1.    Sindu Sudarshan-VII exercise
ü Indian Army has conducted its second phase of the exercise named Sindu Sudarshan-VII in Jaisalmer-Barmer deserts of Rajasthan.

2.    SAANS campaign to curb pneumonia deaths
ü Dr. Harsh Vardhan launched “SAANS” campaign in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.SAANS which is in short of ‘Social Awareness and Action to Neutralise Pneumonia Successfully‘ was launched with the aim of reducing child mortality due to pneumonia. It aims to mobilise people to protect children from the disease and to train health personnel and other stakeholders in controlling the disease.

3.    Bharatiya Poshan Krishi Kosh (BPKK)
ü Smriti Zubin Irani has announced the Bharatiya Poshan Krishi Kosh (BPKK), a repository of a variety of crops across 128 agro-climatic zones for better nutritional outcomes in New Delhi. MoWCD has collaborated with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for this project.

4.    Indian govt. extended Visa-on-arrival facility to UAE citizens

5.    Water Quality Report 2019
ü Ram Vilas Paswan has released BIS’s  (Bureau of Indian Standards) Water Quality Report 2019 for State Capitals & Delhi.
ü Mumbai ranked number 1 in this report. Hyderabad (Telangana) is at number two and it was followed by Bhubaneswar,Odisha (3rd ). Delhi’s water is the worst as all the 11samples drawn from various places did not comply with the requirements .

1.    Sisseri River bridge in Arunachal Pradesh
ü Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Sisseri River bridge at Lower Dibang Valley in Arunachal Pradesh. This 200-metre long bridge which connects Dibang Valley and Siang district, was built by Project Brahmank of the Border Roads Organisation(BRO).

2.    CBI Special unit to tackle Child Porn
ü Online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (OCSAE) Prevention and Investigation Unit started by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in New Delhi under the special crime zone to control the exploitation of child porn on the Internet.

1.    Bribery Risk Index 2019
ü According to the report ‘Trace Bribery Risk Matrix 2019’, India has ranked 78th among 200 countries. Bangladesh ranked 178th and became highest bribery risk country among South Asian countries. New Zealand tops in least risk and Somalia became top risk country among 200 countries.

2.    PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Brazil
ü PM Narendra Modi, paid a two-day visit to Brazil to attend the 11th annual BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit. The theme of the summit was “Economic growth for an innovative future.”
ü Brazilian president Jair Messias Bolsonaro accepted Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi’s invite to attend the 2020 Republic Day as chief guest.

1.    SCO’s Heads of government council meet 2020 
ü Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation(SCO) Vladimir Norov, announced that India would host the 19th council of heads of government in 2020. The meeting will be organized in New Delhi. This is the first time India will be hosting the meeting after its admission into SCO as a member in 2017.

2.    President’s rule enforced in Maharashtra
ü President Ram nath kovind approves Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s recommendation on deadlock of govt formation.
ü Article 356 of the Constitution provides for the imposition of President’s Rule in a state in “case of failure of the constitutional machinery in the state”.

3.    Ayodhya verdict: Disputed land allocated for temple
ü Supreme Court  gave its final judgment on the long disputed Ayodhya case to construct a Ram temple at Ayodhya site in Uttar Pradesh. It has also directed the centre to allocate a separate land of 5 acres for the Sunni Waqf Board for building a Mosque.
ü The 5-member SC constitution bench, comprised of justices Sharad Arvind Bobde, Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan, Abdul Nazeer and Ranjan Gogoi (head).

1.    National Water Policy
ü Union ministry of water resources has announced a committee to draft a new National Water Policy (NWP). The committee comprising of 10 members, will be headed by Mihir Shah, former planning commission member and a water expert.

