1. SUSTAINABLE ACTION FOR TRANSFORMING HUMAN CAPITAL PROGRAM LAUNCHED BY NITI AAYOG
i. NITI Aayog has launched ‘SATH’ program with state governments for furthering the agenda for cooperative federalism. Acronym ‘SATH’ stands for ‘Sustainable Action for Transforming Human capital’.
ii. Its Objective is to identify and build 3 future ‘role model’ states for health systems. Three model states will be selected on basis of 3-stage process comprising expression of interest, presentations by the states and assessment of commitment to health sector reforms.
iii. So far, 16 states have expressed prima facie interest, and 14 have presented their project proposal to a Committee headed by Member of NITI Aayog, Bibek Debroy. The committee comprises CEO, Amitabh Kant as well as a representative from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

2. PUNJAB GOVT LAUNCHES ‘CHIEF MINISTER SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME’
i. Punjab State government launched the “Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme” with an aim to provide cheaper and quality technical education to the meritorious and poor students of the state.
ii. The scheme was formally launched jointly by the Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal and Punjab Technical Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi after approval from Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh.

3. MINISTRY OF AYUSH LAUNCHES AWARENESS DRIVE TO INCREASE POPULARITY OF YOGA THROUGH LIFE-SIZE MASCOTS
i. The Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy has initiated Yoga Awareness Drive through Mascots and Flash Mobs.
ii. It has been launched to increase popularity of Yoga especially among the youth.
iii. The Human-size IDY Mascots are running the campaign & spreading the message of Yoga Day in Delhi NCR, Haryana and Lucknow.
iv. It helps in boosting the awareness of International Day of Yoga that will be held on 21st of June. These mascots have a great impact on audience the viewers do not have to think too much but can take in a lot of information at a glance.
v. FlashMobs of Yoga Dance called YogMob are also being organized at certain crowded places like malls.

4. SECOND MISSION INNOVATION MINISTERIAL HELD IN BEIJING, CHINA
i. The Second MI Ministerial is to be held in Beijing, China from 7-8 June 2017.
ii. MI-2 will share knowledge and collaborate on priorities for clean energy innovation. MI-2 will be co-located with the eighth Clean Energy Ministerial.
iii. Under this event it includes ministerial working sessions, opportunities for high-profile announcements, Innovation Challenge discussions, and a series of side events.
iv. MI focuses on research and development for the new technologies of tomorrow. MI-2 will also feature a large technology which features companies from around the world that demonstrate innovative clean energy technologies.

5. RUCHIRA KAMBOJ APPOINTED AS THE NEXT HIGH COMMISSIONER OF INDIA TO THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA
i. Ruchira Kamboj, presently Ambassador/PR to Permanent Delegation of India to UNESCO, Paris has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of South Africa.
ii. Lucknow-born Ruchira Kamboj has been the topper of the 1987 batch of the Indian Foreign Services. 
iii. Earlier, She had served as the Deputy Head in the office of the Commonwealth Secretary-General, London.
iv. She has also held eminent positions at the High Commission of India in Mauritius and at the Indian Embassy in Paris.

6. SEBI CLEARS VIKRAM LIMAYE AS NSE CHIEF
i. Markets regulator SEBI has cleared the appointment of Vikram Limaye. Limaye is currently the MD of IDFC. He will be the next MD & CEO of National Stock Exchange.
ii. Limaye will have to tackle SEBI’s investigations relating to NSE’s alleged preferable treatment to some select brokers in disseminating trading data, which had happened between end-2012 and mid-2014.
iii. The post of MD at NSE had fallen vacant after Chitra Ramakrishna quit the exchange on Dec 2.

7. MULTIPLE GROUND-TO-SHIP MISSILES LAUNCHED BY – NORTH KOREA
i. North Korea fired multiple ground-to-ship missiles into the waters between Japan and Korea.
ii. The missile launches on June 8 came less than a week after the UN expanded sanctions against North Korea in response to ballistic missile tests.
iii. These launches are the North Korea’s 5th round of tests — 3 ballistic missile launches, a surface-to-air missile and now the cruise missiles — since the South Korea’s new President Moon Jae-in took power on May 10.
