1. IOA CHIEF RAMACHANDRAN AWARDED THE OLYMPIC ORDER
i. Indian Olympic Association President, N. Ramachandran was awarded the Olympic Order for his outstanding services to the Olympic movement.
ii. The Olympic Order is the highest award of the Olympic Movement awarded for particularly distinguished contributions to the Olympic Movement.
 iii. It was established in May 1975.

2. KAMAL HAASAN TO GET PRESTIGIOUS FRENCH HONOUR
i. Famous Actor Kamal Haasan will be honoured with the Chevalier de L'Ordre Arts et Lettres known as The Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government.
ii. The Order is part of France’s premier award, the Legion of Honor.
iii. The order of merit is awarded “to recognize eminent artists and writers, as well as people who have contributed significantly to furthering the arts in France and throughout the world.”
iv. Earlier Indians who have been conferred the Chevalier Order include actors are Sivaji Ganesan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Nandita Das and Shah Rukh Khan.

3. NAJMA HEPTULLA SWORN IN AS GOVERNOR OF MANIPUR
i. Former Union Minister Najma Heptulla was sworn-in as the governor of Manipur.
ii.She  replaced Shanmuganathan who was holding the dual charge of Governor of Manipur and Meghalaya.

4. INDO-CANADIAN SIKH MP BECOMES CANADA’S 1ST WOMAN HOUSE LEADER
i. Indo-Canadian Sikh MP Bardish Chagger has been named as the new Leader of the government in Canada’s House of Commons.
ii. She become the first woman to hold the post in the country’s history.

5. SANIA MIRZA GETS NO 1 SPOT IN WOMEN'S DOUBLES BY DEFEATING MARTINA HINGIS
i. Sania Mirza, paired with Barbora Strycova from the Czech Republic, defeated Martina Hingis and her partner Coco Vandeweghe.
ii. This is the first win for Indo-Czech pair.
iii. After winning this event sania retained her number one status on the women's doubles ranking as Hingis slipped to 2nd spot.

6. GUJARAT TO HOST 2016 KABADDI WORLD CUP
i. The International Kabaddi Federation announced that the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup will be hosted in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
ii. The tournament will take place from 7 October 2016 and will conclude on 22 October 2016.
iii. Gujarat will play host to 12 Kabaddi teams from around the world including India, USA, Canada, United Kingdom, , Pakistan, Australia, Iran, Poland and others.
iv. World Cup 2015 was cancelled because of 2015 Guru Granth Sahib desecration controversy.

1. PM MODI TO BE NEW BRAND AMBASSADOR OF INCREDIBLE INDIA
i. Indian government’s Tourism Ministry has decided to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi the brand ambassador of Incredible India.
ii. The face of PM will be used for the advertisements and promotional films. Even Gujarat Tourism’s prosperity will also be mentioned.

3. PM MODI'S MONOGRAMMED SUIT ENTERS GUINNESS RECORDS AS 'MOST EXPENSIVE SUIT SOLD'
i. The monogrammed suit worn by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during entered Guinness Book of World Records as ‘the most expensive suit sold’.

6. ANDHRA PRADESH POLICE LAUNCHES PILOT PROJECT ON DNA PROFILING
i. Andhra Pradesh Police has launched DNA Index System that allows generation of DNA profiles from live samples like saliva and blood stains.
ii. The system uses the latest DNA technology tool called RapidHIT.
iii. The DIS allows generation of DNA profiles using buccal swabs, blood stains, saliva and other live samples in less than two hours.

1. SACHIN TENDULKAR ADOPTED VILLAGE IN OSMANABAD UNDER SAGY
i. Rajya Sabha MP Sachin Tendulkar has adopted Donja village in Osmanabad district of Maharashtra for development under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna programme .
ii. Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is a rural development programme.
iii. The programme was launched by the Prime Minister of India on the birth anniversary of Jayaprakash Narayan, on 11 October 2014.

2. IIT-KANPUR ADOPTED VILLAGES UNDER NAMAMI GANGE
i. IIT-Kanpur has adopted 5 villages under the Namami Gange programme .
ii. It will use its expertise to restrict the flow of sewage into the river.
iii. The five villages adopted by the institute are: Ramel Nagar, Hari Hindpur, Khoyra Katree, Pratapur, and Katri Ladhva Khera.
iv.  IIT-Kanpur will ensure sewage water is not disposed of in the river and  also keep a check on quality of drinking water and sanitation.

3. 7 INDIAN COMPANIES AMONG TOP 200 CARBON CLEAN FIRMS
i. Seven Indian companies have been listed on carbon-clean list of 200 largest companies worldwide.
ii. Japan's Toyota Motor topped the list.
iii. Indian companies listed on the list are:
a.    Suzlon Energy at 68th place for wind farms.
b.   Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd at 106th place for wind electric generators and solar cells.
c.    Tata Chemicals placed at 114th rank for chemicals for biodiesel, solar energy and fuel cells.
d.   Thermax Ltd is placed at 139th rank.
e.    Exide Indus at 153rd place for electric storage batteries.

4. HINDI AUTHOR SUNITA JAIN HONOURED WITH VYAS SAMMAN AWARD
i. Hindi scholar and writer Sunita Jain has been honoured with Vyas Samman 2015 for her poetry collection "Kshama".
ii. West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi conferred the award on the scholar.
iii. The award is started by the K K Birla Foundation and is given annually to outstanding literary work in Hindi authored by an Indian citizen.

5. DOHA BANK OPENS FIRST BRANCH IN KERALA
i. Doha Bank has  inaugurating its first branch in Kerala.
ii. The branch will offers all banking products to corporate and retail customers.

7. URJIT PATEL APPOINTED AS NEXT RBI GOVERNOR
i. Urjit Patel is the new Reserve Bank of India Governor.
ii. He will replace Raghuram Rajan as the RBI governer.
iii. Raghuram rajan is going to step down on September 3, after his term comes to an end.
iv. Urjit will be India's 24th RBI Governor.