2.    Sanskrit Bharati Vishwa Sammelan
ü The Sanskrit Bharati Vishwa Sammelan, global conference on the Sanskrit language was held in New Delhi . During the conference, an exhibition titled “Sanskriti Pradarshini”  showcasing the development of the sanskrit language.
ü Also CM of Himachal Pradesh Jairam Thakur was honoured by Venkaiah Naidu at the conference, for giving second language status to Sanskrit in the state.

1.    PM Modi inaugurated Kartarpur corridor
ü PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Integrated Check Post(ICP) and flagged off the 1st batch of pilgrims at Kartarpur Sahib corridor at Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur city of Punjab in India. The ICP would provide Indian pilgrims to visit Gurudwara Kartapur Sahib in Pakistan.
PM also  released commemorative coin marking the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev (founder of Sikhism). 

2.    Tri-service exercise named “INDRA 2019”
ü The first-ever joint tri-service exercise between India and Russia named “INDRA 2019” .
ü The first phase was conducted in-service locations of Babina (Uttar Pradesh), Pune (Maharashtra) and Goa.

1.    Global Investor’s Meet 2019
ü Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated first edition of the ‘Rising Himachal: Global Investor’s Meet 2019’ at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The meet was organised by the Himachal State govt. The partner country for the event was United Arab Emirates(UAE). 

2.    India international science festival 2019
ü The 5th edition of India International Science Festival (IISF) 2019 with the theme “RISEN India – Research, Innovation, and Science Empowering the Nation” has been held at at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata, West Bengal.

3.    RBI raises income & lending limit for MFIs
ü RBI has raised the household income eligibility limit for eligible borrowers from NBFC –MFIs (Non-Banking Financial Companies-  Micro finance Institutions) to Rs 1.25 lakh from the existing Rs 1 lakh in rural areas and from Rs 1.6 lakh to Rs 2 lakh in urban /semi-urban areas.
RBI also increased the limit on disbursal of loans to Rs 75,000 from Rs 60,000 for the 1st cycle, and from Rs 1 lakh for the successive cycles to Rs 1.25 lakh.

4.    Report -“Furthering Digital Payments”
ü As per the report titled “Furthering Digital Payments” released by the  RBI, Banks will not be able to charge any fee for online National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) transactions done by the savings bank account customers from January 2020.

5.    Anjani Kumar was appointed as India’s next ambassador to Mali

6.    FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup
ü India has been named as the host country for 2023 FIH Men’s World Cup.The decision was finalized by the Executive Board of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) in the last annual meeting which held in Lausanne, Switzerland.

7.    National Legal Service Day-2019
ü National Legal Service day (NLSD) is celebrated every year on November 9. Legal Service Day was started in 1995 by Supreme court.

ü ‘Samudra Shakti 2019 ‘ between India navy & Indonesia navy was held in Bay of BengalINS Kamorta, an anti-submarine warfare corvette was jointly exercising with Indonesian warship KRI Usman Harun as part of the exercise.

2.     ‘India Justice Report 2019’ 
ü According to ‘India Justice Report 2019’, Maharashtra is the top state among the 18 large-medium states that leads in the overall ranking of Indian States on justice delivery, followed by Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab.

3.    Moody’s revises India’s economic outlook
ü American financial service company Moody’s has downgraded India’s economic outlook to “Negative” from “Stable”. This downgrade was due to slow growth in the economy.
Moody’s has also predicted a budget deficit of 3.7% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the year through March 2020, which is a breach in the govt’s target of 3.3%.

ü On November 7, 2019, As per G.Kishan Reddy ‘No Money for Terror’ Conference will be organized in India in 2020. This announcement was made by Minister at the second ‘No Money for Terror’2019 conference going on in MelbourneAustralia.

2.    FoTN 2019 report
ü Freedom House (international internet rights) released its ‘Freedom on the Net’ (FoTN) report for the year 2019, titled ‘The Crisis of Social Media’, regarding an overall decline and access in global internet freedom.
India’s total scores and status is 55.
Iceland became a top country for providing the freedom for accessing the Internet services.

