1. PM NARENDRA MODI LAUNCHED RURBAN MISSION IN CHHATTISGARH
i. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Shyama Prasad Mukherjee National Rurban Mission. T
ii. The mission was launched from Kurubhat village in Dongargarh block of Rajnandgaon district in Chhattisgarh.
iii. The Rurban Mission aims to develop smart village on the line of smart cities and reduce the burden of migration to the cities through adopting ‘cluster approach’.

2.  MALAYALAM FILM OTTAL NAMED BEST CHILDREN'S FILM AT BERLIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
i. Malayalam film “Ottal” was named as the Best Children's Film at the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival in Germany.
ii. It was honoured with the Crystal Bear Award in the 'Generation K-Plus' section.
iii. The film is directed by Jayaraj Rajasekharan Nair and it narrates the story of an old fisherman and his grandson.

3. PUNJAB WARRIORS DEFEATED KALINGA LANCERS TO WIN 2016 HOCKEY INDIA LEAGUE
i. The Jaypee Punjab Warriors defeated Kalinga Lancers to clinch Hockey India League title in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
ii. The Emerging Player of the Match was awarded to Armaan Qureshi.
iii. The Dhruv Batra honoured for Maximum Goals award to Kalinga Lancers' Glenn Turner.
iv. Hockey India League is organized by Hockey India, the governing body for the sport in India.

4. TRIPLE JUMPER RENJITH MAHESWARY WON SILVER IN ASIAN INDOOR ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS
i. Triple jumper Renjith Maheswary won silver medal at the 7th Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.
ii. The Gold medal was by Kazakhstan’s Roman Valiyev with 16.69m and Rashid Ahmed Al Mannai won the bronze with 15.97m.

ii. She was the only candidate nominated for the post .
iii. She was the first woman to become finance minister of a G8 economy, and is the first woman to head the IMF.

iv. Romania’s Simona Halep was the winner of the women’s singles title in 2015.

1. UMA BHARTI TO INAUGURATE JAL MANTHAN 2016
i. Union Minister of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Uma Bharti has inaugurated Jal Manthan 2 on February 22 in New Delhi.
ii. The main theme of the event is Integrated Approach for Sustainable Water Management.
iii. The purpose of the event is to have discussions on River Basin Approach for Sustainable development, Ground water, Water security, innovation in water governance, Water management and Coordination.
iv. The first Jal Manthan was organized in November 2014.

2. KALIKHO PUL SWORNED IN AS ARUNACHAL PRADESH CM.
i. Congress leader Kalikho Pul has sworn in as the ninth Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh.
ii. Earlier President rule was imposed in the state.
iii. He has replaced former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki
Governor of Arunachal pardesh: J P Rajkhowa

3. RENOWNED NOVELIST HARPER LEE PASSES AWAY
i. Harper Lee known for her famous novel To Kill a Mockingbird has passed away in US.

4. WORLD BANK TO SUPPORT RAJASTHAN ON ENERGY REFORMS
i. The World Bank has decided to lend financial support to the Rajasthan government on energy reforms.
ii. The decision was taken at a meeting between World Banks director in India, Onno Ruhl and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
iii. The fund is given for the ongoing projects on rural development, including the Jal Swablamban Abhiyan, and o new technologies in Agriculture, Skill Development and Tourism in Rajasthan.
