1.    IRIFM inaugurated
ü The Indian Railway Institute of Financial Management (IRIFM) by the Indian Railways (IR) has been set up in Hyderabad, Telangana. The institute will provide professional training in railway finances management. It was inaugurated by Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman of the Railway Board.

2.    ‘Insurance Khata’
ü India First Life Insurance, a leading life insurance company in India has partnered with Spice Money, a tech-led financial services provider, for distribution and marketing of ‘insurance khata’, a micro-insurance plan aims at the informal sector & agricultural labourers with seasonal incomes.

1.    PM Modi launched Fit India School grading system
ü  PM Narendra Modi launched the Fit India school grading system in schools across the country. The system ranks schools based on the fitness activities and facilities for such provided to students and teachers in the country.
ü  Pm also announced the ‘Fit India week’ to be celebrated by the students and teachers in the first week of December.

2.    Bangladesh topped foreign tourist visits to India 2018
ü  As per the report, Bangladesh topped the list for having maximum no. of the country’s visitors to India. Bangladesh was followed by United States and United Kingdom in the second and third place respectively.
Among individual state visits, TamilNadu(TN) topped the list with for having the maximum number of tourist arrivals. In 2018, TN had 60 lakh foreign visitors.

1.    7 crore farmers benefited under PM-KISAN scheme 
ü  The govt has announced that over 7 crore farmers have been benefited under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. 
ü  Uttar Pradesh has the highest no. of beneficiaries under the scheme among all states.
PM-KISAN scheme provides Rs 6000 per year in 3 installments to the farmers.

2.    2019 Nomura’s Food Vulnerability Index
ü  The report was about 50 countries, most vulnerable to the food price surge. India ranked 44th in the list out of the total 110 countries taken for analysis.
ü  The ranking was based on the exposure in food prices based on 3 components. They were on country’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) per person share of food in household consumption and net food imports.

3.    India ASEAN Innotech summit 2019
ü  2nd India ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) InnoTech Summit 2019 based on the theme “Accelerating towards innovative development” held at Davao, Philippines.

4.    Muthoot Finance acquired IDBI’s MF business
ü  Kerala-based gold loan non-banking financial company Muthoot Finance (MFIN) has entered into an agreement with IDBI bank (Industrial Development Bank of India) in acquiring its Mutual Fund (MF) business for Rs 215 crore.
ü  The MFIN will also acquire a 100% stake in both IDBI Asset Management Company(AMC) and IDBI MF trustee company by the end of February 2020.

5.    ‘K12 Education Transformation Framework’
ü  Microsoft has launched “K-12 Education Transformation Framework” in India. The framework is about facilitating digital transformation of schools in India. It was launched during the “2nd edition Microsoft Education Days” conducted by Microsoft in Gurgaon, Haryana.

6.    World’s largest GPU-accelerated cloud-based supercomputer
ü  NVIDIA announced the World’s Largest GPU (graphics processing unit)-accelerated cloud-based supercomputer named NDv2 on Microsoft Azure. NDv2 is a supercomputer that has been built to handle most demanding Artificial intelligence (AI) and its High-Performance Computing (HPC) application.

7.    ‘Avian botulism’ killed 18,000 Migratory Birds
ü  The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh confirmed Avian botulism is the reason behind the mass mortality of 18,000 migratory birds from Northern Asia, at Sambhar Lake in Rajasthan. Botulism is a natural toxin produced by bacterial strain which affects the nervous system of birds.

10. Amaravati included in Indian map as capital
ü  The Survey of India, India’s central engineering agency in charge of mapping and surveying has released an updated map of India with Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh (AP).

1.    NIA conducted 1st CT-TTX exercise
ü The National Investigation Agency(NIA) hosted its first ever counter-terrorism exercise for the “Quad” countries (India, the US, Japan and Australia) at the NIA headquarters in New Delhi.The exercise is named ‘CT-TTX‘ (counter-terrorism table-top exercise) aims to address the global and regional issues of common interest.

2.    2 lakh gram panchayats to be connected with internet
ü Govt has set a target of connecting 2 lakh gram panchayats by March 2020.
As of 7th November 2019 1,28,000 gram panchayats have been provided with internet connectivity under phase 1 of the BharatNet project.
It was also announced that BharatNet project for providing digital connectivity to 2.5lakh villages has been under implementation under phase 2.

2.    Medical treatment in India exempted from obtaining medical Visa
ü The consulate general of India in Dubai in its notification announced exemption of getting primary Indian visa converted to Medical visa for foreigners (except Pakistani National) seeking medical treatment in India
ü As per the notification, the exemption will be applicable to foreigners seeking indoor treatment of upto 180 days in a hospital due to illness.

1.    Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial (Amendment) Bill 2019
ü The bill was first passed in Lok Sabha on August 2, 2019. The Bill seeks to amend the Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Act, 1951. It seeks to remove Congress chief/ president of Indian National Congress(INC) from being a permanent member of the Jallianwala Bagh memorial trust which was established in Amritsar, Punjab in 1951.

