1. INDIA RANKS 76TH ON WEF GLOBAL ENERGY TRANSITION INDEX
India has moved up 2 places to rank 76th on a global energy transition index. The annual list, compiled by Geneva-based World Economic Forum, has ranked 115 economies on how well they are able to balance energy security and access with environmental sustainability and affordability.
Sweden remains on the top and is followed by Switzerland and Norway in the top three.

2. RESERVE BANK OF INDIA HAS APPOINTED A FIVE-MEMBER COMMITTEE UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF NANDAN NILEKHANI TO STRENGTHEN DIGITAL PAYMENTS
Reserve Bank of India has appointed 5-member committee under the chairmanship of Nandan Nilekani to strengthen digital payments as well as to boost financial inclusion through Financial Technology.
The purpose of the event is to shape India’s predominance in FinTech, build the future strategy and policy to uplift the financial inclusion.
With the revolution in the FinTech sector India’s aim is to emerge as a 10 trillion dollar economy.

3. PETER TABICHI CONFERRED WITH GLOBAL TEACHER PRIZE FOR 2019
Peter Tabichi has been conferred with the prestigious Global Teacher Prize for 2019 at a ceremony in Dubai hosted by Hollywood actor, Hugh Jackman.

The 64th Filmfare Awards 2019 was held at Jio Garden, Mumbai. The event was hosted by Bollywood’s leading Actors, Directors, Musicians and Singers.
Best Film award won by Raazi, Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) won by Ranbir Kapoor (Sanju), Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) won by Alia Bhatt (Raazi) and Best Director won by Meghna Gulzar (Raazi).

1. DELHI IGI AIRPORT BECOMES THE 12TH BUSIEST IN THE WORLD AS PER ACI REPORT
In accordance with the preliminary world airport traffic rankings for 2018 released by Airports Council International, the Indira Gandhi International Airport of New Delhi has elevated 4 ranks to reach at 12th spot in terms of busiest airport as compared to 2017’s 16 spot.
The list of world’s busiest airports by passenger traffic ranking has been topped by Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (US) followed by Beijing Capital International Airport (China) and Dubai International Airport (UAE).

2. VICE ADMIRAL KARAMBIR SINGH TO BE DESIGNATED AS NEXT CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF
Vice Admiral Karambir Singh has been appointed as the 24th chief of naval staff. He will succeed present Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba.
