1.       Conference on Sustainability Education 2019
ü  International Conference on Sustainability Education (ICSE) 2019 was held in New Delhi.
ü  Asia’s first environment school named World Environment School, Coorg (WESc) was launched on the occasion. It is set up in Coorg, Karnataka.
2.       India’s first Central Police University will be established in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh 
3.       India’s first National Antimicrobial Resistance Hub
ü  The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) inaugurated India’s first National Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Hub in Kolkata, West Bengal.


4.       International Ramayana Festival
ü  5th International Ramayana Festival was inaugurated in New Delhi  .
5.        ‘Bharosa’ savings account
ü  Airtel Payments Bank, a public limited company with its headquarters in New Delhi has launched “Bharosa” savings account services with the aim of deepening the financial inclusion in India.
6.       EPFO to credit 8.65% interest
ü  Minister of Labour and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar notified that over 6 crore members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will get 8.65% interest on deposits, which will be credited to the accounts, for 2018-19 .
7.       Amnesty’s ‘Ambassadors of Conscience’ award
ü  Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg(16 years) and the ‘Fridays for Future youth movement’ won the Amnesty International’s ‘Ambassadors of Conscience’ award for the year 2019.
8.       President of ADB Takehiko Nakao resigns
ü  The president of Asian Development Bank (ADB),  Takehiko Nakao has announced his resignation effective from January 16, 2020.
9.       ISRO and DRDO join hands for ‘Gaganyaan’ mission
ü  The Space agency of the Government of India(GoI), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop human-centric systems for the ‘Gaganyaan’ project.
ü  Gaganyaan: It is a proposed manned space mission by the Government of India (GoI) with an investment of Rs 10,000 crore.
10.    10th Asia Pacific Youth Games
ü  The 10th Asia Pacific Youth Games for 2019 were held in Vladivostok, Russia. India won a total of 16 gold, 13 silver and 5 bronze medals taking the total to 34 medals in 7 different sports events.
11.    Virgil van Dijk wins UEFA Men’s Player of the Year
ü  Dutch football player of the Liverpool team Virgil van Dijk won the 2018/2019 “UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Men’s Player of the Year award” and ‘Defender of the Season award’.
ü  Barcelona’s Lionel Messi won the “Forward of the Season award” for the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League
