1. PRESIDENT MUKHERJEE RECEIVES THE HIGHEST CIVILIAN AWARD OF IVORY COAST
i. President Pranab Mukherjee has been awarded the highest civilian award of Ivory Coast, 'the National Grand Crois’.
ii. The award was given on his  two days visit to Ivory Coast on the second leg of his three-nation African tour.
iii. It is the first ever high-level visit from India to Ivory Coast.

2. CABINET APPROVES SBI TAKEOVER OF UNITS
i. A cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the takeover by State Bank of India of several subsidiaries.
ii. SBI wants to take over five units as well as state-run Bharatiya Mahila Ban\
iii. This is the first move to consolidate the country's struggling public sector banks.

3. INDIA TO PROVIDE RS 48 MILLIONN AID FOR COLLEGE BUILDING IN NEPAL
i. India has pledged a financial assistance of Rs 48.84 million to Nepal for the construction of a college building in the capital Kathmandu.
ii. The ambassador of India to Nepal Ranjit Rae laid the foundation stone of the building the Campus in Kathmandu district.
iii. The campus building is constructed with financial aid from India and the project is being implemented through District Development Committee of Kathmandu.

4. JAL MARG VIKAS PROJECT ON RIVER GANGA TO ENABLE COMMERCIAL NAVIGATION
i. Jal Marg Vikas is a project on the river Ganga that is being developed between Allahabad and Haldia to cover a distance of 1620 kilometers.
ii. The project is being implemented with technical and investment support from World Bank.
iii. It envisages the development of a fairway with three metres depth which would enable commercial navigation of at least 1500 ton vessels on the river.
iv. The construction of multimodal terminals, jetties, river information system, channel marking, navigational lock, river training and conservancy works are to be undertaken as part of the project.

5. UNION GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES SCHEME FOR SETTING UP 1000 MW CTU- CONNECTED WIND POWER PROJECT
i. The Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has launched a scheme for setting up of 1000 Mega Watt  Wind Power Project connected to transmission network of Central Transmission Utility
ii. The objective of the scheme is to facilitate the supply of wind power to the non-windy states at a price discovered through the transparent bidding process.

6. DCB BANK LAUNCHES AADHAAR ENABLED ATM IN BENGALURU
i. DCB Bank has launched Bengaluru's first ATM that accepts Aadhaar number and Aadhaar fingerprint (biometric) instead of ATM/Debit Card and PIN to dispense cash.
ii. The "cardless and PIN less" ATM was launched by former Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India, Nandan Nilekani.
iii. The Bank pilot launched India's first aadhaar based ATM in Mumbai.

1.14TH JUNE OBSERVED AS WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY
i. Every year, the World Blood Donor Day is being observed on 14 June.
ii. The day is observed to raise the public awareness about the need for safe blood donation.
iii. The day seeks to spread awareness about the need for safe and secure blood supplies.
iv. It will also provide an opportunity to draw public attention to the importance of blood donation for saving lives.
n. The Theme of the day is “Blood connects us all”.

2. PRESIDENT EMBARKS ON A SIX-DAY VISIT OF THREE AFRICAN NATIONS
i. President Pranab Mukherjee has begun his six-day three-nation visit to Ghana, Cotd’Ivory and Namibia.
ii. This is the maiden visit of Indian President to Ghana and Ivory Coast whereas to Namibia.

3. PM TO INAUGURATE 2-DAY CONFERENCE OF TAX ADMINISTRATORS ON JUNE 16
i. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the two-day Annual Conference of Senior Tax Administrators of Central Board of Direct Taxes  & Central Board of Excise & Customs  on 16th june in New Delhi.
ii. He will motivate the revenue officers towards achieving high standards in taxpayer friendly service.
iii. The Annual Conference has been given the brand name "Annual Conference of Tax Administrators”.

4. P.K SINHA PANEL TO LIST RBI GOVERNOR CANDIDATES
i. The government has made a selection committee headed by cabinet secretary P K Sinha to shortlist the candidates for Reserve Bank of India governor post.
ii. The decision in this regard was taken earlier by the Prime Minister in consultation with the finance minister

5. SEBI ISSUES STRICTER KYC, DISCLOSURE NORMS FOR P-NOTES
i. Markets regulator SEBI has put in place a stricter KYC norms and disclosure regime for Participatory Notes.
ii. The aim is to make it tougher to use these offshore instruments without disclosing the money-trail and details of their users.
iii. The measure comes after taking into account suggestions from SIT on black money to ensure this route is not used for money laundering.
iv. Under the new norms, all the users of P-Notes would have to follow Indian KYC and Anti Money Laundering Regulations.

