1. IBBI CONSTITUTES TECHNICAL COMMITTEE TO LAY DOWN TECHNICAL STANDARDS FOR PERFORMANCE OF CORE SERVICES
i. Under IBBI (Information Utilities) Regulations, 2017 the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India constitutes Technical Committee to lay down Technical Standards for the performance of core services and other services.
ii. The Committee Members are: Chairperson, Dr. R. B. Barman, Dr. NandLal Sarda (Member), Dr.  Pulak Ghosh (Member) and Sh. V. G. Kannan (Member)


2. INTERNATIONAL PERMACULTURE CONFERENCE TO BE HELD IN HYDERABAD
i. The 13th International Permaculture Convergence experts will be held on November 27 to December 2 in Hyderabad
ii. The theme of IPC will be ‘Towards healthy societies’.
iii. The objective of IPC 2017 is to provide Indian farmers an opportunity and to learn how their current challenges can be solved using permaculture principles.

3. 27TH SESSION OF UNIVERSAL PERIODIC REVIEW WORKING GROUP BEING HELD IN UNHRC IN GENEVA
i. The 27th Session of the Universal Periodic Review Working Group is being held from 1st to 12th of May 2017 at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
ii. India’s National Report for the UPR-III was reviewed on the May 4, 2017. India was represented by the Attorney General of India, Mukul Rohatgi.

4. INDIAN GSLV ROCKET LIFTS OFF SUCCESSFULLY WITH SOUTH ASIA COMMUNICATIONS SATELLITE
i. PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Gift’ to south Asian nations, the South Asia Satellite (GSAT-9) was successfully launched by ISRO from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. GSAT-9 was launched using ISRO’s GSLV-F09 rocket.
ii. South Asia Satellite will improve disaster and telecommunication links between India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Maldives.
iii. The idea of launching a satellite which specifically caters to communication needs of SAARC nations was first proposed by PM Narendra Modi while addressing ISRO scientists in June 2014.

5. ISRO UNVEILS SOLAR HYBRID ELECTRIC CAR MADE OF DESI RESOURCES
i. The Indian Space Research Organisation recently demonstrated a solar hybrid electric car, which has been designed and developed using in-house resources, at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvanathanapuram. 
ii. The demonstration was held in last week of March 2017, which included a successful uphill drive. The car is run using high-energy lithium ion batteries, which can be recharged using sunlight.
iii. The objective is to create an environment friendly vehicle which does not use fossil fuels and thereby results in zero emission.

6. NITIN GADKARI INAUGURATES INDIA INTEGRATED TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS SUMMIT 2017 IN NEW DELHI
i. Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways inaugurated the 1st ever India Integrated Transport and Logistics Summit in New Delhi.
i. The Objective of IITLS is to serve as a platform for bringing together stakeholders in transport and logistics sector, so that they can collaborate and explore mutually beneficial opportunities in   logistic parks, freight corridors and IT solutions.
ii. The summit will enable various ministries viz. Road Transport & Highways, Commerce, Shipping, Railways, Consumer Affairs, Finance, Urban Development, Civil Aviation, Food and Public Distribution, Skill Development and other state governments to jointly deliberate upon measures required to develop multimodal infrastructure in India.

7. 15TH EDITION OF WFH INTERNATIONAL MUSCULOSKELETAL CONGRESS HELD IN SEOUL
i. The 15th edition of WFH International Musculoskeletal Congress held in Seouli. The IMC program will feature presentations, posters, and exhibit displays with a focus on surgical and non–surgical approaches to the prevention and management of hemophilic arthropathy.
ii. Key developments in the field would be addressed, and made the event relevant to orthopedists and physical therapists around the world.
iii. The 15th International Musculoskeletal Congress will cover following topics: Benefits, approaches, concerns, and developments in skill acquisition techniques.
iv. Pathology and prevention of synovitis. Effects, assessments and surgical considerations related to the kinetic chain and Lessons learned by experienced treaters.

8. FOREX RESERVES TOUCH LIFE TIME HIGH OF $372.73 BILLION
i. India’s foreign exchange reserves have increased to touch a lifetime high of $372.73 according to R Bank of India.
ii. The reserves had gone up by $1.250 billion to $371.14 billion in the previous week. The special drawing rights with the International Monetary Fund were up by $8.5 million to $1.460 billion.
iii. The components of India’s Foreign Exchange Reserves includes Gold, Foreign currency assets and Special Drawing Rights.

9. GOVT APPOINTS HEADS OF 7 PSU BANKS
 i. In a major restructuring in the PSU banking space, the government appointed heads of various public sector banks.
ii. Allahabad Bank appointed Usha Ananthasubramanian as an MD, R Subramania Kumar MD of Indian Overseas Bank, Dinabandhu Mohapatra MD of Bank of India.                    
iii. Union Bank of India appointed Rajkiran Rai as MD, Sunil Mehta MD of Punjab National Bank, R K Sankara Narayana MD of Vijaya Bank and M O Rego MD of Syndicate Bank.

10. LEILA SETH, 1ST WOMAN JUDGE OF DELHI HIGH COURT, DIES
i. The 1st woman chief justice of a Delhi high court Justice (retd) Leila Seth has died.
ii. Leila was died of cardiac seizure. She was the first woman to have topped the London Bar exam.
iii. She was also the 1st woman chief justice of a state high court (Himachal Pradesh).
iv. She was also one of the 3 members of the Justice Verma Committee which was constituted in 2012 to recommend amendments to the Criminal Law for criminals accused of committing sexual assault against women.
v. She was herself an author and her autobiography ’On Balance’ was a bestseller.
