1.  TATA SIGNED MOU TO DEVELOP ANDRA PRADESH’S VILLAGES
i.  Tata trust has signed Memorandum of Understanding with Andhra Pradesh government to develop 264 villages as ‘Smart Villages’
ii.  Tata trust has taken this project as Corporate Social Responsibility
iii.  Tata trust will work in the areas of education, health and nutrition, self employment for youth, fisheries, drinking water etc.

2. POSTAL STAMP ON ‘ASHOKA’ RELEASED BY UNION GOVERNMENT
i.   Union Government has released postal stamp on emperor Ashoka and it was released by union Telecom minister Ravi Shankar.
ii.  Postal stamp of Rs 5 is released on the birth anniversary of Ashoka
iii.  Ashoka was an Indian Emperor of Maurya Dynasty who ruled India between 269 BC to 232 BC

3.  AMOL PALEKAR NEW CHAIRMAN OF INDIA’S OSCAR JURY
i.   Actor and Director Amol Palekar is appointed as new Chairman of India’s Oscar Jury.
ii.  He will head the 17 member Jury for Selecting Indian movies to enter the best foreign film category of Oscar Awards.
Oscar awards are given by America Annually for honoring achievements in film industry .It is presented by Academy of Motion Picture arts and Science.

4. KUMAR SANGAKARA RETIRED FROM INTERNATIONAL CRICKET
i.  Sri Lankan cricketer Kumar Sangakara announced his retirement from International cricket
ii.  Kumar Sangakara had already taken retirement from Twenty-20 cricket and one day international
iii.  In 2015 he became 1st batsman to score hundreds in 3 consecutive world cups.

5.  UNFCCC AND MSSRF TO WORK FOR CONSERVATION OF COASTAL RESOURCES IN ANDHRA PRADESH
i.   United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and MS Swminathan Research Foundation have agreed to work together for the conservation of coastal resources in Andhra Pradesh.
ii.  They will work to Restore the Sorlagond mangrove forest cover in Krishna District
iii.  They will work to improve fish cultivation for landless families.