6.  SIKKIM BECOMES INDIA’S FIRST STATE TO LAUNCH OPEN GOVERNMENT DATA PORTAL
i. Sikkim became the first state in India to have an open government data portal linked ‘sikkim.data.gov.in’.
ii. The portal was launched by Lok Sabha MP, P D Rai.
iii. The portal has been developed by Government of Sikkim’s Information Technology Department and NIC team from Delhi.
iv. The open government data portal facilitates free to use, reuse, and redistribution of data produced or commissioned by the government or government controlled entities by anyone.

1. SATYA PAL JAIN APPOINTED AS LAW COMMISSION MEMBER
i. Additional Solicitor General of India Satya Pal Jain has been appointed as a part-time member of the 21st Law Commission of India.
ii. The appointment will be in addition to his charge as an Additional Solicitor General of India.
iii. The President constituted the 21st Law Commission of India on 1 September 2015 and will end on 31 August 2018.
iv. Justice Balbir Singh Chauhan, retired Judge of the Supreme Court, is the Chairman of the Commission.
v. Law Commission of India is an executive body established by an order of the Government of India in 1955.
vi. It works for legal reforms and its members will be primarily legal experts, who are entrusted a mandate by the Union Government.

2. SIKKIM BECOMES INDIA’S FIRST STATE TO LAUNCH OPEN GOVERNMENT DATA PORTAL

4. UNION RAILWAYS MINISTRY FLAGS OFF CHAMPARAN SATYAGRAH EXPRESS TRAIN IN BIHAR
i. Union Railways Ministry has flagged off Champaran Satyagrah Express train at a function in Motihari, Bihar.
ii. Champaran Satyagrah Express train has been introduced to mark 100 years of the historic Champaran Satyagraha launched by Mahatma Gandhi in 1917.
iii. The Champaran Satyagraha of 1917 was Mahatma Gandhi’s first Satyagraha in India.
iv. It was launched against the oppressive policies European indigo planters that led to exploitation of tens of thousands of landless serfs, indentured labourers and poor farmers in Champaran.

5. GOOGLE, TATA TRUSTS LAUNCH ‘INTERNET SATHI’ IN WEST BENGAL TO EMPOWER RURAL WOMEN
i. The search giant Google Inc and Tata Trusts have jointly launched ‘Internet Saathi’ program in Purulia district of West Bengal.
ii. The initiative has been launched as part of Google’s ‘Helping Women Get Online’ campaign
iii. The main of the programme is to create awareness about the benefits of Internet among women in rural India.

1. WORLD DAY AGAINST CHILD LABOUR HAS BEEN OBSERVED ON 12TH JUNE
i. Every year the World Day against Child Labour has been Observed on 12th of June.
ii The day was started by the International Labour Organisation to focus attention on the global extent of child labour and the action and efforts needed to eliminate it.
iii. The theme for this year is 'End child labour in supply chains - It's everyone's business.'

2. INDIA, JAPAN AND US STARTED MALABAR EXERCISE NEAR THE SOUTH CHINA SEA
i. India, Japan and US have started the Malabar Exercise, near to  the South China Sea.
ii. The exercise aims to achieve deeper military ties and greater interoperability amid rising tensions in the region.
iii. In last year 2015 the exercise is conducted in Chennai and included the participation of Japan.
    
3. AAI HONOURED WITH THE NATIONAL AWARD FOR BEST PERFORMING CENTRAL PSU FOR GREEN ENERGY INITIATIVES
i. The Airports Authority of India has been honoured with the National Award for Best Performing Central PSU for Roof Top Solar Power initiatives.
ii. It has installed 4.8 megawatt peak power rooftop solar plants at 13 airports.

4. GOVERNMENT FORMS PANEL ON PSU EXECUTIVES PAY REVISION
i. The Government of India has constituted a committee to make recommendations on pay scale revision of executives in PSUs.
ii. The panel's suggestions will be submitted within six months of its constitution, and the government's decision on them will take effect from January 1, 2017.
iii. The last pay revision for the executives came into effect in 2007.

5. TELANGANA TO SET UP 12,500-ACRE PHARMA CITY NEAR HYDERABAD
i. The CM of Telangana state Mr. K. Chandrashekhar Rao has announced Telangana is going to set up a 'Pharma City' on 12,500 acres of land in Rangareddy and Mahbubnagar districts.
ii. The state already has been the drugs capital of the country with almost one-third of the total production in value terms.
iii. The proposed park will attract all pharmaceutical  manufacturing companies in telangana.
