1. JAN DHAN ACCOUNTS DEPOSITS CROSSED RS. 30,000 CRORE
i. Deposits in accounts opened under the financial inclusion programme Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana have crossed the Rs. 30,000 crore mark.
ii. Under this programme 20.38 crore bank accounts were openedand these bank accounts had deposits of Rs. 30,638.29 crore.

2. FIRST MINISTERIAL MEETING OF ARAB AND INDIAN COOPERATION FORUM HELD MANAMA
i. The first Ministerial Meeting of Arab and Indian Cooperation Forum was held Manama, Bahrain.
ii. The meeting was chaired by Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and from india it was attended by Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
iii. The meeting was held to strengthen the economic, trade and financial cooperation.

3. PV SINDHU GRABBED 2016 MALAYSIA MASTERS GRAND PRIX GOLD BADMINTON TITLE
i.  Indian Shuttler Pusarla Venkata Sindhu has won the 2016 Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold Badminton title.
ii. She has defeated Scotland’s Kirsty Gilmour by 21-15, 21-9 score.

4. AP GOVERNMENT LAUNCHED GIRIPUTRIKA KALYANA PATHAKAM SCHEME FOR TRIBAL PEOPLE
i. Andhra Pradesh Government launched Giriputrika Kalyana Pathakam Scheme to support the tribal women in their quest for livelihood.
ii. The scheme will reduce infant mortality and child marriages among tribal people.
iii. It will provide a onetime financial assistance of 50000 rupees to each tribal woman who gets married.

5. INDIA’S LARGEST FLAG WITH TALLEST FLAGPOLE HOISTED AT RANCHI
i. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar hoisted the largest flag of the country in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
ii. The flag is 66 feet in height and 99 feet in width and hoisted on a 293 feet-tall pole.
iii. The flag was unveiled to mark the National Defence Day.

6. INDIA WON BLIND T20 ASIA CUP AFTER DEFEATING PAKISTAN
i. India won the first T20 Asia cup cricket for Blind played at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium of Kochi.
ii. In the final match India defeated Pakistan by 44 runs.

1. IZUMO TAKUTO AND ZHU CHENGZHU WON ITTF WORLD JUNIOR CIRCUIT FINALS
i. Japanese player Izumo Takuto and Hong Kong's Zhu Chengzhu won championship in the boys' and girls' categories at 2015 ITTF World Junior Circuit Finals in Madhya Pradesh.
ii. The International Table Tennis Federation is the governing body for all international table tennis associations.
iii. The ITTF is responsible for the management of international competitions including the World Junior Circuit and the World Table Tennis Championships.

2. AUSTRALIA WON FIVE-MATCH ODI SERIES AGAINST INDIA
i. Australia won the five match One Day International series against India by 4-1.
ii. In the final match India defeated Australia by 6 wickets.
iii. This is the first time that any team has chased more than 300 runs to complete victory against Australia in their own country.
iv. Man of the Series award is given to Rohit Sharma from India.

3. JAPAN LIFTED NUCLEAR SANCTIONS ON IRAN
i. Japan lifted sanctions on Iran after the United Nations atomic energy agency confirmed that Tehran has taken steps to curb its disputed nuclear programme.
ii. Now the move will allow Japanese companies to continue investment in Iran's oil and gas industry.

4. TRANSERV LAUNCHES INDIA'S FIRST SOCIAL MOBILE WALLET UDIO
i. India’s digital payment startup company TranServ has launched country’s first Social Mobile Wallet named Udio.
ii. The digital wallet will help to address the gap between real and virtual modes of payment as it has more social experience.
iii. It integrates a social, community-driven aspect with anytime, anywhere accessibility to digital P2P transactions.
iv. It is easy to use approach for making cashless payments similar to mobile banking.

5. EMINENT TABLA PLAYER SHANKAR GHOSH PASSED AWAY
i. Tabla player Pandit Shankar Ghosh died in Kolkata due to long illness.
ii. Pandit Shankar Ghosh is known for his jugalbandi with classical musician sitarists Pandit Ravi Shankar and Ustad Vilayat Khan.

6. BEST COUNTRIES REPORT RELEASED AT WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM
i. Best Countries report released at World Economic Forum about the ranking of 60 nations.
ii. Germany has topped in the list as best country in the world followed by Canada and the United Kingdom.
iii. India is ranked as the 22nd best country in the World.
iv. Sweden is recognized as the most modern country and the Best Country to Raise Kids and the No. 1 nation for Green Living.
v. Denmark is named the Best Country for Women and United States is named the most powerful country.

