1. ‘AATMA NIRBHAR UTTAR PRADESH ROJGAR ABHIYAN’
·        Atma Nirbhar Uttar Pradesh Rojgar Yojana was inaugurated by Shri Narendra Modi through video conferencing for migrant workers of Uttar pradesh.
·        The local entrepreneurship will be promoted along with providing employment opportunities to migrant workers.
·        Maintaining ‘Do Gaj Ki Doori’ and covering face mask are the best precautions until a vaccine is found.
·        About 5000 crore rupees were directly transferred to Jan Dhan accounts of 75 lakh poor women of UP.

2. RS 500 CR EMERGENCY FUNDS TO ARMED FORCES
·        The Central Government has granted special financial powers of Rs 500 crore as emergency funds to armed forces for war preparedness amid ongoing border tensions with China.
·        Under this financial aid, the three defence services (Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force) can buy any weapon system or any in inventory upto Rs 500 cr in consultation with the Department of Military Affairs (DMA).


3. WORLD’S FIRST YOGA UNIVERSITY
·        As a part of International Yoga day, V Muraleedharan, the Minister of State of External Affairs launched World’s First Yoga University “Vivekananda Yoga University”(VaYU) in Los Angeles, United States of America, over the virtual event at the Consulate General of India in New York.
·        The first chairman of the VaYU is the Indian Yoga Guru, Dr. H R Nagendra, the Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (SVYASA), the first Yoga University in India. 

4. 75TH VICTORY DAY PARADE OF WORLD WAR II
·        Rajnath Singh paid a 3-day visit to Russia from June 23- 25, 2020 on the invitation of Defence Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu to attend the 75th Anniversary of Victory Day Parade and to strengthen the longstanding special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia.
·        Russia will accelerate deliveries of some defence contracts with India including the S-400 long range air defence system.

5. JUSTICE BP KATAKEY TO INVESTIGATE ASSAM GAS LEAK
·        The National Green Tribunal (NGT) formed a high level committee headed by Justice BP Katakey, former High Court judge of Gauhati, to investigate the blowout at Assam’s Baghjan oil well of Oil India Limited(OIL) on 27th May 2020.
·        The 13 points focuses on the cause of leak, extent damage on life and environment, extent of contamination in the Dibru river and groundwater, Impact on Dibru-Saikhowa National Park and Maguri-Motapung wetland zone, agriculture, fishery and other incidental or allied issues
·        The NGT has imposed a fine of Rs.25 crore on OIL for the damages caused due to the fire.

6. FIFA 2023 WOMEN’S WORLD CUP
·        FIFA(Fédération Internationale de Football Association) Council voted over a video conference and handed the right to host the 2023 Women’s World Cup Football tournament, the first 32-team women’s championship to Australia and New Zealand.
·        This is the first Women’s World Cup to be hosted in the Asia-Pacific Region.

7. INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING – JUNE 26
·        Theme -“Better Knowledge for better care” to educate the need for understanding about global drug problems.

8. INDIA’S PCI TO DECLINE BY 5.4% DURING 2020-21 TO RS 1.43 LAKH: SBI REPORT
·        As per the report by the economic wing of State Bank of India (SBI), Covid-19 pandemic is likely to bring down India’s per capita income(PCI) by 5.4% in the financial year 2020-21 (FY21) to Rs 1.43 lakh from Rs 1.52 lakh in FY20. Delhi, Chandigarh, and Gujarat will be the worst hit with PCI falling 15.4%, 13.9% and 11.6% respectively in FY21 among states.
