1. NAMAMI GANGE GETS APPROVED WITH GLOBAL RECOGNITION AT GLOBAL WATER SUMMIT
The National Mission for Clean Ganga was awarded the distinction of “Public Water Agency of the Year” by Global Water Intelligence at the Global Water Summit in London. The Global Water Awards are presented at the Global Water Summit, the major business conference for the water industry worldwide.

2. FIRST-EVER GLOBAL COALITION LAUNCHED FOR CLEAN COOLING
The 1st ever of global coalition on clean and efficient cooling was launched at First Global Conference on Synergies between the 2030 Agenda and Paris Agreement in Copenhagen, Denmark.
This coalition is aim to identify solutions and mobilise action to accelerate progress towards clean and efficient cooling.

3. THE INDIAN GOVERNMENT CLEARS ATTAINMENT OF 464 RUSSIAN TANKS UNDER THE T-90 PROJECT
The Cabinet Commitee of Security has cleared the procurement of 464 Russian tanks under T-90 project in a deal worth over Rs 13,500 crore.
The tanks would be given to the Armoured Corps of the force which will be furthered used by them for deployment along the India-Pakistan border.
The new deal would increase the number of T-90s in the Army to 2,000 along with the remaining T-72 and T-55s. The acquisition also includes a Make-in-India element for integration at the Heavy Vehicles Factory in Avadi (near Chennai).

4. ‘DOST EDUCATION’, INDIA’S EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY STARTUP WON GLOBAL TECH PRIZE
India’s education technology startup ‘Dost Education’ won a $25,000 tech prize along with two other winners from Tanzania and Egypt. The Next Billion Edtech Prize 2019, run by UK-based Varkey Foundation, recognizes the most innovative technology destined to have a radical impact on education in low income and emerging world countries.

5. RIO PARALYMPICS SILVER MEDALIST DEEPA MALIK HONOURED WITH NEW ZEALAND PRIME MINISTER’S SIR EDMUND HILLARY FELLOWSHIP FOR 2019
The 48-year-old, Rio Paralympics silver medalist Deepa Malik has been honoured with the New Zealand Prime Minister’s Sir Edmund Hillary Fellowship for 2019 in recognition of her “inspiring achievements”.
She became the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Paralympic Games and the first Indian women to win medals in three consecutive Asian Para Games in 2010, 2014 and 2018.

6. SHIV DAS MEENA TO BE DESIGNATED AS THE CHAIRMAN CUM MANAGING DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL BUILDINGS CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Shiv Das Meena has been appointed as the Chairman cum Managing Director of National Buildings Construction Corporation.
Shiv Das Meena, an Indian Administrative Service officer of Tamil Nadu cadre of 1989-Batch, will succeed Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal.

7. THE M3 VERSION OF EVMS TO BE USED IN NIZAMABAD LOK SABHA AND LIKELY TO ENTER GUINNESS BOOK WITH RECORD EVMS
The Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency in Telangana may enter in the Guinness World Records for the maximum number of Electronic Voting Machines of M3 version used in the polling booth.
This new version of EVMs was developed by the Electronics Corp of India Ltd and Bharat Electronics Ltd. The Nizamabad constituency has a little over 15.53 lakh voters including 3.73 lakh farmers.
