A subsidiary of NABARD (The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development), Nabventures notified its first time funding termed ‘NABVENTURES Fund I‘ which is a Rs 700-crore venture capital fund for equity investments to provide support for agriculture, food and rural start-ups (which would help improve rural livelihoods).

1. FACEBOOK HAS SELECTED LONDON AS THE CENTER TO DEVELOP WHATSAPP’S MOBILE PAYMENT SERVICE
CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg has confirmed that it has selected London to be the center to launch WhatsApp Pay. The reason to choose London than US City is  because WhatsApp is widely used in UK and London is considered as a Hub for Fintech.
WhatsApp has 1.5 billion users globally, out of which, more than 200 million users are in India.

2. INDIAN ACTRESS DIA MIRZA APPOINTED UN ADVOCATES FOR SDGS
The United Nations Secretary–General Antonio Guterres has appointed 17 new advocates to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. These include the Indian actress Dia Mirza and the Chief of Alibaba Group, Jack Ma.

In a survey conducted by Air Help, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport of Hyderabad has been ranked as the world’s 8th Best Airport.
Qatar Airways topped the list. Best Airports of 2019 is Hamad International Airport, Qatar.

2. BANK CREDIT UP BY 13.24% AND DEPOSIT UP BY 10.03% IN FY19
According to Reserve Bank of India data, the bank credit grew by 13.24 percent in financial year 2019 (FY19) to Rs 97.67 lakh crore as compared to 10.3 percent in FY18 and the deposits up by 10.03 percent in FY19 to Rs 125.72 lakh crore as compare to 6.7 percent in FY18.

1. FINLAND HELD THE 11TH ARCTIC COUNCIL MINISTERIAL MEETING IN ROVANIEMI
Finland held the 11th Arctic Council Ministerial Meeting in Lappi Areena, Rovaniemi, Finland.
Arctic States concluded the Arctic Council Ministerial meeting by signing a joint agreement as the Arctic Council Ministers meet, passed the Chairmanship from Finland to Iceland. International Maritime Organization was authorized as a new Observer.
India was re-elected as an Observer to Arctic Council and India committed to contribute more to Arctic Council.

2. MAX LIFE INSURANCE CO LTD DEDICATED THE 6TH DAY OF EACH MONTH AS ‘PROTECTION DAY’
Max Life Insurance Co Ltd has notified that it will commemorate the 6th day of each month as ‘Protection Day’.
The objective of this initiative was to raise awareness on financial protection.
The Company will also start an initiative called the “Super Customer Week“, in which the customers will be taught about the different facets of financial protection.
