1.    Indian International Science Festival
ü 5th edition of the Indian International Science Festival (IISF) in Kolkata, West Bengal.The theme for 2019 is “RISEN India – Research, Innovation, and Science Empowering the Nation”.
2.    UN Climate Action Summit 2019
ü United Nations Climate Action Summit 2019 was held in the UN Headquarters in New York, United States in order to meet the urgent need to address climate change; to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement and to galvanize action that can limit climate change to 2°C and even to 1.5°C. Luis Alfonso de Alba was the Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the 2019 Climate Action Summit.
ü The theme of this summit was “Climate Action Summit 2019: A Race We Can Win. A Race We Must Win”.


3.    Global Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure
ü PM Modi launched a global Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) which aims to achieve the objectives of sustainable development goals (SDGs) at UN Headquarters.
ü It will uphold the UN Agenda 2030 principle.
4.    Vaccine Hero Award 2019
ü Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina was conferred with ‘Vaccine Hero’ award 2019 for her role in eliminating polio, cholera and various communicable diseases at a ceremony at the UN Headquarters
ü She received the award from Global Alliance for Vaccination and Immunisations (GAVI) Board Chair Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
5.    UN 77 countries vow carbon neutrality by 2050
ü UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres notified that 77 countries vowed to achieve net zero carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 2050.
ü The UN estimates that the world needs to increase its current efforts five-fold to contain climate change to the levels dictated by science – a rise of 1.5 degrees Celsius by the year 2100 to avoid escalating climate damage.
6.     “Malabar 2019”
ü 23rd edition of the trilateral maritime exercise of India, Japan and the United States(US) named “Malabar 2019” exercise begun at Sasebo, Japan.
7.    IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2019
ü Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) emerged as the richest person in India with a wealth of Rs 3.8 lakh crore for the eighth straight year.
ü London based SP Hinduja and family (Rs 1.86 lakh crore), Wipro founder Azim Premji (Rs 1.17 lakh crore), LN Mittal, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ArcelorMittal (Rs 1.07 lakh crore) secured the second, third and fourth positions respectively.
8.    2019 Right Livelihood Award
ü Swedish teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg (16), has been awarded with Sweden’s Alternative Nobel Prize called “Right Livelihood Award 2019” for prompting scientific facts for immediate climate action in Stockholm, Sweden.
Greta Thunberg is best known for initiating a movement, “Fridays for Future”, a climate movement that formed in November 2018.
9.    2019 SASTRA Ramanujan prize
ü Adam Harper from UK won the SASTRA Ramanujan prize for 2019He will be awarded with a citation and an award of $10,000. The award is given to people under the age of 32 working in the area influenced by mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
10. Dadasaheb Phalke award2019
ü Amitabh Bachchan was selected for the 2019 Dadasaheb Phalke award which is the highest award in Indian cinema. He will be presented with a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) medallion, a shawl and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh during the award presentation.
ü First awarded year-  1969.
11. Pooja Desai from Vadodara, Gujarat has been crowned as Mrs India – Pride of the Nation 2019.

12. Sebastian Coe re-appointed as IAAF
ü Britain’s Sebastian Coe was re-elected as the chief of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) for a second term.
ü IAAF headquarters- Monaco.
13. Women’s National Football Championship2019
ü Manipur won the 25th Senior Women’s National Football Championship held at CHF Ground in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh by defeating Railways.
14. Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship
ü Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship 2019 was held in Tehran, Iran.
The host nation, Iran emerged as champions by defeating Australia in straight sets.

15. Antyodaya Diwas-September 25
ü To commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, a noted philosopher, historian, and political activist. Antyodaya means uplifting of the weakest section of the society.