7. 2016 NTI NUCLEAR SECURITY INDEX RELEASED
i. Nuclear Threat Initiative a think-tank of U.S released the 2016 Nuclear Security Index.
ii. The theme of the index is Building a Framework for Assurance, Accountability, and Action.
iii. The Index has assessed global nuclear security conditions in 176 countries in two areas relating to the potential theft of weapons usable nuclear materials and the potential sabotage of nuclear facilities.

iv. Australia was ranked at top as the safest country and India was ranked 21st.

1. MINISTRY OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP SIGNED MOU TO DEVELOP NATIONAL ACTION PLAN FOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT IN TELECOM SECTOR
i. The Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop and implement National Action Plan for Skill Development in Telecom Sector.
ii. They have agreed to make concerted joint efforts towards skill development by mobilization of financial support under the National Ecosystem for Development of Telecom Skills.

2. RAHUL THAKKAR WON AN OSCAR AWARD FOR TECHNICAL ACHIEVEMENT
i.  Rahul Thakkar was named as winner of the Scientific and Technical Award given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences known as Oscar Awards.
ii. The award is shared with Richard Chuang in the category of groundbreaking design of the DreamWorks Animation Media Review System.
iii. This system enabled to review desktop and digital theater and it took about twenty years for the development.

3. INDIA TO BE FASTEST GROWING ECONOMY IN 2016 REPORT BY UN
i. According to the report released by United Nations named World Economic Situation and Prospects 2016 Report India will be the fastest growing big economy in the world in 2016.
ii. They have projected India’s growth rate by 7.3 % in the year 2016 and 7.5 % in 2017.
iii. The highest growth rate in India has been attributed to improvement in the macroeconomic environment with the help of sharp decline in the prices of oil, food and metals.

4. SRI LANKA TOPS IN 2015 HDI IN SOUTH ASIA REGION
i. Sri Lanka has topped in 2015 human development index  in the South Asia Region.
ii. The list is released by UN Development Programme  the top three nations in the 2015 HDI are Norway ranked first then followed by  Australia ,Switzerland.
iii. India ranked on 130th place.
iv. The index is released after assessing three areas of human development including Long and healthy life, Access to knowledge,Decent standard of living.

5. NAI MANZIL SCHEME LAUNCHED IN JAMMU AND KASHMIR
i. The Nai Manzil scheme is launched for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir.
ii. The scheme was launched for girls in Srinagar from minority communities.
iii. They will  be imparted three month skill development training in seven identified sectors relevant to the region such as  food processing, embroidery, computers IT, Tourism/hospitality, electronics and plumbing etc.   
iv. Nai Manzil Scheme is an integrated Education and Livelihood Initiative for the Minority Communities.

6. AMITABH BACHCHAN AND PRIYANKA CHOPRA REPLACE AAMIR KHAN AS 'INCREDIBLE INDIA' BRAND AMBASSADORS
i. Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra  will replace Aamir Khan as 'Incredible india ‘ brand ambassadors.
ii. The selection are made after Amir khan,who had angered the BJP-led government with his remarks on perceived intolerance in the country.
iii. He had promoted Indian tourism for a decade as the brand ambassador.
ii. He is replaced as Amir khan had termed India an 'intolerant country' which worked against his role as brand ambassador india.

7. PM NARENDRA MODI RELEASED BOOK NAMED THE Z FACTOR
i. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a book titled The Z Factor: My Journey as the Wrong Man at the Right Time in New Delhi.
ii. The book is the autobiography of the promoter of Essel/ Zee Group Subhash Chandra.

iii. It is written by Subhash Chandra explaing a ‘truly desi’ self-made businessman who came to Delhi at age twenty with seventeen rupees in his pocket.

i.   Atulesh Jindal has been appointed chairman of Central Board of Direct Taxes.
ii.  Atulesh Jindal has replaced Arun Kumar Jain.
iii. Central Board of Direct Taxes is  body of Income Tax department in India.
iv. It is the supreme body for framing policies related to direct taxes.

2. 4TH INDIA AFRICA HYDROCARBONS CONFERENCE BEGINS IN NEW DELHI
i.   The 4th India Africa Hydrocarbons Conference has started in New Delhi.
ii.  The conference aims at promoting cooperation between India and African continent in the field of Hydrocarbons.
iii. Africa has huge hydrocarbon resources but it lacks in capital, technology and ability, experience and manpower to exploit these resources for future growth.
iv. India will provide help by  provide investment capital for development needs of African countries.

ii   The conference aims at discussing various aspects of e-Governance including Technology Enabled Services to Cyber Security framework .

5. OCEANS TO HAVE MORE PLASTICS THAN FISH BY 2050: WEF REPORT
i.   According to the report released by World Economic Forum oceans will have more plastics than fish by 2050.
ii.  It stated in the report that if the ongoing practice of dumping plastics continues in oceans than they have more plastics than fish.
ii.  According to the Report every year at least 8 million tonnes of plastics leak into the ocean equal  to dumping the one garbage truck into the ocean every minute.

