1. ISRO LAUNCHES PSLV-C36 CARRYING REMOTE SENSING SATELLITE
i. The Indian Space Research Organisation has launched PSLV C36 Resource Sat-2A from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
ii. The satellite is intended to continue the remote sensing data services to global users.

2. HINDI LANGUAGE IN THE TOP 10 MOST POWERFUL LANGUAGES
i. The World Economic Forum has named Hindi language ranked 10th in the top 10 most powerful languages on the planet.
ii. The list is topped by English as the most powerful language followed by Mandarin.

3. IOC, BPCL, HPCL JOIN HANDS TO SET UP INDIA'S BIGGEST OIL REFINERY
i. Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corp have signed a pact to build India's biggest oil refinery at a cost of $30 billion on the west coast.
ii. The three firms signed the pact for the 60-million tonne a year refinery in Maharashtra
iii. IOC will hold a 50 % stake in the project while BPCL and HPCL will have 25 % each.

4. MAHILA E-HAAT TIES UP WITH INDIA POST, SBI
i. The Women and Child Development Ministry has tied up with India Post and SBI.
ii. This will offer more payment options to buyers and simplify shipping of products bought from "Mahila E-haat", an online marketing platform for women entrepreneurs.
iii. Now, SBI customers abroad can make use of "SBI Global".

1. International Volunteer Day – 5 December
i. The International Volunteer Day was observed across the world with the theme Global Applause– give volunteers a hand.
ii. This year's theme recognizes the volunteers worldwide and their efforts in making peace and sustainable development a reality.
iii. The Day was designated in 1985 by the United Nations as an international observance day to celebrate the power and potential of volunteerism.

2. World Soil Day 2016 – 5 December
i. The World Soil Day was observed at the Food and Agriculture Organization headquarters in Rome.
ii. The theme for the WSD is “Soils and pulses, a symbiosis for life.”
iii. The year 2016 was declared as the International Year of Pulses by 68th UN General Assembly.

3. The 6th Ministerial Conference of Heart of Asia
i. The 6th Ministerial Conference of the Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process concluded on after adopting the Amritsar Declaration. The declaration recognised terrorism as the biggest threat to peace and demands an immediate end to all forms of terrorism.
