  1. SURESH PRABHU LAUNCHED INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY MASCOT ‘IP NANI’
i. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu has launched the Intellectual Property  mascot ‘IP Nani’.
ii. The mascot was launched during a conference on the National Intellectual Property Rights Policy in New Delhi.
iii. The first and foremost objective of the Policy is “IPR Awareness: Outreach and Promotion”, aimed at raising awareness on IPR for school children to nurture creativity and the ability to innovate from a very young age.

  1. HIMACHAL GOVT SANCTIONS RS 25 CR FOR RENOVATING BANTONY CASTLE
i. The Himachal Pradesh government will spend 25 crore rupees on renovating and developing the historic British Raj 'Bantony Castle Estate as a major tourist attraction.
ii. The Bantony Castle, owned by a business family and housing the state police headquarters, was acquired by the government for over 27 crores two years ago.

1.      PM MODI LAID FOUNDATION STONE OF INDIA’S LONGEST ROAD TUNNEL IN J&K
i. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a day-long visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
ii. Prime Minister laid down the foundation stone of 'Zojila Tunnel' on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway in Leh.
iii.The 14.2-kilometre long Zojila tunnel will be India’s longest road tunnel and Asia’s longest bidirectional tunnel.

2.      SHIVANGI PATHAK BECOMES YOUNGEST INDIAN WOMAN TO SCALE MOUNT EVEREST
i. India's Shivangi Pathak has become youngest women of the country to scale Mt Everest from Nepal side.
ii. According to the Managing Director of Seven Summit Treks, Mingma Sherpa, 16-year-old  Haryana Born Shivangi successfully stood atop world’s highest mountain.
iii.Arunima Sinha was the first Indian amputee to climb Mt Everest.

3.      DR HARSH VARDHAN’S ‘GREEN GOOD DEEDS’ GETS GLOBAL RECOGNITION
i. Green Good Deeds, the societal movement launched by Environment, Forest & Climate Change Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan to protect the environment and promote good living has found acceptance by the global community.
ii. Dr Harsh Vardan at the ongoing 4th BRICS Environment Ministerial in Durban, South Africa had urged the BRICS nations to jointly help in the development of a social movement to fight for the protection and conservation of the environment.

  1. INDIA 3RD LARGEST SOLAR MARKET IN WORLD: MERCOM REPORT
i. India emerged as the third largest solar market in the world in 2017 behind China and the US, according to the report of Mercom Communications India.
ii.. As per the report, India set a new record with 9.6 GW of solar installations in 2017, which was more than double the 4.3 GW installed in 2016.
iii. The robust growth boosted the country's total solar installed capacity to 19.6 GW as of December 2017.

  1. YES BANK LAUNCHES AGENDA 25×25
i. YES Bank launched Agenda 25×25, which pledges to create a synergetic startup environment for budding women entrepreneurs in India.
ii.The effort would ensure that by 2025 at least 25% of all entrepreneurs in India are women.
iii. The bank made the announcement at the YES Bank – YES Global Institute Annual Startup Conclave hosted in partnership with NITI Aayog, Invest India, Startup India and Atal Innovation Mission.

  1. SMRITI IRANI CHAIRS MEETING OF STAKEHOLDERS ON ‘SAMARTH’- SCHEME IN DELHI
i. A meeting of stakeholders on 'Samarth' – Scheme for Capacity Building in Textile Sector under the Skill India Mission was held in New Delhi to familiarize the stakeholders about the scheme and its guidelines.
ii.The meeting was chaired by Union Minister of Textiles, Smriti Zubin Irani.
iii. The broad objective of the new scheme is to skill the youth for gainful and sustainable employment in the textile sector covering the entire value chain of textiles, excluding spinning and weaving.

  1. INDIA UNVEILS NATIONAL WIND-SOLAR HYBRID POLICY
i. To boost clean energy generation, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy  unveiled a National Wind-solar Hybrid Policy which seeks to promote new projects as well as hybridisation of the existing ones.
ii. Under the scheme, the government would bid out wind-solar hybrid projects on tariff-based competitive bidding and these projects can be set up anywhere across the country depending on feasibility and land availability with bidders.

  1. CIPAM-DIPP ORGANIZES A CONFERENCE ON NATIONAL IPR POLICY
i. The Cell for IPR Promotion and Management , a professional body under the aegis of the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion , organized a conference on successful completion of two years of the National Intellectual Property Rights  Policy adopted by the Government of India in May 2016 in New Delhi.
ii.The National IPR Policy is a vision document that aims to create and exploit synergies between all forms of intellectual property , concerned statutes and agencies.

1.      UNDP TO SET UP SKILL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE IN HYDERABAD
i. United Nations Development Programme  has announced to set up a skill development centre at 'Bharosa,' an integrated support centre for distressed women and children in Hyderabad.
ii. 'Bharosa,' an initiative of Hyderabad City Police, is a state-of-the-art centre to support women and children who are victims of violence.

2.      PAR PANEL TO LOOK INTO BLACK MONEY RECOVERY, PERFORMANCE OF PSBS
i. A parliamentary panel headed by veteran BJP leader Murali Manohar Joshi decided to study the recovery of black money and performance of public sector banks  among a host of subjects.
ii. The panel will look into the import of uranium for nuclear plants, mining activities and environment, upgrading of India Post offices and the drought situation in the country among other matters.

3.      INDIA, NEPAL AGREE TO EXPAND THEIR PARTNERSHIP FOR SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
i. India and Nepal have agreed to expand their partnership for socio-economic development on the basis of principles of equality, trust, respect and mutual benefit.
ii. PM  Modi and his Nepalese counterpart KP Sharma Oli emphasized the need for the regular convening of bilateral mechanisms to review the overall state of bilateral relations.

4.      FITCH PREDICTS 7.3% GROWTH RATE OF INDIA IN 2018-19
i. Credit rating agency Fitch has stated that India's economic growth will accelerate to 7.3% in the current financial year (2018-19) and 7.5% in the next fiscal (2019-20).
ii. Fitch stated the growth rate will accelerate as money supply has recovered to its pre-demonetisation level and disruptions related to the rollout of GST have diminished.

3.      VIJAY PRAHAR EXERCISE OF INDIAN ARMY CONCLUDED IN RAJASTHAN

1.      15TH ASIA-MEDIA SUMMIT BEGINS IN NEW DELHI
i. The 15th Asia Media Summit has begun in New Delhi.
ii. The theme of the Summit is 'Telling our Stories - Asia and More'. Representatives from 40 countries are participating in the Summit.

2.      RAVI SHANKAR PRASAD LAUNCHES WEBSITE OF DIGITAL INDIA INTERNSHIP SCHEME
i. Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad launched the website of Digital India Internship Scheme in New Delhi.
ii.Under this scheme, 25 interns will be inducted for a period of three months.
iii. The internship is an opportunity for a student to secure first hand and practical work experience under the guidance of qualified and experienced Supervisor and Mentor.

3.      15TH FINANCE COMMISSION CONSTITUTED ADVISORY COUNCIL
i. The 15th Finance Commission has constituted an advisory council to advise and assist the commission.
ii.The six-member council will be headed by the President of Forum for Strategic Initiatives, Arvind Virmani.

4.      CHINA LAUNCHED GAOFEN-5  TO MONITOR AIR POLLUTION
i. China has successfully launched a hyperspectral imaging satellite 'Gaofen-5' for comprehensive observation of the atmosphere, including air pollution which is one of the country's major problems.
ii.The Gaofen-5 satellite was launched off the back of a Long March 4C rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.
