1.    IoE Status By The HRD Ministry
ü Ministry of Human Resource & Development (MHRD) awarded Institute of Eminence (IoE) status to a total of 5 institutions, and Letter of Intent (LoI) for granting the IoE to 5 private universities, based on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission(UGC).
ü They are as follows IoE

2.    UNESCO To Promote Rajasthan’s Intangible Cultural Heritage
ü  UNESCO has joined hands with Rajasthan state government to further enhance music, art and craft forms, and other intangible cultural heritage of the state.
3.    POSHAN Maah 2019
ü  Union Health Minister Shri Harsh Vardhan launched POSHAN Maah (nutrition campaign) 2019 to promote the “eat right India movement” to improve public health and combat negative nutritional trends.
ü  The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has also launched ‘Eat Right Online Store’ offering goods carrying campaign messages. The three major pillars for the programare : Eat SafeEat Healthy and Eat Sustainably.
4.    India International Seafood Show
ü  The 22nd edition of the India International Seafood Show (IISS) which is one of the largest seafood fairs in Asia, is to be hosted by the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) in association with Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI) in Kochi February 7-9,2020.
ü  An upcoming movie named Coolie No. 1 is the first Bollywood film to go plastic-free.
5.    PM Narendra Modi’s Visit To Vladivostok
ü  It was the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Far East Region of Russia. He participated as the Chief Guest at the 5th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) for 2019 and also attended the 20th India-Russia Annual Summit for 2019.
ü  PM Modi accepted the invitation to attend the 75th anniversary celebrations of the victory of the Russian Federation in World War II scheduled to be held in May 2020 at Moscow, Russia.
ü  India extended a credit line of $1 billion for the development of Russia’s Far East. This is the first-ever region-specific line of credit in a foreign country extended by India.

6.    WHO South-East Asia Region Set To Eliminate Measles & Rubella

ü  WHO (World Health Organisation) South-East Asia Region have vowed to eradicate the highly infectious childhood killers diseases of measles & rubella by 2023.
ü  Decisio was taken during the 72nd session of the Regional Committee of southeast Asia of WHO in New Delhi.
7.    ‘Yudh Abhyas’ 2019 commenced
15th edition of military exercise ‘Yudh Abhyas’ 2019 between Indian and the United States(US) at Lewis McChord Joint Airforce Base,Washington(US) has commenced.
8.    28th Indo-Thai CORPAT
ü  India-Thailand Coordinated Patrol(Indo-Thai CORPAT) is being conducted in Bangkok, Thailand.
9.    ‘Lamp of Peace of Saint Francis ‘ award
Vatican city conferred Prof MuhammadYunus(Bangladesh) with 2019 ‘Lamp of Peace of Saint Francis ‘ award
10. “Oscars of science” award
ü  An Event Horizon Telescope Team consisting of 347 scientists who produced the world’s first image of a black hole were felicitated with Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics. 
ü  It is known as the “Oscars of science” which was launched by Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and it is the eighth year of award.

11. Dr. B. Bala Bhaskar is the next newly appointed Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Norway
ü  Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan becomes youngest test cricket captain
Afghanistan test cricket captain  Rashid Khan in the match against Bangladesh created record by becoming the youngest test cricket captain released ICC at the age of 20 years and 350 days.

12. Former President (2nd) and first prime minister of ZimbabweRobert Mugabe passed away at the age of 95
