1. ICICI BANK LAUNCHED A CREDIT-LINKED SUBSIDY SCHEME FOR HOME LOANS UNDER PRADHAN MANTRI AWAS YOJANA
i. ICICI Bank has signed a MoU with National Housing Bank to facilitate the credit-linked subsidy to eligible borrowers.
ii. Under the scheme customer will get a subsidy at 6.5 per cent per annum on a maximum amount of Rs 6 lakh or the loan amount whichever is lower for a maximum tenure of 15 years.
iii. Individual borrowers from the economically weaker section and the low-income will be able to acquire and construct the house for the family by paying significantly lower equated monthly installments.
iv. ICICI Bank is  supporting Government’s vision to provide housing for all by 2022.

2. TAPAN CHAND ELECTED AS AAI CHIEF
i. Aluminium Association of India elected  Tapan Kumar Chand as the President of the metal governing body.
ii. Aluminium Association of India, was founded in 1981
iii. It was founded to fulfill the needs of Indian Aluminium Industry and to interface with various aluminium industries world over

3. KANGANA RANAUT HAS BEEN APPOINTED AS THE BRAND AMBASSADOR OF REEBOK INDIA
i. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been appointed as the brand ambassador of Reebok India.
ii. She also launched the new campaign of the brand titled “Be More Human”.
iii. It aims to inspire women to become better versions of themselves physically , mentally and socially.

4. UNION CABINET GAVE GREEN SIGNAL FOR AMENDMENT TO SIKH GURDWARAS ACT, 1925
i. The Union Cabinet approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs to amend the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925.
ii. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave green signal to remove the exception given to Sehajdhari Sikhs in 1944 to vote in the elections for selecting members of the board and the committees constituted under the Act.
iii. The Sehajdhari Sikhs were continuously exercising their voting rights in the SGPC elections since 1949.
iv. In 2003 the Sehajdhari Sikhs were debarred from voting by amending the Sikh Gurdwara Act, 1925.

5.  NUCLEAR PLANT IN GUJRAT LEAKED
i. A power generation unit at Kakrapar Atomic Power Station in Surat was closed after leakage of heavy water.
ii. No nuclear radiation has occurred due to the leakage.
iii. The radioactivity and radiation levels in the plant premises and outside are normal.

6. CRISIL PROJECTS GDP GROWTH AT 7.9% IN 2016-17
i. Crisil projected country’s GDP growth rate at 7.9 per cent in next fiscal year.
ii. Crisil said the growth will be positive if the monsoon is normal and the government implements the reform measures announced by it recently.
iii. CRISIL known as Credit Rating Information Services of India Limited is a global analytical company providing ratings, research, and risk and policy advisory services established in 1987.

1. IMF AND INDIA TO SET UP SOUTH ASIA REGIONAL TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CENTER IN DELHI
i. India and International Monetary Fund have decided to set up South Asia Regional Training and Technical Assistance Centre in New Delhi.
ii. SARTTC will set up for promoting the capacity development and training officials in dealing with macro-economic and financial issues in the South Asia region.
iii. It will help to fulfill the existing training needs and demand for IMF training in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

2. UNION POWER MINISTRY NAMED LED BASED DOMESTIC EFFICIENT LIGHTING PROGRAMME AS UJALA
i. Union Power Ministry has announced name UJALA for the LED based Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme.
ii. UJALA mean’s Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All.
iii. The National LED based DELP programme was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 2015 for energy conservation by reducing energy consumption.
iv. The programme is started to replace 77 crore incandescent lamps with LED bulbs.

3. LT GEN N P S HIRA APPOINTED DEPUTY CHIEF OF ARMY
i. Lieutenant General  N P S Hira has been appointed as Deputy Chief of Army Staff.
ii. He has lot of experience in counter insurgency operations in J&K and in the northeast region, as well as conventional operations in Western command.
vi. He has earned an Ashok Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Shaurya Chakra and many more gallantry awards.

4. KERALA TOURISM CAMPAIGN WON GOLDEN CITY GATE AWARD
i. Kerala Tourism's campaign on responsible tourism grabbed the prestigious Golden City Gate Award at the  Internationale Tourismus-Borse Berlin 2016.
ii. The multimedia campaign titled New Worlds won the silver prize of 2016 Das Golden Stadttor or Golden City Gate, also known as the Oscar of tourism communication, at the ITB-Berlin 2016.
iii. New Worlds campaign was launched internationally by UNWTO Secretary General Taleb Rifai at the World Travel Mart in London.

