Ø  Eminent Marathi Litterateur Balchandra Namade wins the Jnanpith award for 2014.
Ø  He has written many famous novels from ‘Kosala’ , 1963 to his recent magnum opus ‘ Hindu’.
Ø  Namade is the fourth Marathi to win the award. He has also been honored with Padma Shri and won Sahitya Akadmi award in the past.

8) M O GARG TAKES CHARGE AS NEW DIRECTOR GENERAL OF CSIR
Ø  M O Garg has been appointed as the Director General of the council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR).
Ø  He replaces PS Ahuja.
Ø  MO Garg has 33 national and International patents to his credit.