6. UTTAR PRADESH WON 2014-2015 SYED MUSHTAQ ALI TROPHY
i.   Uttar Pradesh won its maiden Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
ii. Uttar Pradesh has won it ninth tym.
iii.       The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is a Twenty20 cricket domestic championship, named after a famous Indian cricketer, Syed Mushtaq Ali.

iv. Gujarat was the winner of 2014-15 season of the tournament.

1. UNION CABINET APPROVED MOU BETWEEN INDIA & UK ON COOPERATION IN GOVERNANCE REFORMS
i. The Union Cabinet gave its approval for the Memorandum of Understanding between India and United Kingdom on cooperation in governance reforms.
ii. It will promote bilateral cooperation in public administration and governance reforms between both the countries.
iii. Under this MoU countries will share good governance practices in public administration, reducing bureaucracy in service delivery and government process re-engineering.

2. CCEA APPROVED SETTING UP OF OVER 5000 MW OF GRID-CONNECTED SOLAR PV POWER PROJECTS
i. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs gave its approval for setting up over 5000 MW of Solar PV Power Projects.
ii. The total investments expected under the scheme is about 30000 crore rupees.
iii. It will help in employment generation for people in rural and urban areas with reduction of CO2 emissions into environment every year.

3. CCEA APPROVED SIX LANING OF NH-2 IN BIHAR AND JHARKHAND
i. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved development of the six laning on National Highway-2 in Bihar and Jharkhand.
ii. It will be developed by the National Highways Development Project Phase-V.
iii. The main aim of the project is to improve infrastructure and to reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic in Bihar and Jharkhand.

4. BIHAR CABINET APPROVED 35 PERCENT RESERVATION FOR WOMEN IN GOVERNMENT JOBS
i. The Bihar Cabinet approved 35 percent reservation for women in all government jobs in the state.
ii. The 35 percent reservation for women will be applicable to in all government jobs including reserved and unreserved category.

5. SEX RATIO DECLINED AND LITERACY RATE OF WOMEN UP A REPORT BY FAMILY HEALTH SURVEY
i. According to the latest national family health survey known as NFHS-4 the sex ratio in many states in India has significantly decreased.
ii. In the recent years the sex ratio has significantly decreased and women’s literacy has increased.
iii. According to the survey there are 985 females per 1,000 males in 2015-16 compared to 1,000 females per 1,000 males in 2005-06.

1. 33000 CRORE RUPEES SACTIONED BY UNION GOVERNMENT FOR INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS IN TAMILNADU
i. Union Government sanctioned 33000 crore rupees for the development of infrastructure projects in Tamilnadu.
ii. The infrastructure projects include construction of Rail-Over-Bridges, upgradation of state highways into National Highways and major bridges in the state.

2. PSLV-C31 SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHED IRNSS-1E SATELLITE
i. The Indian Space Research Organisation successfully launched the Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System 1-E satellite.
ii. The satellite will provide navigation, tracking and mapping services to the Indian sub continent.
iii. It is an independent regional navigation satellite system designed to provide position information in the Indian region and 1500 km around the Indian mainland.

3. INDIAN DRIVER JEHAN DARUVALA WON LADY WIGRAM TROPHY MOTOR RACE
i. Sahara Force India Academy racer Jehan Daruvala grabbed New Zealand's most prestigious event known as “The Lady Wigram Trophy”
ii. It was his maiden victory in Formula car racing.

4. INSEAD LAUNCHED GLOBAL TALENT COMPETITIVENESS INDEX 2015-2016
i. INSEAD one of the world's leading and largest graduate business schools launched the Global Talent Competitiveness Index 2015-16.
ii. It was released in Switzerland during the 46th annual summit of the World Economic Forum.
iii. The theme of the Index was Talent Attraction and International Mobility.
iv. The index was topped by Switzerland followed by Singapore, Luxembourg, USA and Denmark.
v. India slipped to rank 89 from 78th this year.

5. SBI OFFERS LOANS FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS UNDER MUDRA SCHEME
i. A special loan scheme under Prime Minister MUDRA Yojana has been launched for providing fund to need of women entrepreneurs.
ii. State Bank of India will provide loans to help women entrepreneurs in West Bengal who are engaged in various handicraft activities.
iii. MUDRA scheme means Micro Units Development and Refinance Agencis a new institution being set up by Government of India for development and refinancing activities of micro units.
iv. The purpose of MUDRA is to provide funding to the non corporate small business sector.

6. WORLD’S OLDEST MAN DIES AT 112 IN JAPAN
i. The world’s oldest man Yasutaro Koide died at the age of 112 in Japan.
ii. He died of heart failure and pneumonia in Japan
iii. Earlier he said the key to longevity is “To avoid overwork and live with joy”
