1.       BIHAR BECAME FIRST STATE TO IMPLEMENT DYNAMIC MAP FOR VILLAGES TO TRACK LAND OWNERSHIP

·         Bihar as a part of its land reforms initiative, has introduced the concept of dynamic map for villages, which will get updated every time land ownership changes hands.

·         The move is mainly aimed to curb the legal disputes regarding land.  

·         The mutation process will now pass through three stages – first, a change in the text; second, a change in the land parcel; and third, a modification of the survey map.

 

2.       PUSHKAR SINGH DHAMI SWORN IN AS 12TH CHIEF MINISTER OF UTTARAKHAND 

·         Pushkar Singh Dhami, BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) leader and son of an ex-serviceman took oath as 12th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for his second consecutive term

·         He  has to get re-elected from any of the constituencies of Uttarakhand within a period of six months post which he ceases to be a Minister (Article 164(4) of Indian Constitution).

 

3.       INDIA SUCCESSFULLY TEST FIRED THE SURFACE TO SURFACE BRAHMOS SUPERSONIC CRUISE MISSILE

·         India successfully test fired a surface-to-surface ‘BrahMos’ supersonic cruise missile extended range from Andaman and Nicobar Island.

·          This 290 Km Missile range has a top speed of Mach 2.8 nearly three times the speed of sound and missile range will be extended. 

·         The BrahMos missile, is a Medium-range Ramjet Supersonic Cruise Missile that can be launched from Submarine, Surface Warship, Aircraft or Land against surface and sea-based targets.

·         It is jointly developed by Russia’s Federal State Unitary Enterprise NPO Mashinostroyenia (NPOM) and India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

·         The name BrahMos is a portmanteau formed from the names of two rivers, the Brahmaputra of India and the Moskva of Russia.

 

4.       WORLD TUBERCULOSIS DAY 2022 – MARCH 24

·         World Tuberculosis(TB) Day is annually observed across the globe on 24th March to create awareness about the global epidemic of tuberculosis (TB) and highlight the health, social and economic consequences of TB. 

·         The theme of World TB Day 2022 is “Invest to End TB. Save Lives”.

5.       INDIA’S FIRST-EVER SAI NCOE FOR MTB AND BMX TO BE SET UP IN SHIMLA

·         The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with Department of Youth Services and Sports of Government of Himachal Pradesh, sets up India’s first-ever Sports Authority of India (SAI) National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) to train athletes in Mountain Terrain Biking (MTB) and Bicycle Motocross (BMX) in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

·         The National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) is set up with an aim to provide world-class training facilities to Indian cyclists to compete for the 18 Olympic medals in the disciplines of MTB and BMX. 

 

6.       RBIH LAUNCHED IN BENGALURU, KARNATAKA

·         The Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Shaktikanta Das, inaugurated the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH) in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

·         It has been set up as a Section 8 company under Companies Act, 2013, with an initial capital contribution of Rs 100 crore; and wholly owned subsidiary of the RBI.

·         Senapathy (Kris) Gopalakrishnan, co-founder and former co-Chairman, Infosys, was earlier appointed as RBIH 1st Chairman.

·         The RBIH will be guided and managed by a Governing Council (GC) led by a Chairman. There will be 9 other eminent persons from industry and academia as its members.

 

7.       ABEL PRIZE FOR 2022

·         The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters awarded the Abel prize for 2022 to American Mathematician Dennis Parnell Sullivan. The award was given  “For his groundbreaking contributions to topology in its broadest sense, and in particular its algebraic, geometric and dynamical aspects.”

·         The  Abel Prize is also known as the International Prize of Mathematics.

·         Topology is a field of mathematics. which was born in the nineteenth century and it deals with properties of surfaces that do not change when they are deformed. 

·         Abel Prize is the highest honor given in the field of Mathematics.Abel Prize is a top honour in mathematics, being similar to the Nobel prize for the sciences in being awarded for major contribution to a field of math.

 

8.       HWASONG-17: INTERCONTINENTAL BALLISTIC MISSILE WAS TEST FIRED BY NORTH KOREA

·         North Korea has test fired its biggest-yet Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM), Hwasong- 17 as per the orders of their Supreme leader Kim Jong Un. 

·         The missile flew 1,090 km (681 miles) at a maximum altitude of 6,248.5 km (3,905 miles) and hit a target in the Sea of Japan after travelling 67.5 minutes in air.

·         Capital: Pyongyang ,Supreme leader: Kim Jong-un,Currency: North Korean won

 

9.       INTERNATIONAL DAY OF REMEMBRANCE OF THE VICTIMS OF SLAVERY– MARCH 25 

·         The United Nations(UN)’s International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade is annually observed across the globe on 25th March to commemorate the memory of the victims of Transatlantic Slave Trade. 

·         The theme of 2022 International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade is “Stories of Courage: Resistance to Slavery and Unity against Racism”.
