1. HARIKA WON BEST WOMEN'S PLAYER IN KAZAKHSTAN BLITZ
i. Grand Master Harika Dronavalli won the best women's player award in the Eurasian Blitz chess tournament in Kazakhstan.
ii. Harika had won the best woman's prize at the Zalakaros International Chess Festival in Hungary

2. NAGALAND GOVERNOR LAUNCHES WOMEN'S HELPLINE NUMBER '181'
i. Governor of Nagaland and Assam P B Acharya has launched women helpline number – 181.
ii. He also inaugurated Sakhi, a one stop Centre for the support women affected by violence both in private and public spaces under one roof.

3. UK PRIME MINISTER DAVID CAMERON ANNOUNCED RESIGNATION AFTER BREXIT VOTE
i. The Prime Minister of United Kingdom  David Cameron announced his resignation hours after the Brexit vote that favoured leaving the European Union .
ii. During the campaign he advocated for remaining with the EU.
iii. In the referendum 51.89 % of the voters preferred to leave the EU.

4. MAHASHANGARH DECLARED AS THE SARRC CULTURAL CAPITAL FOR 2016-17
i. Mahasthangarh, the 3rd century BC archaeological site in Bogra, Bangladesh, has been declared as the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation cultural capital for the year 2016-17.
ii. It  will host festivals on literature, foods ,films and dances from October 2016 to September 2017.
iii. The year 2016-17 has also be declared the SAARC Year of Cultural Heritage.

5.  INDIAN-ORIGIN LAWYER TO CHAIR PANEL ON HUMAN RIGHTS IN SOUTH SUDAN
i. Indian-origin lawyer Yasmin Sooka has been appointed to chairman of UN commission to monitor the human rights situation in South Sudan.
ii. The committee was formed by the United Nations Human Right Council 
iii. The other two members of the committee are Kenneth R. Scott  and Godfrey M. Musila .
iv. The committee has been formed to monitor human rights violations in South Sudan and make recommendations for the process of transitional justice, healing and reconciliation.

6. INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING HAS BEEN OBSERVED ON JUNE 26TH                                                 
i. The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed every year on June 26.
ii. The day is observed to raise awareness about the major problem of illicit drugs.
iii. The theme of the day is “Listen First”.

1. BREXIT WON AS BRITAIN VOTES TO LEAVE EUROPEAN UNION
i. The United Kingdom has voted to leave the European Union after 43 years in a historic referendum.
ii. According to the reports London and Scotland voted strongly to stay in the Union.
iii. But the remaining vote has been done against it which mainly contains the north of England.

2. UNION GOVERNMENT APPROVED SETTING UP OF DISTRICT LEVEL ADVISORY AND MONITORING COMMITTEES
i. Union Ministry of Urban Development has approved the setting up of District Level Advisory and Monitoring Committees.
ii. The committees are formed to promote people centric planning and execution of new urban development schemes.
iii. These committees will include Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assembly.
iv. These Committees will oversee, review and monitor implementation of urban development, affordable housing and urban poverty alleviation programmes.

3. UNION GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES INDIA’S FIRST PILOT PROGRAMME TO RUN TWO-WHEELERS ON CNG IN NEW DELHI
i. Union Government has launched a pilot programme to run two-wheelers on Compressed Natural Gas  in New Delhi to curb air pollution in cities.
ii. The project was jointly launched by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar
iii. The project has been launched by Indraprastha Gas Limited under its “Hawa Badlo” movement.

4. RBI RELEASES FRAMEWORK ON PAYMENTS SYSTEMS
i. Reserve Bank of India has released 'Vision-2018' document.
ii. The ‘Payment and Settlement Systems in India: Vision-2018’ aims at building best of class payment and settlement systems for a ‘less-cash’ India .
iii. It will also ensure access to mobile banking services to even basic phone users.

5. M S DHONI BECOMES BRAND AMBASSADOR OF EXIDE LIFE INSURANCE
i. Exide Life Insurance has announced India's ODI and T20 cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as its brand ambassador.
ii. Mr. Dhoni will feature in the Exide Life Insurance marketing campaign “Lamba saath, bharose Ki baat.”

6. BCCI APPOINTS ANIL KUMBLE AS THE NEW COACH OF INDIAN CRICKET TEAM
i. Former Spinner Anil Kumble will be the new coach of Indian Cricket Team.