2.    “Road Accidents in India-2018”
ü Uttar Pradesh (UP) ranked the highest position in terms of deaths due to road accidents. In 2018, 22,256 people lost their lives in the state where 42,568 road accidents were reported.It is followed by Maharashtra ,where 13,261 people lost their lives due to road accidents in 2018.

3.    6th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus 2019
ü ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) was held in Bangkok, Thailand on November 18, 2019.  Defence Minister of India Shri Rajnath Singh along with 17 other defence ministers of the ADMM-Plus countries participated in the meeting.

1.    Maritime exercise Za’ir-Al-Bahr 2019
ü Joint bilateral maritime exercise “Za’ir-Al-Bahr” (Roar of the Sea) between the Qatari Emiri Navy and Indian Naval force of Qatar and India respectively began in Doha, Qatar

2.    NCRB releases Farmers Suicide figures
ü National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) ,an Indian government agency responsible for collecting and analysing crime data, has released the 2016 report called “accidental deaths and suicides in India” with reference to farmers’ suicides.
ü Maharashtra accounted for almost 40 % of all farmer suicides in the country in 2016 with 3,661.

3.    IMD World Talent Ranking Report 2019
ü International Institute of Management Development’s (IMDWorld Talent Ranking (WTR) report for the year 2019 was released. In the released report, India was ranked at 59th position, a slip by 6 places on a global annual list of 63 countries. The list was topped by Switzerland.

ü Indian Army has conducted its second phase of the exercise named Sindu Sudarshan-VII in Jaisalmer-Barmer deserts of Rajasthan.

2.    SAANS campaign to curb pneumonia deaths
ü Dr. Harsh Vardhan launched “SAANS” campaign in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.SAANS which is in short of ‘Social Awareness and Action to Neutralise Pneumonia Successfully‘ was launched with the aim of reducing child mortality due to pneumonia. It aims to mobilise people to protect children from the disease and to train health personnel and other stakeholders in controlling the disease.

3.    Bharatiya Poshan Krishi Kosh (BPKK)
ü Smriti Zubin Irani has announced the Bharatiya Poshan Krishi Kosh (BPKK), a repository of a variety of crops across 128 agro-climatic zones for better nutritional outcomes in New Delhi. MoWCD has collaborated with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for this project.

4.    Indian govt. extended Visa-on-arrival facility to UAE citizens

5.    Water Quality Report 2019
ü Ram Vilas Paswan has released BIS’s  (Bureau of Indian Standards) Water Quality Report 2019 for State Capitals & Delhi.
ü Mumbai ranked number 1 in this report. Hyderabad (Telangana) is at number two and it was followed by Bhubaneswar,Odisha (3rd ). Delhi’s water is the worst as all the 11samples drawn from various places did not comply with the requirements .

1.    Sisseri River bridge in Arunachal Pradesh
ü Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Sisseri River bridge at Lower Dibang Valley in Arunachal Pradesh. This 200-metre long bridge which connects Dibang Valley and Siang district, was built by Project Brahmank of the Border Roads Organisation(BRO).

2.    CBI Special unit to tackle Child Porn
ü Online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (OCSAE) Prevention and Investigation Unit started by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in New Delhi under the special crime zone to control the exploitation of child porn on the Internet.

ü According to the report ‘Trace Bribery Risk Matrix 2019’, India has ranked 78th among 200 countries. Bangladesh ranked 178th and became highest bribery risk country among South Asian countries. New Zealand tops in least risk and Somalia became top risk country among 200 countries.

2.    PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Brazil
ü PM Narendra Modi, paid a two-day visit to Brazil to attend the 11th annual BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit. The theme of the summit was “Economic growth for an innovative future.”
ü Brazilian president Jair Messias Bolsonaro accepted Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi’s invite to attend the 2020 Republic Day as chief guest.

1.    SCO’s Heads of government council meet 2020 
ü Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation(SCO) Vladimir Norov, announced that India would host the 19th council of heads of government in 2020. The meeting will be organized in New Delhi. This is the first time India will be hosting the meeting after its admission into SCO as a member in 2017.

2.    President’s rule enforced in Maharashtra
ü President Ram nath kovind approves Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s recommendation on deadlock of govt formation.
ü Article 356 of the Constitution provides for the imposition of President’s Rule in a state in “case of failure of the constitutional machinery in the state”.

3.    Ayodhya verdict: Disputed land allocated for temple
ü Supreme Court  gave its final judgment on the long disputed Ayodhya case to construct a Ram temple at Ayodhya site in Uttar Pradesh. It has also directed the centre to allocate a separate land of 5 acres for the Sunni Waqf Board for building a Mosque.
ü The 5-member SC constitution bench, comprised of justices Sharad Arvind Bobde, Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan, Abdul Nazeer and Ranjan Gogoi (head).
