1. SC ALLOWS PICTURES OF CMS, GOVERNORS AND MINISTERS IN GOVERNMENT ADVERTISEMENTS
i. The Supreme Court has allowed publication of photographs of Governors, CM and the Ministers of the department concerned in government advertisements.
ii.The Ruling was given by a SC bench headed by Justice Ranjan Gogoi.
iii.Earlier the Supreme Court has modified its earlier 2015 order which only had permitted photographs of President, Prime Minister and Chief Justice of India  in the government advertisements.

2. INDIA INKS $35 MILLION LOAN AGREEMENT WITH WORLD BANK FOR MADHYA PROJECT
i. India has signed loan agreement of 35 million dollars with the World Bank for Madhya Pradesh.
ii. The objective of the project is to improve availability and quality of public services in the state through implementation of the Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act, 2010.
iii. It is expected to provide improved access to services and citizen outreach, performance management, simplification of government services and strengthening the capacity of implementing agencies.

3. GOA GOVERNMENT CLASSIFIED FENI AS HERITAGE SPIRIT OF GOA
i. Goa government classified the country liquor, Feni as Heritage Spirit of Goa. 
ii.Feni is the form of spirit produced exclusively in the coastal state.
iii.Feni is the first liquor product in the country to obtain such status and got its Geographical Indication certification in 2000.
iv.Feni is a brew made from coconut or cashew fruits

4. RUSA SCHEME TO BE IMPLEMENTED TO IMPROVE EQUITY, QUALITY OF HIGHER EDUCATION
i. Central government is going to implement the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan also known as RUSA.
ii.The scheme is started to provide
a.    financial support to proposals relating to promote  State Higher Education Plan  
b.   to Ensure adequate availability of quality faculty in all higher educational institutions
c.    to ensure capacity building at all levels.

5. MORE THAN RS 1 LAKH CRORE DISBURSED UNDER MUDRA YOJANA
i. Under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana Loans worth Rs 1.09 lakh crore have been sanctioned to small entrepreneurs.
ii. According to Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha loans worth over Rs 1.09 lakh crore were given to over 2.96 crore beneficiaries.
iii. Under Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, which was launched in April 2015 loans between Rs 50,000 and Rs 10 lakh are provided to small entrepreneurs.
iv. MUDRA stands for Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency a new institution being set up by Government of India for development and refinancing activities relating to micro units.

6. ACTRESS MICHELLE YEOH APPOINTED AS UNDP GOODWILL AMBASSADOR
i. Michelle Yeoh, the action heroine has been appointed as United Nations Development Programme  Goodwill Ambassador.
ii. The main aim of the UNDP is to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality.
iii. She will focus on raising awareness and mobilising support for the recently launched Sustainable Development Goals.
iv.Earlier the goodwill ambassador was Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova, she has been susupended  after she was tested positive on doping allegations.
7. PM NARENDRA MODI NAMED AMONG 30 MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE ON INTERNET LIST OF TIME MAGAZINE
i. Time Magazine has named PM Narendra Modi among the 2016 edition list of 30 most influential people on the internet.

ii.He was placed at 15th position and the list has been topped by the American hip hop artist and entrepreneur Kanye West.

1. 7TH GOVERNING BOARD MEETING OF INDO-GERMAN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CENTRE HELD IN NEW DELHI
i. 7th meeting of the Governing Board of the Indo German Science and Technology Centre  was held in New Delhi.
ii.The meeting was chaired by the Union Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan.
iii. It highlighted the achievements and progress of IGSTC in accelerating the bilateral Science & Technology collaboration.

2. ICICI BANK LAUNCHED NFC-BASED MOBILE PAYMENT SOLUTION TOUCH & PAY
i.ICICI Bank launched a new mobile payment solution Touch & Pay based on Near Field Communication technology.
ii.It will  enable the bank’s customers to make secure contactless payments at retail stores using smartphones.
ii. The Customers can make payment by tapping smart phone at a NFC enabled merchant terminal and make the payment through account linked ICICI Bank Debit/Credit Card.

