mutual fund schemes of GSAM India.

5. ‘GLOBAL MATERNAL NEWBORN HEALTH CONFERENCE’ 2015 HELD IN MEXICO CITY
i. The Global Maternal Newborn Health Conference 2015 was held from 18 October to 21 October 2015 in the Mexico City.
ii. It was a technical meeting focused on accelerating progress towards effective and sustainable coverage of maternal and newborn interventions at scale.

iii. It provided a forum to identify, understand and respond to the most urgent health needs of mothers and newborns.
