1. RELIANCE DEFENCE AND ISRAEL’S RAFAEL TO SET UP MISSILE, AIR DEFENCE JV
i. Reliance Defence has inked a pact with Israel's Rafael Advanced Defence System.
ii. The pact will help India for specialised areas including air- to-air missiles that will oversee projects worth USD 10 billion in ten years.
iii. Joint venture company will be located at Pithampur, Indore in Madhya Pradesh.
iv. The project will have an initial capital outlay of more than Rs 1,300 crore.

2. P SUSHEELA MOHAN ENTERS INTO GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS
i. Renowned playback singer P Susheela Mohan has been recognized by the Guinness World Records and Asia Book of Records.
ii. She is known for singing the most number of songs in Indian languages.
iii. She singed 17,695 songs in 12 Indian languages.

3. PM NARENDRA MODI UNVEILS ASIA’S LARGEST OPTICAL TELESCOPE ARIES AT NAINITAL
i. Asia’s largest and first of its kind optical telescope Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences was unveiled at Devasthal in Nainital District, Uttrakahnd.
ii. It was remotely activated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Belgian Pm Charles Michel
iii. Aries telescope was joint collaborative technological effort between Indian and Belgian scientists.
iv. It will help in the study and exploration of planets, starts, magnetic field and astronomical debris.

4. 13TH INDIA-EU SUMMIT HELD IN BRUSSELS
i. The 13th India and European Union Summit was held on 30 March 2016 in Brussels, Belgium.
ii. In the summit India was represented by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
iii. The European Union was represented by Donald Tusk at the 13th India-EU Summit
iv. The main issues discussed are:
a.    The leaders endorsed the EU-India Agenda for Action 2020 a concrete road-map for the EU-India Strategic Partnership for the next five years.
b.   The European Investment Bank agreed to extend 450 million Euros in loan for the construction of the first metro line in Lucknow.
c.    The EIB gave its nod to set up the Bank’s regional representation for South Asia in New Delhi.
d.   India-EU Water Partnership  to enhance cooperation on environment issues, including on the ‘Clean India' and ‘Clean Ganga’ flagship programmes.

5. EIB ANNOUNCED LOAN OF 33 BILLION RUPEES FOR LUCKNOW METRO
i. European Investment Bank  announced that it will invest 33 billion rupees  for the first metro line in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
ii. This investment will be EIB’s largest ever financing in India.
iii. European Investment Bank is the European Union's bank owned by and representing the interests of the European Union Member States.

6. ADB LOWERS INDIA’S GROWTH FORECAST TO 7.4 % FOR 2016-17
i. The Asian Development Bank has lowered India’s growth forecast to 7.4% from an earlier estimate of 7.6% for the current financial year.
ii. This is mainly due to the failure of the government to push through the Goods and Services Tax and the Land and Labour Reforms.
iii. It also forecasted India is one of the fastest growing large economies in the world

iv. It also Forecasted India’s gross domestic product will grow to 7.8% for the fiscal year to March 2018.
