1.      FOUNDING CONFERENCE OF INTERNATIONAL SOLAR ALLIANCE HELD IN NEW DELHI
The founding conference of International Solar Alliance was held in New Delhi.
The conference was co- hosted by Indian President Ram NathKovind and visiting French President Emmanuel Macron.
 Prime Minister NarendraModi stated that India has set a target to generate 175 GW of electricity from renewable energy sources by 2022.

2.      FIRST EVER MULTI-NATION NAVAL EXERCISE AT SEA BEGINS IN ANDAMAN
‘MILAN 2018’, a multinational naval exercise hosted by Indian Navy began  at Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The Objective behind MILAN 2018 is to expand regional cooperation and combat unlawful activities in critical sea lanes in Indian Ocean region.
The Theme of ‘MILAN 2018’ is ‘Friendship Across the Seas’.
iv. Total 28 warships including 17 from India and 11 from Australia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand are participating in MILAN 2018.


3.      FIRST EVER ‘CRIME-FREE ZONE’ ALONG INDIA, BANGLADESH INTERNATIONAL BORDER
 i. The 8.3 km stretch covers the Gunarmath and Kalyani Border Out Posts  in India and the Puthkhali and Daulatpur BOPs in Bangladesh.
ii. Both the forces, with the help of the civil administrations, NGOs and the local populace from both the sides will work together to ensure that no crime or anti-social activity occurs along this stretch.
iii. This stretch is one of the most vulnerable, along which, cattle smuggling and other criminal activities are carried out.
iv. Decision to develop such ‘crime-free zone’ stretches was taken during the Director General level talks in New Delhi in October 2017.

4.      SPICEJET FLIGHT FROM KOLKATA BECOMES THE FIRST PASSENGER PLANE TO LAND IN SIKKIM
i.Spicejet Q400 Bombardier, a SpiceJet commercial flight from Kolkata made a successful landing at the Pakyong Airport in Sikkim for the first time.
ii.SpiceJet flight from Kolkata becomes the first passenger plane to land in SikkimSpiceJet flight from Kolkata becomes the first passenger plane to land in Sikkim:
ii. It took off from Kolkata Airport and landed at the Pakyong Airport.
iii. The Pakyong Airport has been constructed newly. It was ready for operation from the start of this year.

5.      INDIA B LIFTS DEODHAR TROPHY 2017-18:
i. India B team defeated Karnataka team by six wickets in the final and won the Deodhar Trophy 2017-18.
ii. Man of the Match: Ravikumar Samarth. Ravikumar Samarth of Karnataka team scored 107 runs and received the Man of the Match honour.

6.      AUSTRALIA BEAT ENGLAND TO LIFT SULTAN AZLAN SHAH CUP 2018 IN MALAYSIA
Australia won the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2018 title, in Malaysia after beatingEngland .
i. Australia defeated England 2-1 in the final and won the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. England finished in the second position.
ii. Argentina defeated Malaysia 3-2 and secured third place.
iii. India defeated Ireland 4-1 and finished in the fifth position.