ü In Women, Peace, and Security Index for the year 2019. India was ranked 133rd out of 167 countries. The list was topped by Norway which was followed by Switzerland and Finland in the second and third places respectively.
ü Yemen was ranked last at 167th place in the index.

2.    Parliamentary speakers’ summit of G20
ü  Lok sabha speaker Om Birla composed the Indian Parliament delegation for 6th parliamentary summit of G20 countries, held in Tokyo, Japan. The summit is unofficially called P20, which was hosted by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), headquartered in Geneva and the House of Councilors of National Diet of Japan
The summit had three sessions on separate themes related to trade, technology and sustainable development

1.    India’s global mega-science exhibition, ‘Vigyan samagam 2019’
ü Dr Harsh Vardhan has inaugurated the India’s 1st -ever multi-venue Mega science exhibition, ‘Vigyan Samagam 2019’, at the iconic Science City in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Presence of prestigious projects and organisations such as European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research’ (FAIR), India-based Neutrino Observatory(INO), etc.

2.    WEF to be held in Switzerland
ü The 50th edition of the World Economic Forum(WEF) is to be held in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, January 2020. The theme of the forum is fixed as ‘Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World.’
The president of the WEF Børge Brende, has invited Telangana Information and Technology(IT) minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, to the forum appreciating his work of launching various IT initiatives in the state.

1.    Postal ballot voting for voters with disabilities.
ü The govt. has announced that disabled people and people aged above 80 years can vote through postal ballot in-order to increase the voters’ turnout. The announcement was made after the ministry of law and justice and amended Conduct of Election Rules, 1961.

2.    BASIC ministerial meet on climate change.
ü The 29th BASIC ministerial meet on climate change was held in Beijing, China. Members of the BASIC countries (Brazil, South Africa, India, China) participated in the event. From the Indian side, Prakash Javadekar participated in the event. India’s offer to host the 30th BASIC ministerial meeting was welcomed.

3.    NAM Summit 2019.
ü The XVIII (18th) summit of heads of state and government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) was held in Baku, Azerbaijan. The theme of the summit for 2019 was “Upholding the Bandung Principles to ensure concerted and adequate response to the challenges of the contemporary world.” From the Indian side, Vice President Shri Venkaiah Naidu addressed the summit.

4.    1 billion transactions through UPI in Oct 2019.

ü Unified Payments Interface (UPI) as it has achieved the double milestone of 1 billion transactions as well as has crossed 100 million users in October 2019. With this, UPI has become the fastest-growing system in the world. 
5.    World Bank’s ease of doing business.

ü According to the  World Bank (WB), Kolkata and Bengaluru will be added to the list of World Bank’s ease of doing business survey from the year 2020.The survey so far covered only Delhi and Mumbai.
ü India has ranked 63rd in the list with the score of 71.0.
The World Bank has decided to select 4 cities each from the countries with over 100 million populations. 

6.    New Lt Governors of J&K and Ladakh.

ü Former IAS officer Girish Chandra Murmu and Radha Krishna Mathur were appointed as first Lieutenant (Lt) Governors of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and Ladakh respectively. These Union Territories will come into existence on October 31, 2019. These newly appointed governors succeed Satya Pal Malik.

7.    M.L. Khattar becomes Haryana CM for the 2nd time.
ü BJP’s Manohar Lal Khattar was sworn in as Haryana’s chief minister (CM) for a second term (11th CM). He will lead the BJP-JJP (Jannayak Janata Party) coalition government in the state. JJP leader Dushyant Chautala took oath as the deputy CM of the state.
8.    Joko Widodo sworn in as the Indonesia president.
ü Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo, (7th president) popularly known as Jokowi, was sworn in for the final(2nd) term as the President of Indonesia for a 5-year term period.

9.    New CMD of NSIC.
ü Vijayendra has been appointed as Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD)of National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). He succeeds Ram Mohan Mishra.