3. INDIA RANKS 118TH ON UN’S WORLD HAPPINESS INDEX 2016
i. India ranked 118th out of 157 countries on the United Nations’ World Happiness Index 2016.
ii. Top 5 countries are Denmark followed by Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Finland and last rank given to  Burundi 157th.
iv.Among BRICS nations the list is stopped by Brazil followed by Russia , China , South Africa  and India .
v.World Happiness Report  is based on real GDP per capita, healthy life expectancy, corruption levels and social freedoms.

4. SHEHNAI EXPONENT USTAD ALI AHMAD HUSSAIN KHAN PASSES AWAY
i. Shehnai exponent Ustad Ali Ahmad Hussain Khan passed away due to long illness in Kolkatta, West Bengal.
ii. He was one of the best-known players of the instrument after the legendary Bismillah Khan
iii.Ustad Ali Ahmad Hussain Khan was known for his innovative style and mastery over the classical and semi-classical and folk music repertoire.

5. INDIA AVIATION SHOW 2016 STARTED IN HYDERABAD
i. The India Aviation 2016 an international exhibition and conference on civil aviation started in Hyderabad, Telangana.
ii.It was inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee at the Begumpet Airport .
iii.The India Aviation 2016 has been jointly organised by Ministry of Civil Aviation and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry to promote Make in India.

6. AAHAR 2016 STARTED IN NEW DELHI
i. The largest fair on Food and Hospitality AAHAR 2016 has been started at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
ii. It was inaugurated by Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
iii. The main aim of the fair is to promote Brand India on a global platform.
iv. AAHAR 2016 will cover two things:
a.    Hospitality India: It will cover Hotel & Restaurant Equipment and Supplies
b.   Food India: It will cover Foods, Processed Foods, Food Processing and Beverages

7. BRITISH MATHEMATICIAN SIR ANDREW WILES WON 2016 ABEL PRIZE
i. British mathematician Sir Andrew Wiles grabbed the 2016 Abel Prize in Oslo.
ii. He won the award for solving a centuries-old hypothesis, Fermat's Last Theorem.

iii.The Abel Prize is a Norwegian prize awarded annually by the Government of Norway to one or more outstanding mathematicians.

1. UN SUSPENDS MARIA SHARAPOVA AS GOODWILL AMBASSADOR AFTER DOPING ALLEGATIONS
i. The United Nations has suspended Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova as Goodwill Ambassador of the organisation after her antidoping  test came  positive.
ii. She was suspended by New York based UN Development Programme until the outcome of the investigation into her case is known.
iii.Maria sharapova  is the highest-paid female athlete had announced that she tested positive for a drug called meldonium, at the Australian Open .
iv.Meldonium is a medical drug given to patients suffering from heart and circulatory conditions for enhancing their physical capacity and mental function.

2. UNION GOVERNMENT IMPOSES ANTI-DUMPING DUTY ON PLASTIC-PROCESSING IMPORTS
i.Union Government has imposed anti-dumping duty on import of plastic-processing machines from Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam for five years.
ii.The anti-dumping duty will be levied on imports of all kinds of plastic-processing or injection-moulding machines
iii. Anti-dumping measures are taken to ensure fair trade and provide a level-playing field to the domestic industry.
Iv.The right to impose anti dumping is provided by World trade organization.

3. CAREER GUIDANCE COUNSELLING CENTRES LAUNCHED IN DELHI
i. career Guidance Counselling Centres were launched in Delhi to improve career  related oppurtunities.
ii.The centres were set-up to provide dedicated career services to young women seeking employment in the region.
iii.The career counselling centres are set up with United Nations Development Programme  and the India Development Foundation.
iv.The aim of these centres is to impact the lives of women in India through training, entrepreneurial skill development and employment.

4. 15 MARCH: WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY
i. World Consumer Rights Day is observed on 15 March in all over the world for celebration and solidarity within the international consumer movement.
ii.The Day is observed to provide an opportunity to promote the basic rights of all consumers and to protect them against the market abuses and social injustices.
iii.The theme of the day is “Antibiotics off the menu”.

5. MY BIOSPHERE, MY FUTURE CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED IN LIMA
i. My Biosphere, My Future campaign of UNESCO was launched at the 4th World Congress of Biosphere Reserves in Lima,Peru.
ii.The campaign is launched to promote Biosphere Reserves for sustainable development through different projects.

iii.The campaign will help  to address the problems of  biosphere and improve the income and quality of life through these projects.
