1.      FRENCH PRESIDENT EMMANUEL MACRON’S INDIA VISIT
i. France is the 9th largest foreign investor in India with a cumulative investment of $6.09 billion as on October 2017.
ii.Indian and French companies and government entities signed deals worth 13 billion Euros across areas like aviation, renewable energy and waste management.
iv. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron inaugurated Uttar Pradesh’s biggest solar power plant in Mirzapur district.


2.      DELHI END TB SUMMIT, PM MODI LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN TO ERADICATE TB FROM INDIA BY 2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘End TB Summit’ in New Delhi
He also launched ‘Tuberculosis Free India Campaign’.
Tuberculosis  is a contagious disease which affects the lung and is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis .Cough, fever, weight loss and night sweats are typical symptoms of TB
 TB was responsible for 1.7 million deaths in 2016, despite most cases being curable.
‘TB-free India campaign’ has been launched to take forward, the activities under the National Strategic Plan for TB Elimination, in a mission mode for eradicating the disease by 2025.

3.      SUZLON COMMISSIONS INDIA’S LARGEST WIND TURBINE GENERATOR
Suzlon Energy announced the installation and commissioning of S128, claimed to be the largest wind turbine generator  in India.
i. The first prototype of S128 has been commissioned at Sanganeri, in Tamil Nadu.
ii. The S128 WTG is available in 2.6 MW to 2.8 MW variants. It offers hub heights up to 140 meters.
iii. Suzlon Energy also claims that the wind mill also consists of India’s largest rotor blade of size 63 m with a rotor diameter of 128 m.
Chennai tops in fixed broadband speed in India
i. According to a study titled ‘India’s digital divide: how broadband speed splits the nation’ by Ookla, Chennai .
chenni has topped the list and has been followed by Bengaluru            and Hyderabad.
ii.India ranked 67th in the world on Speedtest Global.

4.      PUNE TOPS QUALITY OF GOVERNANCE SURVEY
i. As per fifth edition of the Annual Survey of India’s City-Systems  for Citizenship and Democracy, Pune is the top city to show improvement in quality of governance in 2017.
ii. Pune topped the list with an overall score f 5.1 out of 10 
ASICS measures the preparedness of city administration to deliver high quality standards, political leadership at the city level, municipal finance & staffing, and transparency & citizen participation.
The 89 questions in the survey were placed under four broad categories viz. urban planning & design, transparency – accountability – participation, urban capacities & resources and empowered & legitimate political representation.

5.      WORLD HAPPINESS REPORT 2018 INDIA RANKS 133RD
i. India has ranked 133rd out of 156 countries in the World Happiness Report 2018.
ii. World Happiness report is an annual report published by the U.N. Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
iii.GDP Per Capita, Social Support, Healthy Life Expectancy at birth, Freedom to make life choices, Generosity and Perceptions of corruption are considered during calculating if index
Finland has not only topped the list of 156 countries having the happiest population in general, but has also topped the ranking for happiest immigrants.
