 1.       NATIONAL CADET CORPS RAISING DAY 2025 – NOVEMBER 23

·         The National Cadet Corps (NCC), the world’s largest uniformed youth organization, celebrates its Raising Day on the 4th Sunday of November to honor its role in shaping young citizens and their contribution to national service.

·         On 29 September 1946, the Cadet Corps Committee was formed with Pt. H. N. Kunzru as its Chairman.

·         On 15 June 1948, the NCC was officially set up through an ordinance issued by the Government of India(GoI), serving as an auxiliary educational body for the Indian Army(IA) and the Indian Navy(IN).

 

2.       WORLD CONJOINED TWINS DAY 2025 – NOVEMBER 24 

·         The United Nations (UN) observed World Conjoined Twins Day (WCTD) every year across the globe on 24 Nov.

·         Theme “From Words to Action: A World Fit for Conjoined Twins and Children with Disabilities”.

·         Venue: UNICEF Headquarters, New York.

·         The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted Resolution A/RES/78/313 on 1 July 2024, officially designating 24 November as WCTD.

·         The resolution was introduced by Saudi Arabia, with joint support from Bahrain, Morocco, Qatar, and Yemen.

·         First Observance: The first WCTD was observed on 24 November 2024.

 

3.       INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN 2025 – NOVEMBER 25

·         The United Nations (UN) observes the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women every year on 25 November .

·         The inaugural observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women took place on 25 November 2000.

·         The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women marks the start of the UNiTE campaign (25 November–10 December), a 16-day global activism effort that concludes on International Human Rights Day (10 December).

·         Theme: The 2025 UNiTE campaign, titled “UNiTE to End Digital Violence against Women and Girls”, aims to mobilize all sections of society.

 

4.       NATIONAL CONSTITUTION DAY ‘SAMVIDHAN DIWAS’ 2025 – NOVEMBER 26

·         National Constitution Day also known as ‘Samvidhan Diwas’ is observed annually across India on 26th November to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly of India in 1949.

·         26th November 2025 marks the 76th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India.

·         2025 Theme: “Humara Samvidhan, Humara Swabhimaan” (Our Constitution–Our Pride).

·         The first Constitution Day was officially observed on 26th November 2015.

·         The Ministry of Culture released a commemorative booklet titled “Bharat ke Samvidhan se Kala aur Calligraphy”, highlighting the art and calligraphy of the original handwritten Constitution.

·         On 26th November 2025, a bronze bust of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was unveiled at United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Headquarters in Paris, France, by the Permanent Delegation of India to UNESCO.

 

5.       NATIONAL MILK DAY 2025 – NOVEMBER 26

·         National Milk Day is observed every year on 26 November across India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, widely known as the “Father of the White Revolution in India” and “Milkman of India”.
National Milk Day was instituted in 2014 through a joint initiative of the Indian Dairy Association (IDA), the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and 22 State-Level Milk Federations.

·         The annual observance is coordinated by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying(DoAHD) under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (MoFAH&D).

 

6.       WORLD SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT DAY 2025 – NOVEMBER 26

·         The United Nations (UN’s) World Sustainable Transport Day (WSTD) was observed on 26 November to highlight the need for safe, affordable, accessible, and sustainable transport to boost economic growth, well-being, and international cooperation.

·         26th November 2025 marks 3rd observance of WSTD.

·         On 16 May 2023, the UN General Assembly(UNGA) adopted A/RES/77/286, titled “Strengthening the links between all modes of transport to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG),” proclaiming 26 November each year as WSTD.

·         The resolution was introduced by Turkmenistan and co-sponsored by 66 countries.

·         The date marks the first UN Global Sustainable Transport Conference held on 26-27 November 2016 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

·         On 10 December 2025, the UN Headquarters in New York, the United States of America(USA), will officially launch the United Nations Decade of Sustainable Transport (2026–2035).

 

7.       DHARMENDRA PASSED AWAY

·         Renowned Bollywood actor DharmendraKewalKrishanDeol , popularly known as Dharmendra, passed away at the age of 89 in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

·         He was born on 8 December 1935, in Nasrali, Punjab.

·         In 2012, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, in recognition of his significant contributions to the Art.

·         In 1960, he made his debut in DilBhiTera Hum BhiTere, a Hindi film.

·         He was first critically acclaimed for his performance in Bandini (1963).

·         His prominent works include Sholay (1975), in which he played the role “Veeru”, Chupke Chupke (1975), Dharam Veer (1977).

·         He served as a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) representing the Rajya Sabha(from 2004 to 2009).

·         In 1997, he was honoured with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema.

·         His other awards include DadasahebPhalke International Film Festival (DPIFF) award (2021).

·         He was popularly known as the “He-Man of Bollywood”.

 

8.       BHARATANATYAM DANCER KUMARI KAMALA PASSED AWAY

·         Renowned Bharatanatyam dancer Kamala Laxmi Narayanan, popularly known as Kumari Kamala, passed away at the age of 91 in California, USA. 

·         She was born on 16 June,1934 in Mayuram (Present Mayiladuthurai), Madras Presidency Present Tamil Nadu (TN).

·         In 1970, she was conferred with the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award, for her contribution in the field of arts.

·         She also received Kalaimamani in 1967 from the TN government and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1968).

·         In 2010, she also received the National Heritage Fellowship (USA) from National Endowment for the Arts, the highest honour for traditional and folk artists in the USA.
