i. Union Government inaugurated tier-1 oil spill response centre for Mumbai and JNPT harbour.

2. ALI SMITH WON 2015 BAILEY WOMEN’S PRIZE:

i. UK author Ali Smith won 2015 bailey women’s prize.

ii. Ali Smith won bailey prize for fiction for her novel, “HOW TO BE BOTH”.

iii. Earlier the book was shortlisted for the 2014 MAN BOOKER PRIZE and the 2015 FOLIO PRIZE.

3. NATION WIDE JAL KRANTI ABHIYAN LAUNCHED:

i. Union Ministry of water resources launched nation wide jal kranti abhiyan from Jaipur.

ii. Union Minister of water resources, river development and ganga rejunivetion UMA BHARTI launched the abhiyan.

4. WORLD ENVIORNMENT DAY OBSERVED GLOBALLY:

i. World Enviornment Day was observed globally on 5^th june 2015.

ii. World Enviornment Day 2015 was observed with the theme, “SEVEN BILLION DREAMS. ONE PLANET. CONSUME WITH CARE”.

5. IRWIN ROSE PASSED AWAY:

i. Noble Prize winner Irwin Rose passed away.

ii. IRWIN won Noble Prize in CHEMISTRY in 2004.

iii. Rose won Noble Prize for discovering a way that cells destroy unwanted proteins for developing new therapies for diseases such as CERVICAL CANCER and CYSTIC FIBROSIS.

6. WRESTLER PREM NATH PASSED AWAY:

i. Indian Wrestler Prem Nath passed away.

ii. Prem Nath won Gold medal at the 1974 Christchurch Commonwealth Games.

1. JAIPUR GETS METRO RAIL SERVICE:

i. Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje inaugurated Phase 1 of Jaipur metro rail service.

ii. Pink city became the sixth city in the country to have metro service.

iii. Jaipur metro is publicized as one of the fastest built metros in the country as it has been developed within a time period of four and a half year.

2. UNION GOVERNMENT LAUNCHED KHOYA PAYA WEB PORTAL:

i.  Union Government launched khoya paya web portal to exchange information on missing children.

ii.  Khoya Paya web portal khoyapaya.gov.in is first of its kind citizen based website.

iii.  It was jointly launched by Maneka Gandhi and Ravi Shanker Prasad.

3.  IAP HEALTHPHONE PROGRAMME LAUNCHED:

i. South Korea and China have signed bilateral Free Trade Agreement in Seoul, South Korea.

i.    Jyoti Prasad Rajkumar sworn in as the new Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.

ii.  The oath of the office was administered by the Chief Justice of guwahati, Jusitice K sreedhar Rao.

3.  WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY: 31^ST MAY 2015:

i.  World No Tobacco Day was observed on 31^st May 2015 around the globe.

ii.  WHO launched Campaign against illicit trade of tobacco products on World No Tobacco Day 2015.

4.  SBI LAUNCHED ONLINE CUSTOMER ACQUISITION SOLUTION:

i.   SBI has launched online customer acquisition solution (OCAS)

ii.  It is an online platform to apply for Home Loans, car loans, Education Loans and personal loans

iii.  Application was launched by SBI chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya.

5.  SEPP BLATTER RE-ELECTED AS FIFA PRESIDENT:

i.  Joseph Sepp Blatter is re-elected as FIFA president for the fifth term

ii.  Sepp Blatter secured 133 votes out of 206 valid votes

4.  48 TIGERS IN CHANDRAPUR FOREST :

i.   According to WCT survey, 48 tigers are present in non protected Chandrapur forest areas of Maharashtra.

ii.  No. of Big Cats in the district stands at 120, including 60 in core area and 12 in buffer area of TATR.

iii.  Study was carried out by Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra (FDCM).
