1.    WTO cuts global trade growth forecast

ü  The World Trade Organisation (WTO) in its report reduced the global trade growth forecast to 1.2% for 2019 from 2.6% due to trade tensions and sluggish global economy.

ü  It is the weakest level in a decade. The global trade growth forecast for 2020 was reduced to 2.7% from 3%.

2.    India’s Most Powerful Women in Media award

ü  Indian magazine India today’s Vice Chairperson (VC) Kallie Puri was honoured with 2019 “India’s Most Powerful Women in Media” award at famed Confluence Excellence Awards at the British Parliament in London, United Kingdom.

3.    Pune headquartered Bajaj Finance overtook SBI in market capitalization

ü  Bajaj Finance Ltd based at Pune, Maharashtra, has surpassed India’s largest bank, the State Bank of India (SBI) for the first time, in terms of market capitalization.

ü  The market capital of Bajaj Finance stood at Rs 2.32 lakh crore while it was Rs 2.28 lakh crore for SBI.
