1. RBL BANK TO LAUNCH SCHEME FOR FINTECH ENTREPRENEURS
i. RBL Bank is going to launch an Entrepreneur-in-Residence  programme for fintech start-ups .
ii. Recently the bank has also opened a branch for start-ups in Bengaluru.
iii. The EIR programme is the part of RBL Bank’s engagement with start-ups.

2. SADHGURU TO LEAD YOGA SESSION AT UN ON 2ND INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
i. Spiritual leader and Isha Foundation founder Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev will lead a yoga session at the UN on the occasion of the second International Yoga Day.
ii. The International Yoga Day will be commemorated on June 21st.
iii. The theme for this Yoga will be Sustainable Development Goals.

3. INDIAN AUTHOR ADITI KRISHNAKUMAR WINS ASIAN BOOK AWARD          
i. Indian woman author Aditi Krishnakumar has won the 'Scholastic Asian Book Award' for her 32,000-word manuscript named "love of Indian history".
ii. Last year also she won award for her manuscript "Codex: The Lost Treasure Of The Indus".

4.  TELANGANA GOVERNMENT ENTERS LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS
i. The Telangana government has entered the Limca Book of Records for conducting the most intensive household survey by a state.
ii. In 2014 four lakh government employees covered more than 1.09 crore households between 7 am and 8 pm in one day.
iii. The survey was ordered after Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao after he assumed office.

5. MAN GETS 366 FLAG TATTOOS FOR GUINNESS RECORD
i. Har Parkash Rishi  an Indian man who holds the Guinness World Record for having the maximum number of flags  tattooed on his body.
ii. He had all his teeth removed so he could fit nearly 500 straws and over 50 burning candles in his mouth.
iii. He goes by the name Guinness Rishi.

6. INDIA’S FIRST INTEGRATED WEB PORTAL TO PROMOTE NET ZERO ENERGY BUILDINGS LAUNCHED
i. The Union Ministry of Power and the United States Agency for International Development  launched India’s first integrated web portal.
ii. It is designed to promote and mainstream Net Zero Energy Buildings in India.
iii. The portal will provides complete information about NZEB that generate as much energy as they use.
iv. It will help to achieve near-zero energy status through the use of efficient lighting and equipment, best practice design strategies and integration of renewable energy technologies.

7. PAKKE TIGER RESERVE IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH BAGGED INDIA BIODIVERSITY AWARD 2016
i. Pakke Tiger Reserve  received the 'India Biodiversity Award 2016' in  Mumbai.
ii. The Pakke tiger reserve is located in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
iii. The Hornbill Nest Adoption Programme of the Pakke Tiger Reserve was given award under Conservation of threatened species category.

8. SUNIL MITTAL RECEIVES 2016 HARVARD ALUMNI AWARD
i. Bharti Enterprises founder and Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal  was honoured with 2016 Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award.
ii. Sunil Mittal is Indian telecom tycoon, entrepreneur and philanthropist.
iii. Bharti is India’s largest telecom company and world’s third largest mobile operator.
iv. Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award is  given to those who have contributed to their companies and communities while upholding the highest standards and values.

 1. LAKSHADWEEP BECOMES THE FIRST UNION TERRITORY TO SIGN 24X7 ‘POWER FOR ALL’ DOCUMENT
i. Lakshadweep became first Union Territory to sign 24x7 Power for All document.
ii. The document makes a plan to increase solar capacity of the region from 2.15 MW to 8.45 MW.
iii. It is a joint initiative of central government and  State Governments for providing 24x7 power supply to all households /homes, industrial & commercial consumers.
iv. Already 22 States have already signed the '24x7 Power For All' Documents.

2. NEW COMMITTEE ON CASHLESS SOCIETY FORMED        
i.The Government of Indai  and RBI have been working on how to reduce cash transactions in the economy.
ii. A committee of 7 members is formed  which is chaired by a Neeraj Kumar Gupta.
iii. The committee is working on maximize the acceptance of card payments.
iv. The panel will work on the ways in which card payers needn’t to pay a surcharge for fuel, utility bills and railway bookings.

3. PM FLAGS OFF DIRECT KAMAKHYA TO KATRA TRAIN
i. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has flagged off, the first ever direct train between Assam to Jammu & Kashmir.
ii. This will connect the two pilgrim towns of Devi Peeth of Maa Kamakhya and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.
iii. The train will cover a distance of 2605 km in about 53 hours.

 4.  FM ARUN JAITLEY TO ON SIX-DAY OFFICIALS VISIT TO JAPAN
i. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will on a six-day official visit to Tokyo, Japan from May 29 to June 4.
ii. He will attend the 22nd International Conference on The Future of Asia.
iii. He will also attend seminar on 'India: Political, Social and Economic Change at Osaka University.

5. ‘NUMBER OF PUBLIC SECTOR BANKS TO COME DOWN TO 8-10’
i. According to the Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha India will have 8 to 10 very competitive public sector banks once the "dust settles" and the consolidation phase ends.
ii. Presently India have 27 public sector banks.
iii. He also stated the government is working on the management reforms  of banks with RBI.
iv. SBI has recently announced to merge its 5 associates and Bhartiya mahila bank in SBI.

6. BIHAR GOVERNMENT AND UNICEF JOIN HAND TO CURB MALNOURISHMENT
i. The Bihar government, UNICEF and the Bihar based Rajendra Agriculture University entered into an agreement to control malnourishment among women and children in the state.
ii. According to the agreement an Agriculture Nutrition Cell would be set up in the Rajendra Agriculture University.
iii. According to the nutritional quality assessment of food it will help quality of food served to students in 7,000 schools of Bihar.

1. GOVERNMENT APPROVES RS 5500 CR INVESTMENT TO IMPROVE INFRASTRUCTURE IN SIX STATES
i. The Centre has approved an investment of 5500 crore rupees for basic urban infrastructure in six states under Atal Mission.
ii. The States are Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Odisha, Jharkhand and Meghalaya.
iii. The investment will be made for providing household water taps, improving water supply, sewerage network and urban transport.

2. 1ST BULLET TRAIN TO RUN IN INDIA BY 2023 ANNOUNCED BY RAILWAY MINSTER
i. According to the Union Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu, the first bullet train will run in India by 2023.
ii. The train will connect Mumbai and Ahmedabad and is expected to cover 508 km in about two hours.
iii. The train will run at a maximum speed of 350 kmph.

3. FITCH FORECASTED INDIA’S GROWTH TO RISE TO 8 PERCENT IN FY 2019 
i. According to the US based global rating agency, Fitch, India's economic growth rate will accelerate to 8% by fiscal year ending March 2019.
ii. Fitch also forecasted India's GDP to grow 7.5% in fiscal year ending March 2016  and improve to 7.7% in the current fiscal year and further to 7.9% in the fiscal year ending March 2018.
iii. According to the report India remains the fastest growing country across the world with GDP in 2016.

4. MAMATA BANERJEE TAKES OATH FOR SECOND SUCCESSIVE TERM AS WEST BENGAL CM
i. Trinamool Congress  chief Mamata Banerjee  has taken oath as the CM of West Bengal for the second consecutive five-year term.
ii. TMC won 211 seats out of the total 294.
iii. TMC became the first single party to win the seats without alliance in West Bengal's history.
iv. In 2011, Banerjee had become the first ever female CM of the state.

iii. The project will create job opportunities for around 1.5 lakh people and will help Odisha grow as a manufacturing hub and help Paradip port's growth.

i. The Indian Air Force has successfully test-fired an advanced version of BrahMos land-attack supersonic cruise missile system.
