1.       NAGALAND BECAME FIRST STATE TO GO PAPERLESS ASSEMBLY PROCEEDING

·         The North Eastern state of Nagaland became the first legislative state assembly in India to implement paperless proceedings under National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA). 

·         TheNeVA initiative encourages paperless operations and reflects the government’s commitment towards Ashta Lakshmi.

·         National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) Is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme by Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs with the funding ratio of 90 : 10 by Centre and State respectively 

·         NeVA is a  neutral, member-centric application deployed on NIC Cloud, MeghRaj which also called as “GI Cloud”.

·         Bihar Legislative Council became the first House in the country to transit to NeVA platform completely on 25 Nov, 2021 and conducted Winter Session, 2021on the NeVA platform in paperless mode.

 

2.       INDIAN ARMY CONDUCTS JOINT SECURITY EXERCISE “SURAKSHAKAVACH 2” WITH MAHARASHTRA POLICE

·         Indian Army’s “Agnibaaz Division” organised a joint exercise “SurakshaKavach 2” with Maharashtra Police at Lullanagar, Pune. The exercise aimed to counter any terrorist actions in Pune.

 

3.       BRICS VACCINE R&D CENTRE LAUNCHED

·         Dr.MansukhMandaviya, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, launched the BRICS Vaccine Research & Development (R&D) Center and Workshop on Vaccine Cooperation through a video-conference in New Delhi, Delhi.

·         India plans to offer its robust vaccine manufacturing industry for developing vaccines for BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) countries and also the world.

·         India supplies vaccines to more than 150 countries and is home to one of the world’s largest vaccine manufacturing industries.

 

4.       EX-DUSTLIK: INDIAN-UZBEKISTAN JOINT TRAINING EXERCISE AT YANGIARIK

·         The 3rd Edition of Exercise Dustlik (Ex-Dustlik), a joint training exercise between the armies of India and Uzbekistan is being conducted at Yangiarik, Uzbekistan

·         Ex-Dustlik focus on Counter-Terrorism operations in semi-urban terrain under a United Nations(UN) Mandate.

 

5.       DELHI BECOMES MOST POLLUTED CAPITAL IN WORLD : 2021 WORLD AIR QUALITY REPORT

·         The 2021 World Air Quality Report released by the Swiss organization IQAir reveals that the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, India, is the most polluted capital in the world for the fourth consecutive year in 2021.

·         The report finds that only 3% of cities and no single country met the latest World Health Organization’s (WHO) Particulate Matter (PM) 2.5 annual air quality guidelines.

·         India was placed 5th in the Most Polluted countries in the word whereas Bangladesh was placed in 1st followed by Chad and Pakistan.

·         The only two cities that met updated WHO PM2.5 guideline were Zhezqazghan and Chu (Kazakhstan).

 

6.       2022 SPORTSTAR ACES AWARDS

·         Indian Olympian Neeraj Chopra, who won the gold medal (Javelin) at Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics was awarded the Sportstar of the Year (Male) award at the 2022 Sportstar Aces Awards held at the TajMahal Hotel in Mumbai, Maharashtra. 

·         Neeraj Chopra has also won the Sportsman Of The Year (Track And Field). 

 

7.       SERDAR BERDIMUHAMEDOW BECOMES NEW PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN

·         Serdar Berdimuhamedow was sworn in as the new President of Turkmenistan by securing nearly 72.97% of the votes and taking the oath of office at a ceremony at Rukhiyet Palace in the capital, Ashgabat.

·         Parliament of Turkmenistan – Milli Gengesh; Upper House of Parliament – Halk Maslakhaty (People’ Council).

8.       RAJESH GOPINATHAN RE-APPOINTED AS MD & CEO OF TCS

·         Rajesh Gopinathan has been reappointed as the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tata Consultancy Services(TCS)

·         TCS has also reappointed N Ganapathy Subramaniam as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Executive Director

 

9.       TENNIS PLAYER ASHLEIGH BARTY RETIRES FROM TENNIS

·         Australian professional Tennis player and Cricketer Ashleigh Barty, announced her retirement from tennis at the age of 25.

·         Barty was the only other woman who has walked away from the sport while atop the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings: Justine Henin was No. 1 when she retired in May 2008.

 

10.    DALAI LAMA & DESMOND TUTU AUTHORED CHILDREN’S BOOK ‘ THE LITTLE BOOK OF JOY’

·         A picture book edition co-authored by Nobel Peace Prize winners Dalai Lama (14th Dalai Lama(Tenzin Gyatso)) & Archbishop Desmond Tutu, titled  “The Little Book of Joy ” will be released in September 2022.

·         In 2016, they also co-authored the book titled  “The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World”

·         The 14th and current Dalai Lama’s name is Tenzin Gyatso.  He  lives as a refugee in Himachal Pradesh,India. He got the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. He was born on 6 July 1935, Taktser, Tibet (now People’s Republic of China).

 

11.    WORLD METEOROLOGICAL DAY 2022 – MARCH 23

·         The United Nations(UN)’s World Meteorological Day is annually observed across the globe on 23rd March to create awareness about the environmental condition of our planet.

·         The theme of World Meteorological Day 2022 is “Early Warning and Early Action”. 

·         About World Meteorological Organization(WMO): is dedicated to international cooperation and coordination on the state and behaviour of the Earth’s atmosphere.
