1. WOMEN’S
TEST AT LORD
·
The Indian Women’s Cricket Team,
led by Harmanpreet Kaur, defeated England by 270
runs in the first-ever Women’s Test at Lord’s
Cricket Ground, London, successfully defending a target of 457 runs, marking
India’s second-largest win by runs in Women’s Tests
and the fourth-largest overall.

Yastika Bhatia (113)
became the first woman to score a Test
century at Lord’s.
2. ICC
HALL OF FAME LIST
·
The International Cricket Council (ICC)
inducted former Indian women’s
cricket captain Anjum Chopra and former England
captain Kevin Pietersen into the ICC
Hall of Fame during its Annual Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland.
·
Anjum
Chopra became the 3rd Indian woman after Diana
Edulji and Neetu David, and the 13th Indian overall
to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, taking the total number of inductees
to 125.
·
The
Government of India (GoI) awarded the Padma Shri, India’s
fourth-highest civilian award, to Anjum Chopra in 2014 for
her contributions to the field of Sports (Cricket).
3. 56TH
INTERNATIONAL PHYSICS OLYMPIAD 2026
·
India recorded
its best-ever performance at the 56th International Physics
Olympiad (IPhO 2026), held in Bucaramanga, Colombia, with all five Indian
participants winning gold medals.
·
India secured joint first place in
the overall medal tally alongside
Russia, China, Kazakhstan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
·
IPhO Established
in 1967, the IPhO is an annual international competition.
4. ASIAN
U23 ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026
·
The 2026 Asian Under-23 (U23)
Athletics Championships, the inaugural
edition of the international athletics competition, held at the Ordos
Sports Development Center Stadium in Ordos, China.
·
India
concluded its campaign with 16 medals comprising 3
gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze, finishing fourth in
the overall standings.
·
China topped
the medal table with 23 gold, 17 silver, and 12 bronze medals (52
total), followed by Japan with 7 gold, 8
silver, and 7 bronze medals (22 total), and Uzbekistan with
5 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze medal (10 total).
5. WOMEN’S
T20I DEAF CRICKET SERIES
·
The Indian Deaf Women’s Cricket Team won
the first-ever Women’s Twenty20 series 2026,
defeating Sri Lanka Deaf Women’s Cricket Team 5–0 at
the De Soysa International Cricket Stadium in
Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
·
The series marked the first overseas
assignment of the Indian Deaf Women’s Cricket Team under the Indian Deaf
Cricket Association (IDCA).
·
Indian Reddy Jyoshna adjudged
Player of the Series.
·
Indian Deaf Cricket
Association (IDCA) established in 2020 and headquartered
in New Delhi.
6. ASIAN
U-19 & U-23 BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026
·
The Asian Under-19 (U-19) &
U-23 Boxing Championships 2026, inaugural edition of the combined
boxing tournament, held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
·
India’s boxers
secured 29-medal haul with 5 gold, 13 silver, and 11 bronze medals, to finish third in the overall medal standings.
·
Uzbekistan topped
the medal table with 33 medals (21 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze and Kazakhstan finished
second with 30 medals (11 gold, 11 silver and 8
bronze).
7. NEW
FORMATS FOR MEN’S ODI AND T20 WORLD CUPS
·
The International Cricket Council (ICC) approved
major format changes to the ICC Men’s One Day
International (ODI) World Cup and the ICC
Men’s T20 World Cup, introducing a Super 7 round-robin stage in the 14-team ODI World Cup and a Super
10 stage with Eliminators
in the 20-team T20 World Cup, during its annual Board meetings held in
Edinburgh, Scotland.
·
From 2027 onwards, ICC Men’s ODI World Cup will follow a four-stage format comprising a Preliminary
Round (featuring the 12th- to 14th-ranked teams), two groups of six teams,
a Super 7 replacing the Super Six,
and the knockout stage, with the top
three teams from each group and the best
fourth-placed team advancing, increasing the total matches from 48 to 57.
·
ICC
Men’s T20 World Cup will begin with five groups of four teams, followed by a Super 10 replacing the Super 8, with the top two teams from each
group advancing, Eliminators determining
the remaining semi-finalists, and the second
stage expanding from 8 to 10 teams to enhance competitiveness and reduce
dead-rubber matches.

Indian Air Force (IAF) Group
Captain Shubhanshu Shukla launched his debut book, ‘The
Second Orbit: Belief of a Man… Dreams of 1.4 Billion Hearts’, in
Bengaluru, Karnataka.
·
Shubhanshu Shukla as
the pilot of Axiom Mission 4, he
spent 18 days aboard the International
Space Station (ISS), conducted seven Indian scientific experiments, and
gained experience supporting India’s
Gaganyaan programme.
9. WORLD
POPULATION DAY 2026 – JULY 11
·
The United Nations (UN’s) World
Population Day is annually observed across the globe on July
11.
·
2026 Theme: “Realizing the hopes and aspirations of
young people – today and for the future.”
·
World Population Day was established in 1989 by the then Governing Council of the United
Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
·
The
first World Population Day was observed on July 11, 1990, in more than 90 countries.
10. INTERNATIONAL
MALALA DAY 2026 – JULY 12
·
International Malala Day is
observed annually across the world on 12 July to commemorate
the birth anniversary of Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Prize laureate, and promotes
girls’ education and the right to education for all worldwide.
·
On 12 July
2013, her 16th birthday, Malala Yousafzai delivered her first address at
the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York.
·
The United Nations (UN) officially
declared 12 July as Malala Day,
first observed internationally in 2013.
11. WORLD
YOUTH SKILLS DAY 2026 – JULY 15
·
The United Nations (UN) annually
observes World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) on 15
July.
·
2026 Theme: “Skills for a Shared Future”.
·
The first World Youth Skills
Day was observed on 15 July 2015.
12. MSME
MANDATES TREDS FOR SETTLEMENT OF ALL MSME INVOICES
·
The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises (MSME) mandated all operating Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) invoices for goods and services procured from MSMEs through Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS) platforms
authorised by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
·
CPSEs
now required to disclose details of MSME invoices routed and
settled through TReDS and obtain a statutory auditor’s certificate of TReDS
registration and compliance during their annual audit and facilitate MSMEs’
access to collateral-free working capital by enabling invoice discounting
before the payment due date.
·
TReDS: It
is an RBI-authorized digital platform,
operational since 2017, has been designed to facilitate financing and
discounting the trade receivables of MSMEs due from corporate buyers,
government departments and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), through
competitive bidding by multiple financiers.
·
At present, five platforms are operational, including Receivable Exchange of India
Limited (RXIL), M1xchange, Invoicemart, C2treds and Domestic Trade Exchange
(DTX).
13. RBI
LAUNCHED THREE KEY SURVEYS
·
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) launched
the Inflation Expectations Survey of Households (IESH),
Rural Consumer Confidence Survey (RCCS), and Urban
Consumer Confidence Survey (UCCS) to gather household
feedback on inflation, economic conditions, employment, income,
and spending across 19 cities and 31
States/Union Territories (UTs).
·
IESH: It
was Conducted across 19 cities captures household assessments of price
movements based on individual consumption baskets through qualitative responses
on general and product-specific price changes over the next three
months and one year, along with quantitative estimates of current,
three-month-ahead, and one-year-ahead inflation.
·
RCCS: It
collects household perceptions and one-year-ahead expectations on the general
economic situation, employment scenario, overall price situation, household
income, and spending across rural and semi-urban areas in 31 States and UTs.
·
UCCS: It
is conducted across 19 cities to gather qualitative responses from households
on the general economic situation, employment scenario, price levels, household
income, and spending for the current period and one year ahead.
