1.       MSMES WILL GET AN ADDITIONAL 1 PERCENT INCENTIVE IN THE FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD YEARS.

·         The incentive is part of the PLI scheme has been proposed in the Union Budget 2022-23.

·         The design-led manufacturing scheme requires an investment threshold of Rs 10 crores for MSMEs and Rs 100 crores for non-MSMEs, excluding land and building cost.

·         Applicants can avail incentives for five years commencing from April 1, 2022 up to FY 2025-26.

·         It Removes the condition of 15% cap on investment to be made for research and development.

·         The incentives will be given from the Rs 4,000 crore which is left out from total outlay.

 

2.       SEBI FORMS HYBRID SECURITIES ADVISORY COMMITTEE (HYSAC)

·         The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), India’s market regulator, has established a 20-member Hybrid Securities Advisory Committee (HySAC), which will make recommendations for boosting the growth of such instruments, including measures focusing on ease of issuance and attracting domestic & global capital.

·         KV Kamath, the Chairperson of the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development, will chair the committee.

 

3.       VIVA TECHNOLOGY 2022 EVENT IN PARIS, FRANCE

·         Union Communication Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw represented India at Europe’s largest start-up conference, Viva Technology 2022, in Paris, France, where he announced that UPI and RuPay card services will be available in France soon as a result of the MoU between NIPL, India, and Lyra Network of France.

·         India has been recognized as the ‘country of the year’ at Viva Technology 2022.

·         He also inaugurated the India pavilion, which is hosting 65 Indian start-ups, a significant step toward “digital payments inclusion” as “India’s UPI goes global.”

 

4.       RAHUL SRIVATSHAV BECOMES INDIA’S 74TH GRANDMASTER

·         The 19-year-old Rahul Srivatshav P of Telangana has become India’s 74th Grandmaster (GM) after breaking the 2500 (Elo points) barrier in live International Chess Federation (FIDE) ratings during the 9th Cattolica Chess Festival 2022 in Italy.

·         Viswanathan Anand became India’s 1st GM in 1988.

5.       ASIAN JUNIOR SQUASH

·         Indian player Anahat Singh, 14-year-old, won the gold medal in the girls Under-15 category at the 29th Asian Junior Squash Individual Championships defeating Kwong Ena of Hong Kong 3-0 in the final.

·         The tournament was held in Pattaya, Thailand.

 

6.       WORLD MUSIC DAY 2022 – JUNE 21

·         World Music Day is annually celebrated across the globe on 21st June to encourage young and talented musicians across the globe.

·         The theme of World Music Day 2022 is “Music on the intersections”.

 

7.       INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA 2022 – JUNE 21 

·         The United Nations (UN)’s International Day of Yoga(IDY) is annually observed across the globe on 21st June to create awareness about the importance of Yoga and promote the benefits of practising yoga.

·         The theme of International Day of Yoga 2022 is “Yoga for Humanity”.

·         The United Nations General Assembly(UNGA) adopted the resolution A/RES/69/131 on 11th December 2014 and proclaimed the 21st June of every year as the International Day of Yoga.

·         The first ever International Day of Yoga was observed at the United Nations on 21st June 2015. 

·         Prime Minister(PM) Narendra Modi participated in the Mass yoga Demonstration at Mysore Palace ground, Mysuru, Karnataka.

·         As a part of the 8th International Day of Yoga, the government of India has envisaged a unique, one of a king and innovative programme “The Guardian Ring” to celebrate the movement of the Sun, underlining the concept of ‘One Sun, One Earth’.

 

8.       PM NARENDRA MODI VISITED BENGALURU TO INAUGURATE VARIOUS PROJECTS

·         The PM Dedicated to the Nation, India’s first Air Conditioned Railway Station – Sir M Visvesvaraya Railway Station at Baiyappanahalli, which is developed on the lines of a modern airport at a total cost of around Rs 315 crore.

·         He inaugurated the Centre for Brain Research (CBR) in Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru,  which is one of its kind research facility and focuses on conducting vital research to manage age-related brain disorders.

 

9.       GUJARAT BECOMES INDIA’S 1ST STATE TO LAUNCH BALIKA PANCHAYAT

·         Gujarat has become India’s first–ever State to launch Balika Panchayat (girl Panchayat) to promote the social and political development of girl children and to eliminate the evil practices, such as child marriage and the dowry system, from society.

·         Aim is to address the female adolescent issues, of the girls, by the girls, for the girls and to develop leadership qualities in the girls for future panchayat polls.

·         Balika Panchayat initiative has been started in Kunaria, Maska, Motagua, and Vadsar villages of Kutch district of Gujarat.

·         The members of BalikaPanchayat are nominated just like Gram Panchayat.

·         The contestants were young females aged between 10 and 21 years.

·         The first-ever elections of Balika Panchayat elections were successfully held at Kunariya village (Kutch, Gujarat). 

·         Urmi Ahir (20 years) was named as the sarpanch of the Balika Panchayat started in Kutch.

 

10.    GOLD RECYCLING WITH REFINING REPORT

·         According to the World Gold Council (WGC) report titled ‘Gold refining and recycling,’ India has ranked 4th in global gold recycling in 2021 recycling 75 tons, or 6.5 per cent of the total gold recycled across the globe.

·         The report estimates that between 2013 and 2021, India’s gold refining capacity has increased by 1500 tonnes (500%) to 1800 tonnes.
China tops the global gold recycling in 2021 as it recycled 168 tonnes of gold, followed by Italy with 80 tonnes and the United States of America(USA) at 3rd with 78 tonnes.

11.    PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF INDIA TO THE UN

·         Senior diplomat Ruchira Kamboj appointed as India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) in New York.

·         She is the 1st female Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bhutan and will succeed T S Tirumurti as the Indian ambassador to the UN.

·         UN Secretary General – Antonio Guterres,Headquarters – New york, United states (US),Member states – 193 .

 

12.    SOUTH KOREA LAUNCHES ITS 1ST HOMEGROWN ROCKET – NURI

·         South Korea launched its first indigenously built space rocket – Korea Satellite Launch Vehicle (KSLV) II, called as “Nuri”, from Naro Space Center at a launch site in Goheung, Jeollanam-do Province, South Korea.

·         In Korean, the word Nuri means ‘world’.

·         With this launch, South Korea has become the World’s 10th nation to place a satellite into space with its own technology.

·         South Korea has also become the 7th country to develop a space launch vehicle that can carry a satellite weighing more than 1 ton, after Russia, the United States(US), France, China, Japan and India.

 

13.    KUORTANE GAMES 2022, FINLAND

·         Indian javelin ace and Olympic Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra has won the gold medal by winning the Javelin throw event (86.69 meters) at the Kuortane Games 2022 in Kuortane, Finland.

·         He won the gold defeating reigning world champion Anderson Peters of Grenada.

·         Keshorn Walcott (86.64 meters), champion of Trinidad and Tobago’s 2012 Olympics secured 2nd place.

 

14.    UN’S FIRST INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR COUNTERING HATE SPEECH – 18TH JUNE 2022

·         The United Nations(UN) observed the first-ever annual International Day for Countering Hate Speech on 18th June 2022.

·         The day aims to highlight the exponential spread and proliferation of hate speech across the globe.
