KAILASH SATYARTHI’S ‘100 MILLION FOR 100 MILLION’ CAMPAIGN
i. President Pranab Mukherjee has launched the '100 Million for 100 Million
Campaign' organised by The Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation.
ii. The Campaign aims at mobilizing 100 million youth and children for
the upliftment of 100 million underprivileged children across the world.

GENTILONI SWORN-IN AS ITALY'S NEW PM
i. Paolo Gentiloni has been elected as Italy's new Prime Minister.
ii. Gentiloni, who served as the Foreign Minister under Renzi, was asked
by President Sergio Mattarella to form a new centre-left government that will
guide Italy to elections due by February 2018.

i. Internet and Mobile Association of India has constituted a committee
to fight against the problem of online piracy and develop suitable business
standards.

WORLD'S LONGEST TUNNEL OPENS IN SWITZERLAND
i. The world’s longest tunnel, Gotthard Base Tunnel in Switzerland was opened
for regular rail services.
ii. It will carry passengers under the Swiss Alps from Zurich to Lugano.

LAUNCHES ADVANCED WEATHER SATELLITE FENGYUN-4
i. China has take off the first of its new generation weather satellites
Fengyun-4.
ii. The New technology on the satellite will improve the accuracy of
weather forecasts -just in time for the winter season.
iii. It was China’s First second-generation weather satellites launched
as well as the country’s first quantitative remote-sensing satellite in the
geostationary orbit.