5. 4TH WORLD CONGRESS OF BIOSPHERE RESERVES INAUGURATED AT LIMA
i. 4th World Congress of Biosphere Reserves is started at Lima in Peru.
ii. It will be held from 14 March to 17 March 2016 to discuss issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals.
iii. It will promote education for sustainable development, the economic viability of nature conservation systems, human migrations and protection of natural resources, among others.
iv. The main aim is to develop and launch an Action Plan for Biosphere Reserves for 2016-2025.

6. SANTOSH TROPHY WON BY SERVICES
i. Services grabbed the Santosh Trophy National Football Championships title in maharastra.
ii. Services defeated Maharashtra by 2-1.
iii. Santosh Trophy started in 1941 named after the late Maharaja Sir Manmatha Nath Roy Chowdhary of Santosh.
iv. He was the President of the Indian Football Association.

7. INDIA TO SUPPLY 18 METER GAUGE DIESEL ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVES TO MYANMAR
i. RITES Public Sector Enterprise of Railways signed a contract with Myanmar to supply 18 Meter Gauge 1350 HP Diesel Electric Locomotives was signed at Naypyitaw, Myanmar.
ii. The supply contract of locomotives is a vital project being funded under an existing line of credit extended to Myanmar by Union Government.
iii. These locomotives will be manufactured by Diesel Locomotive Works, Varanasi with several modern features like microprocessor controls, fuel-efficient engine and ergonomic cab design etc.

iv. This supply will help Myanmar to meet increasing demand for passenger and freight traffic.

1. LONG MARCH AGAINST INDO-BANGLADESH POWER PLANT NEAR SUNDARBANS STARTED
i. 250 km long protest march against plans to build Rampal Power Station Indo-Bangladesh coal-fired power plant near the Sundarbans was started on 10th  March .
ii.The protest is started to stop  the project that supposedly will harm the ecosystem of the world's largest mangrove forest.
iii.The government has proposed Rampal Power Station at Bagerhat District in Khulna, Bangladesh.
iv. The Sundarbans is the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world.

2. RAILWAY MINISTER SURESH PRABHU LAUNCHED “CLEAN MY COACH” SERVICE
i. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu launched an online Clean My Coach service.
ii.The service will allow travelers to get their compartments cleaned by sending an SMS or by using an app or a designated website.
iii.The passenger will have to send an SMS on a mobile number 58888 to have their coach cleaned.

3. LOK SABHA PASSES AADHAAR (TARGET DELIVERY OF FINANCIAL AND OTHER SUBSIDIES, BENEFITS AND SERVICES) BILL, 2016
i. Lok Sabha has passed the Aadhaar (Target Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Bill, 2016
ii. It was introduced as Money Bill.
iii.The Bill is aimed  to provide statutory backing for transferring government subsidies and benefits to targeted people by assigning them Aadhaar numbers
iv.The government plans to plug leakages in disbursal of subsidies and other services and in ensuring that these reach intended beneficiaries.

4. CABINET APPROVES RS 8,000 CRORE FOR RURAL LPG UNDER PMUY SCHEME
i. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Yojana with an outlay of Rs 8,000 crore for three years.
ii. The government will provide LPG connections to rural households
iii.According to government  80 lakh people have voluntarily given up LPG subsidy.
iv. The scheme aims to provide LPG connections to women members of BPL families.

5. INDIA AND INDONESIA TO CONDUCT JOINT TRAINING EXERCISE "GARUDA SHAKTI IV"
i. Garuda Shakti exercise between India and Indonesia will be hosted by Indonesia.
ii. The exercise is aimed at building and promoting positive relations between the two Armies of India and Indonesia.
iii. The exercise will "enhance" the abilities of both the armies to undertake counter insurgency operations under the United Nations Charter.

6.  YES BANK LAUNCHES ALL-WOMEN ‘YES GRACE’ BRANCHES
i. Yes Ban launched an all-women operated bank branch 'Yes Grace' aimed at offering customised banking solutions to women.
ii. The branches will imoprove financial literacy, family banking, safety and wellness amongst women.

7. GUJARAT TOP STATE REGARDING INVESTMENT POTENTIAL

iii.The lowest in the rankings are the UP, Bihar, and Jharkhand.
iii. The rankings were based on five factors political stability, infrastructure, economic climate, governance, and perceptions.
