1. INDIA TO CHAIR 9TH MEETING OF IRENA COUNCIL:
.    India is designated to chair the 9th meeting of International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) council.
.    IRENA council will held for 2 days in UAE’s capital, Abu Dhabi.
. India will chair 21 member council which will guide the agencies future programmes.

2.   INDIA AND FRANCE SIGNED 17 AGREEMENTS:
. 17 agreements are signed between India and France during Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit.
.    Agreements were signed in Paris between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Francois Hollande.
. Agreements were signed between both nations in the fields of economy, energy, culture, tourism, conservation, ayurveda, skill development and science and technology.

3.   AN ASTROID NAMED AFTER MALALA YOUSAFZAI:
.    An Astroid 316201 is named after youngest noble prize winner Malala Yousafazai.
.    Amy Mainzer, An Astronomer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion laboratory in California, USA discovered the asteroid 326201 in 2010 and had owned the right to name it.
. Astroid 316201 Malala is located between Mars and Jupiter.

4. B H SINGANIA BECAME THE PRESIDENT OF JK ORGANISATION:
. Bharat Hari Singhania became the president of 125 year old JK Organisation.
. Bharat Hari Singhania succeeded Gaur Hari Singhania who recently passed away.
. J K organization is a group of companies (cement. Tyre, paper, Software) which was founded in 1918 with its headquarter at New Delhi.

5. ARUN KUMAR JHAH APPOINTED CEO OF KVIC:
.    Arun Kumar Jha is appointed as the CEO of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).
. The decision was taken by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) of the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
. Arun Kumar Jha is a 1985 batch Indian Economics service (IES) officer.
Note: KVIC functions under Union Ministry of MSME.

6.   PRESIDENT INAUGURATED SONGS AND DANCES OF NORTHEAST EVENT IN NEW DELHI:
. President of India, Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the first ever event of songs and dances of northeast in new Delhi.
. The event is organized by Government of Meghalaya and sponsored by the North Eastern Council. (NES)
. The day long event is to showcase the culture of India Northeast region and highlight the immense Contribution made by the people of the region in nation building.

7.   JITU RAI WINS BRONZE:
. Indian Shooter Jitu Rai wins Bronze at ISSF World Cup.
. Jitu Rai won medal in the 10 m air pistol event at International shooting sport Federation (ISSF).
. ISSF World Cup held in Changwon, South Korea.

8.   LEWIS HAMILTON WON CHINESE GRAND PRIX:
. Mercedes formula one driver Lewis Hamilton won Chinese Grand Prix of formula one.
. This was his second win of the season and fourth Chinese grand prix.

. This was Lewis Hamilton’s overall 35th Grand Prix Win.
