GOVERNMENT SETS UP NATIONAL BOARD FOR ELECTRIC MOBILITY
i. To promote electric
mobility and manufacturing of electric/hybrid vehicles and their components,
Central Government constituted National Board for Electric Mobility.
ii. Its Chairperson is
the Secretary of Department of Heavy Industry.
iii. Members are Senior
Bureaucrats including Secretaries in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of
Road Transport & Highways, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of
Power and Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.

SOUTH ASIA SUBREGIONAL ECONOMIC COOPERATION FINANCE MINISTERS’ MEETING HELD IN
NEW DELHI
i. South Asia Subregional
Economic Cooperation Finance Ministers’ Meeting held in New Delhii. Mr. Arun Jaitley, Union Finance Minister chaired
the South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation Finance Ministers’ Meeting at
Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi. Along with Finance Ministers from Bangladesh,
India, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Myanmar and Sri Lanka, officials from Asian
Development Bank were also present.
ii. From this meeting,
Myanmar has become the 7th nation to join SASEC as a member country.

MALAYSIAN PRIME MINISTER MOHD NAJIB TUN RAZAK’S 5 DAY VISIT TO INDIA
i. Mohd Najib Tun Razak,
the PM of Malaysia was on an official visit to India for 5 days.
ii. Seven MoUs that were
signed in presence of Malaysian PM Mohd Najib Tun Razak and Indian PM Narendra
Modi in New Delhi.
iii. Out of the 7 MoUs
signed between Malaysia and India, the most significant was the one between
Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board and MIGHT Technology Nurturing Sdn.
Bhd for implementation of 4th Generation Technology Park in Andhra Pradesh.
4.
BERHAMPUR THAKURANI YATRA FESTIVAL BEGINS IN ODISHA
i. The festival of
Goddess Budhi Thakurani called Berhampur Thakurani Yatra begun in southern
Odisha.
ii. The month long
festival will be celebrated by the weaving community, known as Devangiris.
iii. The festival was
organized by P Durga Prasad Desibehera, whose family has been conducting the
festival for generations.
iv. Berhampur is called
the Silk city of Odisha. The festival has been celebrated in Berhampur from
1672.
